This bar is a perfect place to hang out with your friends and the environment and ambience of this place is perfect to chill.they have a wide variety of menu of drinks and food as well and the food is tasty too
The Cambie has always been a favourite over the years to go and get cheap drinks and a snack. However, I do not recommend their brunch. The eggs are overcooked, they skimp on sauce, and their dishes feel incomplete/poorly balanced.
Go for late night fun and cheap, well made drinks anytime.

I had a really good time here, I went with a group of 20+ people on a Saturday night and they didn't even charge us cover or kick us out even though it felt like we were there for 3+ hours hogging up a full table unlike Steamworks *cough cough* (feel free to refer to my RANT about how terrible my experience at Steamworks was if you please). I had a long Island ice tea and the special which was a raspberry vodka shooter, it was alright for the price. The nachos were also a good fix to go with the meal, although I have to say a few if the chips were slightly moist, but overall they gave a fair amount of cheese and veggies to go with the nachos. 😊
Pit Stop. The poutine here is pretty good, I like their fries. Burger and beer are cheap, of course, but I don't trust how clean their taps are. The bathrooms look nicer than the entire place! Luckily they got remodeled, I remember having to go out back in the alley before when there was a door open when people used to smoke in the smoke room. It was much better than using their old bathrooms. This place is a dive beyond dive, but the food is actually not bad.
Good Ol' Cambie.... A few friends and I were up in Vancouver from the Seattle area to see a show, and decided we'd stay at this hostel that a number of my friends have stayed in before. We checked into the hostel and immediately headed down for some drinks and appetizers. The sampler platters were AMAZING, but better than ALL was the BEER! The Cambie has a Honey Ale that is brewed specifically for them, it's a sweet, yet hoppy brew which has undertones of sandalwood. Delicious. The atmosphere is warm, and inviting, and you're sure to have a good time, whether just in for a drink, or experiencing the cultural hub of a hostel to meet new cultures. An absolute great time, headed back this weekend!
I do not know why this place is on urban spoon... the food here is aweful, mice run around the place openly on Sat nights in some areas of the place but in saying that it has a great atmosphere and the beers is cheap and good, do not eat here but go for a pint with friends!!
Cheap beer!. This is one of THE places to be. especially on mondays when they have the 10$ pitcher of beer specials.
the staff are usually pretty nice and service is good.
there is a cover charge on weekends, and it's normally packed anyways. so I tend to meet up with friends on a weekday.
it's kinda divey but that's why it's fun.
it's also a hostel so there are always interesting people to meet.
the food is amazing, the prices are ok not great but affordable for a student. or if you're sharing with friends..
the bathrooms are kinda scary albeit i've seen worse.
just don't sit...
the price for a game of pool is not ideal but its there if you feel like a game.
usually the music doesn't suck. there is a jukebox

Only had one. The Cambie has been lingering around the neighbourhood. It has all the classic attributes of a dive bar.. big open spaces, no decor and a clientele that is as they use to say mildly unsavoury.
But do not let that put you off... grow up and bring your pair.
I had been wanting to go for months.. they had fish & chips, now you must be thinking bloody mad.. dive bar food.. big mistake. But I was at the Cambie Bakery months ago and I saw all of these piles of battered fish and I asked "Da what is this for" Well you can guess they make it for them. I like the Bakery.
So off I go, grab my colleague John and we go in.
Never been inside but this is not Gastowns finest moment but it is authentic and absolute not pretenscious. It is quiet and people are eating surprisingly and having a drink.
We both order the fish & chips .. the Wed daily special $7.25.... and we wait... not too long. The service was friendly and prompt.
The fish and chips... two bigs pieces and on top of a large plate of home cut fries. tartar saauce in the side. Elegant no, fitting Coast no, but how does it taste.. not bad. Proper batter.. crisp and a little doughy. The fish good texture, definitely fresh and flaky. Average to above fish chips.
Overall, do not waste your time at the Greedy Pig across the street, if you want a filling meal, decent service and good value.... oh and only on Wednesdays.
I was recently invited to the Cambie with a group of bloggers to preview the launch of their new $5 food menu. The Cambie is best known for their cheap drinks and dive bar atmosphere, but they are trying to draw more attention to their food menu. There are around 10 items on the new $5 menu and it is only available from 11:00am – 6:00pm. I started off with a Granville Island Honey Lager to drink. I love this beer. It is sweet and easy to drink; it’s the perfect drink for summer. We were served a tasting platter of their pulled pork tacos, quesadillas, sausage on a bun, and Irish nachos. Pulled pork tacos are a good safe choice because pulled pork is rarely bad. The pork was tender and the tacos were filled with lettuce and fresh salsa. The quesadillas were filled with cheese and refried beans. A quesadilla is a quesadilla and they are pretty standard anywhere you go. I wouldn’t order one because you could just make them at home, but if you like quesadillas and just want something chees
