Food reviews are as the name implies a critique on how impressive the food was in kicking ones ass there's generally very little hub bub about the aesthetic portion of the restaurant (unless it was terrible.)
Having said that Sweet Revenge gets points for its delicious treats but it gets major points in my book for the layout. Best I can describe is a cross between Alice In Wonderland and an old school European flat from yesteryear.
Honestly it's quiet, quaint and overall an enjoyable experience. Give it a visit and see for yourself!
Great desserts but they recently changed the CIA (?) sampler and I feel like the new sampler is much smaller with different cakes as well. It's one of my favourite dessert places when I'm craving cake
Their chocolate cake and desserts here are to die for. Also really loved their hot chocolate with whipped cream. Highly recommend this place for people who have sweet tooths and who love chocolate you will not go wrong with this place. Wonderfully cozy and charming ambiance in the place and service is extremely friendly.
○good service
○romantic/date night atmosphere
○ok price/ dessert was tasty and good quality Tea
○would I go back? Maybe when I crave creme brule
Came here with friends after dinner. I ordered the creme brulee and cappuccino. My friends ordered the sweet revenge chocolate cake and coffee and tea. They came here numerous times and they love the desserts here. I thought my creme brulee was alright but not the greatest creme brulee I had tasted. The cappuccino was ok but wasn't really traditional style and not as creamy and strong as I would like. I tasted their chocolate cake and it was good overall. Good place for desserts and hangout.
This place has the most awesome desserts ever! And the cozy ambiance compliments the whole experience. They get very busy on Saturday evenings, though.
oh ... do i love it or hate it
love the dessert
hate the place and decor (just not my thing)
my beautiful date loved the decor
called romantic and elegant
but i couldn't help looking around non stop because i feel like a giant spider would come out of somewhere
Been wanting to come here for a while. I like the atmosphere with the whole romantic candle lit dessert date with a nice fancy cup of tea. I got the bourbon street vanilla tea which was good, I would say the small would probably be enough if you are just by yourself and want enough tea with your cake. Overall the cake I got was good and totally worth it. Unfortunately I forgot what it was called, it started with a Z and had some liquor in it and was a mixture of chocolate a fruit. It was also $6. The cheesecake on the other hand was not the best. It was slightly warm, which I didn't like especially when I am food safe weary and get worried about dairy and warm temperatures a lot. But the other cake and tea were good! The place is small though and had no AC, but overall its a nice dessert place to go after eating on Main.
Lots of antique decor and cozy layout with many candles and fine china teacups. The creme brulee was alright, on the better side and the raspberries were fresh and delicious. The lavender rosehip tea tasted creamier and less bitter after some sugar and the place filled up quickly. Overall a pleasant experience.
It seems that I was eating nonstop while I was in Vancouver. No wonder I gained weight. I don't know how much I gained though. I can just feel it. I am too scared to see the cruel reality of how my weight has sky rocketed. I went to Sweet Revenge with my friend. Something to do to chill at night. We are too old to go clubbing now. I hate to admit it that I am too old for it, but I really can't lie to myself and force myself to go again. I rather chill with my friends at at desserts place or have a glass or wine at a lounge.
