If you want a lot of nice food for a good price Tomokazu is the right place! We made the mistake by ordering everything (warm/cold dishes) all at once which resulted that the hot stuff cooled off and was not so tasteful anymore. The best option for us (4 adults+2 kids) was to order the shushi first and then the warm food later, this would have also prevented us of being stuffed after only one hour. The food was of a good quality, tasty, freshly made and sreved very quickl;y but this was because it was not so crowded, our friends said that they have experience longer times when it was very busy. We spend 120$ for the 4+2 so my conclusion is as I started.
My experience here was great. We ordered and minutes later our food arrived. As all you can eat sushi goes it was really very tasty. The staff were friendly and efficient.
The food is ok. But how can you go wrong with Cali rolls, however this place messed it up. The avocados were mooshy and tasted very fishy. The teriyaki chicken was good.
I think I just found my favourite AYCE spot/place with roof + windows + food to stuff my face. Got quite a lot of good press about this joint from friends of mine so I was extremely elated to finally try it out! And Tomokazu did not disappoint! The food quality here is unreal for an AYCE spot; no rushed preparation with sub-par ingredients here all for the sake of speed. Everything was delicious! I especially liked their cones and various sashimi offerings. Rangoons and Korean BBQ meat on menu was a nice surprise too. The service was solid and the ambiance here was better than I expected it would be. And the price for all this goodness? $17 for dinner AYCE... which is just ridiculous!
P.S. Owned by the same people who run Ninkazu, another one of my favourite AYCE spots & a straight-up Richmond institution!
Great place to come and have really good salmon and tuna nigiri, Alaska, dynamite and other standard rolls. They have great agedashi tofu, karage, tonkatsu, and much more+ it's a great deal for only $12 and the food is good and fresh. You don't get the fancy rolls or sashimi (you can pay extra for sashimi) but they have such a varied menu for all palettes!
First time here for late night, was quite busy for a wednesday night! The price ($17) for ayce was worth it but it wasn't THE best I've ever tasted. Im not a heavy fan for sushi, their chicken teriyaki was the best for me and the udon noodles tasted a bit undercooked. Gyoza, short ribs, chicken wings, tofu were all pretty solid for the price paid.
Had a reservation for a large group and was seated promptly, service was prompt and food came quick.
We had the dinner buffet and food was pretty good and some interesting sushi rolls like Shark Fin and Lobster Roll, they even had samosas~
One of my favorite all you can eat (ayce) sushi joints in vancouver. They have unlimited sashimi and oysters where most places limits your order per person you have. Friendly staff and reasonably priced too. It's pay parking but worth it if you're starving!!
Selection is really wide! I wish they had options to order things without rice since its so filling. At any all you can eat, the quality is never going to be great but I think it's pretty awesome here! I thought their soft shell crab tasted a little off though.

This is only for the AYCE. It is amazing, but you gotta order a lot of sushi to get your money's worth. Each set is two or three rolls, so you may have to order 12 - 15 sets. You get two rounds, and for a sushi lover like me who can eat platters of sushi, this is the perfect place. Just don't get the sashimi. It costs extra and the portion size is extremely small per piece.
Delicious!. Went for AYCE here. Better than most AYCE places around the Lower Mainland. Sashimi was a bit small but it's not a huge deal with AYCE (though I wouldn't get it a la carte). Get the korean style salmon sashimi, the short ribs, and the chicken karaage. Service was pretty good too!
Best AYCE in town!. Cheap, good food, decent service, and open late. It's what you expect for AYCE, sometimes you don't get everything you order but that is to be expected.
Downsides are that it doesn't have free parking out front (park on 10th for free), and the men's bathroom is almost outside. It's freezing this time of year so try to avoid the bathroom, men!
I would recommend it to younger people who are on a budget. It you want fancy, then keep looking.

Decent for an all you can eat late night Japanese restaurant. It's pretty typical, limited sashimi, and food is very similar to it's sister restaurant, Ninkazu in Richmond. The service was good, food came quickly and the hot food was hot. No complaints, it's what I expected.
Good Food. Okay, first things first, the sushi here is great compared to most Japanese buffets and I love the fact that the restaurant is on the second level of the building, it just makes it feel different. The service here is a little below average because sometimes the waitresses make a few mistakes
THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW: • .... THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW:
• The food here is good. It's fresh and it comes quickly, the staff are very prepared for the 9:30 pm rush.
• Any food you order and don't eat during "all you can eat," you PAY FOR. I find this a bit unsettling. Apparently it doesn't happen often where you don't finish the food, but anyways..
• All you can eat costs under $15 per person, after tax & tip
• there is not much for vegetarians
After coming here several times, I have to say this is my absolute favorite place to have all-you-can-eat. The quality of the food is amazing, the service is quick, and the atmosphere is calm and clean. There are two menus to choose from, regular and deluxe. If you don't feel like spending the extra money, the regular menu will still get you most of the good stuff, however I usually go with the deluxe. I have no complaints about this place, absolutely the best.
Awesome. Good food, fast service. I was pleased and will go back a few times to see if the standards and quality stay that high.
This restaurant is always consistant for dinner but u should get there early for the freshest quality ingredients and not late at night when they are trying to get rid of everything and the quality is going downhill fast
Cheap Late Night All You Can Eat. If you go after 930PM, they have all you can eat (AYCE) for under $15. There is a good selection of rolls and non-roll items like tempura, teriyaki, and deep fried dishes. The quality is good, not great, but considering its AYCE it's well worth it. If you are with a large group, they may short you. For example, I ordered 10 orders of chicken wings (20 individual wings), I ended getting a plate of 8. But we just ordered more later, so its just a minor inconvience. The service is minimal, you just flag down a server and give him the paper with the order you right yourself, and they just drop the stuff at your table. I keep coming back, so it must be good!
Good food, good selection, nice place, price ok. I read reviews about this place online first and all mentioned very low prices. However, the prices are incorrect or they have recently changed. It cost $23 for All-you-can-eat for 2 adults but the limit is 2hrs and it IS ENFORCED!! Yes, you will be kicked out. I was too busy talking with a relative I have seen in a decade until that day and so we ate slowly and the next thing you know one waiter literally snatched the menu from my hand and repeated "last call"!! I didn't quite understand at first as it was my first such experience.
Anyway, everything we tried was good. Nice presentation. Good selection but not the best. Very very crowded, thus the enforcement of the 2hr rule. When we got there at 5pm it wasn't crowded though.
Had two other waiters who were great but that one guy was absolutely rude.
You can definitely get good value for your money if you can eat enough!!
Total cost with 3 soft drinks (NO REFILLS as we found out later) was about $80 Canadian.
I would recommend this place but you'll need to quickly decide what you want and order quickly so you don't run out of time like us.
One more thing, they have strict rules including charing you for wasted food so don't be wasteful. Food service is quick so that's great.
Call me a glutton for punishment. Or just call me a glutton because here I was at Tomakazu on a Sunday night stuffing my face with rice balls by the fistful. I hate myself. But yet I can’t stop. I won’t stop. This is my house, this is my rules. So la da di da di, me like to party.
This is probably one of the better Japanese All You Can Eat (AYCE) places around town that I've been to. Originally, my friends and I were downtown planning to eat at another restuarant. When we found out the wait was about an hour and a half we decided to go some where else. It was about 9:15PM when we arrived at Tomokazu. We paid for our parking before we entered the restaurant. Even though the time was late in the evening, I was surprised how busy the place was. There was a short wait of about 5 minutes before we were seated. I think the reason why the place is so busy is because they have a late night AYCE menu for almost half price of the regular. However, when we compared the regular to the late night menu, a few things were missing from the late night. At the end we decided to go with the light menu. The restaurant itself is pretty big, and I would say the servers are all dressed in uniform and this shows that their company actually cares about the presentation of their brand. h
Overall, I was very satisfied with my experience at Tomokazu. Even the price per person seemed a bit lower than Ninkazu. I would definitely consider going back again.
The sushi and raw stuff was all great. I garbled down the spicy salmon and chopped scallop cones. The sashimi was also up to par. The raw beef was a little cold and frozen at times, but not too, too bad.
it was joyce’s birthday and my virgin visit to tomokazu. i love how HUGE our party room is. it could fit 16 of us !! initially, i would say that the waiter was very patient and catered to minor issues like asking if we wanted to refrigerate joyce’s cake a
This is an all you can eat (AYCE) Japanese restaurant and I have to admit, I used to frequent this place a lot during my university days
AYCE are not known for their quality, nor their execution, they are mostly known you "you won't leave hungry". With my many years of experience at Tomokazu, I have to say they kept their quality relatively consistent.
When you go for sushi, you usually expect the best quality. When you go for AYCE ( all you can eat ) sushi, your expectations aren't quite as high. With this in mind, we visited Tomokazu on 20-1128 West Broadway , Vancouver. We arrived at ~6:30pm,
