Peaceful Restaurant

Great service and food!. Having been to the other locations, my family thought we would try this Kits location. This place is much better than the locations on Broadway and 5th Avenue. Ever since new people took over, we found that the service was poor at the Broadway and 5th Avenue locations, and the food didn't taste as good as it did before. We tried this Kits location, and first, it's much bigger and not as busy. We were seated right away (granted, we came at 8pm on Saturday), and the service was terrific! The food was also better tasting. Although they screwed up one of the dishes we ordered, they happily took it back and made us the dish we actually ordered. Minor mistake, but great service. Will be coming back to this location again!

Yup, it's peaceful. We're big fans of peaceful on broadway so we were very happy to see one open up in kits, where there aren't many options for good chinese (or good anything, really...)

peaceful on kits is in a much bigger space than peaceful on broadway, and we went went they appeared understaffed. we get that, though. in your first week of operation there are bound to be some kinks. the kitchen was backed up and staff were in a bit of a panic, but very apologetic about it. anyway, that sort of thing happens in opening weeks, so I wouldn't fault them for bad service just yet. let them get on their feet.

to start we had a beef roll. you should probably get a beef roll any time you come to peaceful. it's a fried pancake (think green onion cake) rolled up with thinly sliced beef, green onions, and hoisin sauce. very tasty! make sure you order two if there are more than two of you eating.

for the meal we had dan dan noodles, chinese forest vegetables, and general tsao's chicken. general tsao's is super-americanized but hey, sometimes you just want it. it arrived fresh from the kitchen and still crispy, despite being laden in sauce. awesome! the vegetable dish was well cooked but relatively unremarkable. the dan dan noodles, as anyone who's eaten at peaceful broadway would expect, were fantastic - very savory, very peanutty, with a lot of heat, and made with chewy noodles hand-made to order. at less than $15 for a dish, they're a steal of a deal. where are you going to find hand-made pasta in this city for less than $15 a plate?

we highly recommend peaceful in kits (and peaceful on broadway). peaceful in kits may still need a week or two to sort out their opening staffing issues. if you could never get in to peaceful on broadway because the line was too long, hop on the 99 and come up to kitsilano!

Beef rolls live up to the hype. Flavours in the Kung Pao were varied and delicious. Ingredients fresh and tasty!
