I highly recommend the ebi sunomono, dark sweet, caterpillar and the tuna aburi stack. I really enjoy eating here and I hope other people give it a try too.

Friendly and prompt service. Delicious and very reasonably priced food. I also like the location near the sky train and just in yaletown in general.

Ki-Isu is a Korean-owned Japanese restaurant in Yaletown known for their decent sushi at an affordable price. Given its location, it’s hard to come across restaurants that are budget friendly. Of course Vancouver is known for their abundance of Japanese restaurants with over 600 and counting...

Met up with P for dinner after a crazy hectic week. Due to some miscommunication on my part we ended up at Ki-Isu Sushi in Yaletown. I’ve been here once before and it wasn’t bad, plus the place was quite busy for a Thursday evening!. The only downside is that they have no descriptions for their specialty rolls so we had  no idea what was in them.

Best sushi in vancouver. Great quality, unique flavours, customer service could be better to make this place a home run however no complaints as the food makes up for it ten fold.

A nice little sushi restaurant in Yaletown. Sheepie and I arrived around 6pm on a Wednesday, and there was only one table with a customer there, but as soon as we sat down, there were more that came – mostly take outs. It was a nice last-days-of-summer weather, so we sat on their patio. The customers that were already there had 2 dogs, so anyone wishing to stop by while walking their dogs, this would be a perfect stop!

I can happily say I found another Japanese restaurant to try out with my boyfriend! This place is called Ki-Isu Japanese Restaurant which is located in Yaletown. Based on my observations, I do believe this is an authentic Japanese establishment. We went on a Friday evening and even though we did not have to wait for a table, this place filled up fast soon after we ordered.

First off, we ordered a Tuna and Salmon Sashimi ($8.95) which tasted quite fresh, but the pieces were cut into thinner and smaller slices compared to other Japanese restaurants.

Work nearby - very convenient. I've eaten at Ki-Isu many times for lunch & it has always been good with very pleasant service. I ate dinner there the other night & while the food was good & the service was stellar, we noticed 3 of the sushi chefs leave the restaurant by the front door WITH THEIR APRONS ON & they went for a smoke break. Looks like they walked around the block & then came back in through the kitchen. 1) They should *not* be leaving the restaurant with their aprons on as this is a health hazard & 2) I sincerely hope they all washed their hands...It made me wonder whether I would want to eat there again unfortunately.

We had the tuna tataki salad which was amazing ! The Alaska roll had cream cheese in it and the salmon was on the outside opposed to the inside usually ! The dynamite roll rice was on the inside and not the outside ( Made no taste difference! ) the dynamite & Cali roll were great! Service was great too! I've been here a couple times and the quality of the food is consistently good !

Beautiful food but lack of attention to details!. For Dinner Box A, the chicken teriyaki was really dry and tasted like jerky. For the makisushi (Spicy tuna, dynamite roll and california rolls) that came with the dinner box, the combination of ingredients used was okay. But the rolls were not pressed enough to keep the structure of sushi rice intact. Sunomono, salad and tempura were normal. Misosiru was a bit light on miso for me. Chirashi don was beautifully presented! And contained 3 types of fish, which were fresh. It would be great if they have a deluxe chirashi since they have a good selection of nigiri sushi. Will go back and explore more! ;-D

Bad Service, Good Food. I like Ki-Isu, and will return because the food quality can have a little imagination, the atmosphere with jazz music is nice and it's perfect when you've been hanging around David Lam Park or the Sea Wall and want to duck in for a bite. The price is, $$, expect $15 for lunch. The service is bad, not terrible, but bad, 5/10, and the waitressing staff has got attitude. I don't tip when I go there- maybe that's why I've consistently got bad service there! The food is relatively clean, 7/10, sometimes a little too much oil in the tempura and other items, but the portions are what to expect when downtown, and it isn't too tampered with. Their lunch specials are where it's at- especially the Koroke, it's delecious. I'll go back, but not for food coma- probably to meet friends- and not as a regular spot.

Had dinner box A. Chicken teriyaki was really tasty. Lighter and more peppery than usual. Not like the exact saucy chicken teriyaki you get at every other Japanese restaurant in Vancouver. Tempura was good and rolls were good too. Couldn't finish the box because it was so filling. Price was a bit higher than typical box, but also had more food than usual.

Amazing black rice sushi. This place is my favorite sushi. Black rice is amazing. The ebi gyoza is to die for. Even the pickled ginger makes my mouth water. Service is great. Outdoor little patio is also nice on sunny days.

My friend recommended the Tuna Tataki Salad. And he did not steer us wrong. It was awesome. The tuna was melt-in-your-mouth good!

Perfect spot for a cold day in need of some miso soup or a nice lunch outdoors with a scenic view of a waterfront and park.

I was in Yaletown last week looking for a quick bite for dinner, and my friends brought me to Ki-isu Japanese. I didn't really have a high expectation for Japanese restaurants in Yaletown. I've been to one that's

Ki Isu Japanese Restaurant is a Yaletown joint that's doing its best to set itself apart from the yet another Vancouver sushi restaurant crowd. It has a tall order. Ki Isu is attempting to stand out with an avant-garde menu that pushes the definition of traditional sushi. Such folly can result in either a refreshingly new experience, or a dismal failure. It's risky business. Ki Isu serves up the standard sushi restaurant menu: Nigiri, Maki, Donburi and Sashimi. A friend turned me onto their Seasonal Specials - you know, those house specials where well-meaning chefs turn a wonderfully simple traditional dish into a disastrous, inedible plate. No so, this time. ( Above: Toro Stack - Black Brown Rice, Toro, Green Onion, Nori, Garlic, Avocado with Unagi Sauce ) Case and I ordered the curiously named Toro Stack: a plate of black and brown rice topped with fresh, roughly chopped toro , green onion, garlic, chunks of avocado, topped with shredded nori and drizzled wi
