3.7/5 Wow I like this place sooooo much. The menu items are a bit "odd" selection which I had never seen other places in Van. You can get a meatball with tuna meat, and you also can order their " signature" frozen apple with ice cream stuffing. Highly recommend!!!!!
Wonderful atmosphere and the burger was fantastic. Highly recommend for a group of friends looking for a good night ! Beer selection could be a bit larger especially with all the great craft breweries in Van!
“Mamie Taylor’s” is one of those places I like recommend when suggesting a unique spot. A place for great food and drink, with original offerings and a stand out theme; that is also a little under the radar. Most memorable for me is their taxidermy pieces and their absinthe flights. However having wild life stuffed and mounted on the walls and above your head isn’t for everyone, as is drinking liquorice flavoured spirits. But for those who relish the different, like myself, their is a strong appreciation for the place.

Great value for happy hour! Their $6 house red could be $7 and I woudnt bat an eye. Most $6 happy hours wine is probably more like $5 or even $4.50. Their sliders is a breaded tomoto slider. Tasted like a menage a trois of beef slider, fish burger and buffalo wing. Slider bun with arugla, breaded tomato with nice crunch but texture of tomato could pass for fish in blind eye taste test , basted with buffalo sauce. I tasty bite definitely. Like a 'smut' slider.
Ham grenades were fantastic warm, crispy and cool. The ham gave it an subtle smokyness, crispy crust and soft inside tator, geled together with garlic mayor and pickled something to cut the creaminess of the potato and sour cream. Another tasty bite
Chicken wing had nice batter but the chicken was nothing special but for 1 dolla, that make me HOLLA!
Lmab meatball was moist, nice little sauce but couldnt taste the date. If the date flacour qs more present, ita sweetness would have tied the lamb and sauce together. So it was pretty good but fell a bit short but for $1 , who can complain except a cheap ass. Im Asian but not that cheap

We were off to an interesting start for our Chinatown Cocktail Crawl. Although we got distracted by the Absinthe Flight and the Bourbon Flight, and tasted only one cocktail, I did enjoy the quirkiness and fetch the idea behind their "modern American" approach on food and drinks. And I am interested in coming back for their happy hour menu, with pub fare that only costs a looney or a tooney a pop. And I'm sure the stuffed animals on the walls will be nicer to me next time, well in my head anyway.
Mamie Taylor’s in Vancouver Chinatown is all about unapologetic, deep, rich southern dishes. It is located at 251 East Georgia Street (across from Phnom Penh and beside The Ramen Butcher). Inside this pub / kitchen hybrid are high top tables and bar seats in the front and leather seats and a private corner in the back with lots of donated taxidermy.
Super juicy fried chicken!! Pate portion is really generous too for the price. But the pork chop a friend ordered was the most impressive, not even the slightest bit dry- will try that next time.
If you've ever grabbed brunch in Vancouver than you know that it can be harder than getting your hands on weapons of mass destruction because there goes at least sixty minutes of your day just standing in line for a runny yolk that you can show to all your friends on instagram to prove your worth.
Not at Mamie Taylor's though where we had to wait a total of zero minutes to be seated. And all I seem to do is win win win no matter what here because my brunch only cost me $13, which is basically the same thing as catching a unicorn in one of Vancouver's trendiest neighbourhoods, Chinatown.
The decor of this place looks a little like a funky hunting lodge and I feel the menu reflects this. Southern style american food with a modern unusual spin on it. Cocktails are great and worth a visit on their own right. Food is rich in flavour and has good presentation
Solid cocktail list. A great place for brunch and dinners with unique twists to American comfort food. The fried chicken is always a hit (the juiciest white meat I've ever enjoyed), grilled steak/chop with accompanying veg has always been consistently reliable. Not the best variety for non-meat eaters.
