Mindblowing value sushi. Huge portions. Tuna sashimi is poor quality, everything else is excellent.
This place is simply amazing. With the price that does not match its sizes, don’t get it wrong, sizes are so big.
Usually go to the one in Fraser, but this one is just exactly the same.
The massive California roll is what I enjoy the best.
Usually make an order of 2, with the latter being variants. Highly recommended for sushi lovers.
Note that it’s not a big place to sit and chill. I prefer takeouts
Very tiny and cramped, most of their business is from take out. Best known for their GIANT rolls at super cheap prices. It's not the best quality, but the price is dirt cheap. I'd recommend calling in to make an order.
Samurai Sushi House is located on Cambie Street near Oakridge-41st Avenue Canada Line Station. It is a tiny place with approximately 10 seats. They mostly do take-out orders which are good for group events or family dinners.
This is a Vietnamese owner on a Japanese sushi house. If you are looking for authentic Japanese food with high quality, then this is not the place.
Amazing prices! HUGE quantities!

Love this place! I’ve never dined in as space is always limited as they are popular. Great for take out & often quick. Best place to go if you want giant sushi rolls! My recommendation is the Alaska Roll.
Pretty good for budget eats. Love the California roll. Just half a roll is enough to fill me up! Usually get the salmon sashimi, chopped scallop roll and California roll (all to share with another person of course). Option of table or booth. This is more of an “in and out” restaurant. Fill your tummy and leave. Not really the restaurant to bring ur Tinder date
This place takes cash only. Most folks came here for take out. The place is quite small with a limited number of seats. We really like the salmon tempura sushi, and BBQ salmon sushi. Others were also quite good.
I love their salmon tempura roll to death. The place itself is a bit too small to hold diners inside but I always call ahead of time to order for pickup. Takes no more than 10 to 15 mins for them to have it ready for you. Have to note that the place is CASH ONLY.
Sushi is big and Sashimi pieces are the largest in Vancouver, almost couldn`t fit my mouth! You can go to a high end japanese restaurant and pay triple for a small piece of fish. There is alot of people lining up, there is a reason why. I went here with my japanese girlfriend and she was very impressed with the quality of the fish! I highly recommend you to try out their sashimi, you won`t regret!
We frequently take-out from this restaurant.
Pros: The food portions are very large and we always order the house roll.
Cons: There has been a few mix-ups (twice out of ~12 orders) with the food we ordered. I.e. We ordered Unagi Roll (Eel), but received some other roll in the box.
I always recommend double checking your order in the box before leaving.
Solid sushi restaurant when no order mix-ups happen.
Have you seen the pictures of the sushi pcs? It's about the size of my face for a dynamite roll. Stretch that dollar of yours by getting sushi here and you'll stretch the crap out of your mouth by trying to fit the sushi in your mouth whole. Super cheap and pretty fresh becuase it's always packed with a line up here but it's nammer owned and operated. DEF get biggest bang for your buck here but expect generic sushi. Nothing amazing nothing spectacular but worth it just to see those ginormous sushi rolls.
Decent sushi but Humongous sizes!!! which i definitely like. and in terms of price it's still okay because of the amount that you're getting :)
the place is located near langara, and I've always felt my tummy is satisfied with one big combo over here, not too full and not too hungry :)
first i wanted to order 2 orders because usually i ate 3 rolls in most of the sushi restaurants. but my friend told me to hold on to it and order first 1 of the combo available. totally not disapointed :)
will recommend this place if you're hungry, totally good for value :)
Portions are massive and the roll sizes are almost unmanageable to eat properly. The fish is very fresh and the toro is delicious. Very reasonably priced for the portions you get.
Big rolls! Fridge it!. Love this place! They are affordable and yummy. A great place to go when you want to have sushi, but not the fancy delicate ones. This is the place where you can pig out and still feel good about it because it's not hurting your wallet. Their rolls are big and satisfying. If you order a day ahead, you get 10% off. Remember to put the party trays right into the fridge after you pick it up as it's not kept in the fridge at their place.
I always go there,they have good,fresh food,but price have been increase .
Big Portions!. This is my go-to place for a quick and filling meal for less than $10! The portions for the rolls and sashimi is huge!
Quality sushi for small price. Excellent.
HUGE rolls for decent prices, definitely worth a visit of you are hungry!
Good value, moderate quality.. Cheap, decent quality, huge portions.
Rolls have tons of rice, and they tend to use a bit too much vinegar for my liking. But they're cheap and one can easily feed a person of average appetite for lunch.
Sashimi comes in massive slices, but it's not the freshest tasting. Again, good value.
The portion is twice bigger than what you see at other places. I d be ordering a lot less if u r coming here for the first time. Shared a mixed combo with a guy friend and it was more than enough. Super value!
I love this sushi place the best in town! There's nothing to complain about when it comes to the size and taste of sushi. Besides sashimis are massive! I've never seen any other sushi restaurant offer that portion. Great value, I recommend them to all.
Get full.. This is a place to get full. You generally don't leave here hungry. It's a good value if you want to get stuffed on the cheap.
That said, they still offer good quality for what you pay for. It's not top-notch, but when the rolls are massive you can't complain very much. My only nitpick is that the rice is wetter than other places I've been to. I assume it's because they were running low on rice and had to put some out in a hurry. If you can, order ahead because then it's not a problem and you don't have to sit around in a small space.
Amazing Prices & Very Large Portions. The sushi here is very cheap and for the price you get super large pieces of everything! Tuna sashimi was comparable to mini tuna steaks and the house roll was at least 2 - 3 bites per piece. Everything is served on disposable plates, but for the price you can't expect 5 star dining. A good place for large portions of decent quality sushi at amazing prices!
Always lines after work. This restaurant is small and ideal for take out. If you are planning to get take out after work, around 5pm, I suggest ordering ahead of time and picking up. There's ALWAYS a line here after work. However, they have very fast service if you order when you arrive too. One of our favourite sushi joints!
The massivest. In terms of bang for your buck, this place can't be beat. The fish is above par and for the quantity coming out of it, the speed is great.
Super-sized sashimi & sushi. This sushi joint offers a very good take-out deal: if you order it the day before you get 10% off when you come to pick it up. Very encouraging market tactic. Their sushi and sashimi are bigger than the usual sushi houses, it's comparable to Sushi King on Granville. The sizing is a little too big for my liking, but overall it's not bad. Great for a night in type of food, or picnics!
Best Cheap Sushi in Vancouver. If you're looking for affordable, quick sushi and don't have the time for the all-you-can-eat gauntlets, Samurai Sushi is the best bang for your buck. 7 bucks will get you 5 huge pieces of sashimi and a 5 piece california roll 1 1/2 inch in diametre.
Samurai Sushi. Massive portions at amazing prices, and ALWAYS fresh seafood. I have yet to find a better sashimi or california roll for the taste or price...
Imagine a world where good sushi was cheap as dirt and parasites from contaminated sashimi were not a concern. I hope someday that will be, and the world will be as one. Austerity 2015 is the name of the game this year and while Samurai ain’t good, it sure is cheap and at the risk of angering fellow foodies and contracting parasitic tapeworms from low grade raw fish, I’m about to sing it’s praises. When you can get enough colossal pieces of salmon sashimi and rolls as big as your head to feed 12 people for under $100, you shan’t hear a complaint from me. You run the risk of food poisoning, body invaders, and death yes, but no one ever said austerity measures were a walk in the park. We must all do our part in times of need and if shovelling mass quantities of rice down the gullet is what it takes, so be it. Party Tray D at $42 comes equipped with 54 pieces – half a House Roll, BBQ Salmon Roll, Spicy Tuna Roll, California Roll, Dynamite Roll, Tuna Roll, and 3 each of Salmon, Tuna, and Chopped Scallop, Masago, and Ebi Nigiri. Make no mistake, none of this tastes like it’s made with any sort of quality ingredients and call me a simpleton but I have strong suspicions that any decent type of sushi should not require the aid of a knife and fork. Alas, there I was on a Friday night shovelling sushi like it was going out of style and I’m big enough to admit that I enjoyed every second of it. Let’s not forget about the three orders of Salmon Sashimi because when your grandmother is a tiny asian lady who is built with a stomach strong as bull, this is a must. Coming to around $30, this is practically an entire fish and even though farmed is the first word that comes to mind and quality is the very last, I dig it. Mercury poisoning is a real thing so when you feel it start to take over your body, it might be time to move the party over to the Donburi. At $7.50 a pop
As a student who frequently dines alone, indulging in cheap grub is a pastime of mine haha. Sometimes the occasion just doesn't call for fancy food, yesterday being one of those days. Having only consumed an orange for breakfast, I was starving (more so than usual) so I decided to go to Samurai to fulfill my rice cravings! Yes, rice cravings. They pack so much rice into those things it's like eating 3 bowls of rice. Except it's compacted into a sushi roll lol. Signature Dishes Samurai is famous for their massive rolls the size of softballs! Obviously this isn't going to be authentic fare, but who's here for pressed sushi and fancy nigiri anyways? From what I observed Samurai is run by a Vietnamese family, but I also heard overheard them speaking Cantonese! They have another location in Richmond, called Banzai Sushi. I'll probably do a review on Banzai in the future so I can compare the two to see if they're consistent across locations. Ordering is really easy, they have a visual
Lil’ L and I must have read each others’ minds as we both ordered the Chicken Teriyaki Roll. For $3.50 (I think), it’s a pretty monster sized roll. I know, I know, much like AYCE, it’s not really authentic, but it’s a pretty large, tasty portion (for the price you pay).
Cheap, big sushi...Terrible wasabi (what do you expect?)...Don't expect any good quality sushi...Tends to have inconsistencies, especially rice
firstly, the sushi served here is ENORMOUS & secondly, the sushi is value for MONEY ! my stomach is a little sensitive though. so sometimes, i do have diarrhea when i eat there. this has NEVER occurred to gigi though so guess it’s gotta do with my immune
Instead of heading out for dinner, again, we decided to stay home and get take out instead. Samurai is close and always reliable.
Ahhh. Sushi. Who doesn't love sushi? Samurai Sushi has been around for a long time and I'm sure most people have either been there or heard about it. This place is known for its enormous sushi rolls. One roll can pretty much fill a person up. Sadly, the q
This is one place we expect our boys would love. They like sushi - the more the better. When I suggested we go to Samurai Sushi for lunch, they were happy. They knew that Samurai is the sister restaurant to the Banzai Sushi House in Richmond . Their claim
