The food was great and service greater, started with Calamari, then the main arrived shortly after. We ordered the beef souvlaki for her and the mixed platter for me, awesome. We went back and forth about dessert as are stomachs were at that point, however when on vacation we usually do get something. We asked to have vanilla ice cream with the lemon Greek style pie. Wow what a treat... Would definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone who maybe in the area traveling. 5 stars for this 4th ave gem.
Best Greek food in the city and I've tried lots . The staff and management really care about quality
This is a Greek restaurant located in Kits, on 4th Avenue. It was quite empty when I visited during lunch time: there were only 1-2 other tables that were occupied. In addition to a regular menu consisting of popular Greek dishes, they also have a small lunch menu. I had their Small Canneloni Genovese and Souvlaki (Chicken Thigh). The food wasn't fantastic but still very good, and the prices were fair. Service-wise, the food did take a little long to come out, but the server I had was quite friendly and attentive. All in all, I definitely think that this is a restaurant worth checking out.
Small Canneloni Genovese ($12.50):
3.5/5
This was filled with ground veal & pork and is served with garlic toast. The pasta was well cooked and tender, and had a great amount of ground meat. There was also a very good amount of tomato sauce, which was flavourful. I also really enjoyed the layer of cheese on top and the toast, which was well buttered.
Souvlaki, Chicken Thigh ($14.50):
3.5/5
This comes with your choice of either lamb, chicken breast, chicken thighs, beef, or pork (which they were actually out of), either pita or fries, tzatziki, and Greek salad. I had the chicken thighs and pita. The chicken was, of course, tender and juicy, and had a pretty good grilled/charred flavour. Unfortunately, I did find it to be a bit underseasoned and bland. The salad was well dressed and had a good amount of cheese; however, I'm not sure if it was feta that they used for the cheese was a little bland and not salty. The pita was fluffy and chewy; I do wish that they could have served the tzatziki on the side instead of on the pita itself, however.
Summary:
Food: 3.5/5
Price: 4/5
Service: 3.5/5
Overall: 3.5/5
Recommendations: Canneloni Genovese, Souvlaki
My mom has been spending anywhere from 6 to 8 months of the year back home in Turkey for the last 10 years now. She works during the tax season doing peoples personal income tax which gives her this sort of flexibility in lifestyle. I also have a month long trip to Europe coming right up and so since I wouldn’t see her again until around Christmas time we figured a dinner was in order. After our latest dinner over at Novo for Mother’s Day she immediately vetoed Italian since she wanted something a little more hearty. I suggested Simpatico, a small little Greek restaurant along 4th since I’d just eaten over at Olympia Pizza the night before and wanted to try somewhere different to compare while the food was still fresh in my mind. Yes, I know, Turks and Greeks can play nice, we don’t hold grudges! Heck I’m part Greek on my dad’s side so technically I should hate myself, right?

Really enjoyed my roast lamb lunch special today! It was delicious and more than I could eat! Thank you Sandra Stefanopoulos
Food is amazing here, especially the pizzas. You have to try out mythos beer if they have it in stock too.
Love it, I go here all the time
Delicious for 30+ years. Other restaurants have come and gone, but Simpatico has remained a favourite for over 30 years, with its menu unchanged. The pizza, especially the Mona's Smile, is just as stunningly delicious as ever. Hummus and pita are the best I've had anywhere. A truly special place that has stood the test of time.
Roast lamb. My friends and I all ordered the roast lamb for take out and it was amazing! Cooked perfectly. The portions are quite large.
THE BEST!. Having travelled to Greece and island hopping a number of times- i was sooo happy to experience an authentic greek restaurant at home
what i recommend:
hummus- unbelievable, cannot figure out for the life of me how they make it sooooo good (apparently they use potato)
pizza- whole wheat crust is to dieeeee for
salmon- a huge piece of salmon with some delicious greek rice and potatoes. HUGE portion and great price
spare ribs- yum
baklava- pretty much the most delicious thing on earth
GREAT food, service and experience!
Nice Greek restaurant that's been around for YEARS in Kits. Comfortable interior (great place to take a date) and the food is usually good. I like the mixed souvlaki and their avgolemono (αυγολέμονο) soup is not bad as well. The one downside is the truly clueless young male server that we've had the misfortune to be waited upon by on a couple of occasions. He was so incompetent it was actually comedic to see how many mistakes he made at every table. I assume he is the owner's son, as there is no way he wouldn't have otherwise been let go on his first day! Anyway, all of the other servers are quite good and Simpatico Ristorante is a safe bet for traditional Greek cuisine.
Truly Kitz. What can you say of a place that has been in operation for something like twenty-five years or more? It has a tried-and-true formula, satisfies simple expectation (aka Greek 'cuisine') and is just a kind of laid back place. It's in bad need of a restaurant makeover, and Gordon Ramsay would likely have a heart attack at the sheer old-fashionedness of this place, but it's somehow endearing like an old shoe.
We love Simpatico’s food and ambience.
The service is great. I always miss the cornish hen after my first try:D
