What a nice find in the neighbourhood! There were a nice selection of dairy-free options too. I like to support local and this is a family-run establishment. Their range of flavours were unique and the cookies that keep it all together go so well with the ice cream.

With the weather getting better, ice cream season is right around the corner. And today I was invited to try “Innocent ice cream” on Main Street. But this isn’t just any ice cream shoppe, they specialize in sandwiching their in house made ice creams with their in house made cookies.

On Main street, there lies a secret hidden gem for those who enjoy frosty treats on a hot summer day. It’s called Innocent Ice-Cream and they specialize in gluten free ice-cream sandwiches!. They opened not too long ago and already the news of their existence has spread like wild fire. They invited me to come try their ice-cream sandwiches so I took Meta Knight with me to enjoy.

My girlfriend and I had noticed a new ice cream shop that opened up on this corner. But it wasn't just any ice cream shop, it's a gluten free ice cream sandwich shop. Man did it ever sound cool! We just had to try it.

It's a small little shop with plenty of parking around the hood. I got a bit overwhelmed with what to order since it was my first time there. I originally thought I could order a big ice cream sandwich. But for some reason I was directed by a nice gentlemen to try out their sandwich flight. Not a problem I gave it a shot.

Mind you the prices are high but you are getting good quality ingredients here. I love how the front of the shop opens up during summer, and how DOG FRIENDLY it is.

Would I come back again?
Yes, to try out their big sandwiches. I enjoyed my time here. They also give you a stamp card for your purchase.

OH MY GOODNESS these are good! What is better then not one but two soft cookies filled with ice cream. I honestly stared blankly at the board for about 10 minutes trying to decide on flavours because they all sound amazing (and I'm indecisive AF). The owner was there to help coach me through. I got the Choco-Mint which is two double chocolate cookies with mint chip ice cream. If you don't wanna commit to one big cookie you can do ice cream cookie flights so you get three little mini sandwiches. Plus the cookies are gluten free so you can feel slightly better about yourself 😏

I had come to know about Innocent Ice Cream when they were selling gluten-free ice cream sandwiches out of food truck around English Bay last year. Although I’m a West End resident, I never quite made it to visit them while they were in the area. I was wanting to try them this summer if they were back selling at the beach. It turns out that Innocent Ice Cream has now evolved into a bricks and mortar shop in the Little Mountain area of Main Street and 33rd. They’re certainly a more unique concept being Vancouver’s first dedicated gluten-free ice cream parlour. I had heard their grand opening through social media and decided to visit them on their big day yesterday.

The ice cream sandwich is not cheap, but it was a decent-sized ice cream sandwich. As a treat, I would go back to try other flavours of ice cream and cookies. For someone who doesn’t always enjoy gluten free products, I give Innocent Ice Cream extra props for making me crave an ice cream sandwich specifically from them!
