After an aborted attempt to visit another restaurant, I eventually wound up at Restaurant Yugo. It wasn’t a total loss because this place has been on my radar for a while now. Located on Main Street between East 26th and East 27th, this spacious restaurant serves up some seriously good (albeit somewhat expensive) Japanese items.
I can never stress how much I love Japanese food in Vancouver. Went to Restaurant Yugo. A Japanese and French fusion restaurant. To be honest, I didn't feel the French part though. Food was definitely yummy. Restaurant Yugo is at point r in Places Part 3 on the map below:. Restaurant Yugo - Vancouver, Canada
We came for dinner, my guest chose our destination having been impressed by the reviews she has read and the photos she has seen. They are located on Main Street, but the decor with its wood meet brick facade feels a lot more like a small bistro in Gastown. A very modern feel to parallel the sophisticated plates to come.
When anyone asked about Japanese-French fusion, I immediately thought of Pidgin, but now there is a new restaurant on this recommendation list – Restaurant Yugo. The restaurant uses the simplest decor and lighting. Inside, you can see a marble sushi bar table, where you can have more interactions with the owner and the chef. This is definitely one of the hidden gem in West End.
As many of you have known that I have started Vancouver Gourmet Club (@vangourmetclub) and get to present some of the best restaurants in the city. Restaurant Yugo in Reily Park is one of our new discoveries. Chef Alex, with a resume working overseas and Montreal, is passionate about utilizing his French and Japanese cooking technique in his dishes and working with quality ingredients, both local and imported. After a taste of his food during lunch hours, I decided to take my mom there for dinner for her birthday.
