A special Happy Hour with exceptional hospitality. Thank you Mark Wicks for feeding and watering us with some of the best BBQ I've ever had. The brisket was to die for. Always appreciate a company that supports the locals as you do, including an earth friendly footprint. Return visit for sure. I am still trying to figure out all the layers of flavour in that BBQ rub đ Whiskey Six BBQ
Really awesome to have this high quality BBQ joint in the neighbourhood. I've tried the smoked chicken as well as their brisket which was phenomenal and all the sides have been great(especially the beans and brazed greens). Bonus points for the locally sourced menu and beer options ďż˝ one of the large platters has been more than enough for two of us so it's pretty affordable too!
The Molangs stumbled upon Whiskey Six BBQ in the middle of a Sunday afternoon. Right off the bat, we could tell it was a very pleasant place to have a meal/snack. The room was distinct, clean, and well-lit. In order to avoid over-stuffing ourselves, we decided to share one medium sized platter. Organic Beef Brisket â $24
Iâve lived right near this place but have never tried it before. My boyfriend and I got takeout from there last night and it was surprisingly good. I got the pulled pork on gluten free bread (side note itâs awesome that they have that, also from the cute little bakery down on Hastings which is great) and he got the beef burger. As a side we got fries and coleslaw. The fries were yummy but the coleslaw was kind of bland. Next time Iâll just get fries. I really enjoyed my pulled pork, the meal wasnât super heavy so I didnât feel gross after, and they offered gluten free which is great. I also want to go back just to try their chicken burger because it sounds yummy. All in all, a good experience and I think they just got a couple new regular customers.
Compared to sushi, ramen and ice creams, there arenât many dedicated BBQ eateries in Vancouver.  However, there is a new addition to Vancouverâs small BBQ scene which recently found a permanent home at 826 Renfrew Street in East Vancouver.  Whiskey Six BBQ is a restaurant that specializes in West Coast BBQ which brings together traditional barbecue and organic ingredients from local farmers and suppliers.  I recently visited Whiskey Six BBQ and had a chance to interact with owner and operator, Marc Wicks, about the restaurantâs concept.
Whisky Six BBQ is an organic, local, sustainable barbecue joint nestled in the heart of East Vancouver. I came with a few foodies to eat mass amounts of meat to kick off the long weekend. A few of us have been eyeing this place to see how their BBQ would compare. The space is small and they donât take reservations. First come first serve. On a Thursday, it didnât start getting busy until around 7pm.
