Hot Chocolate Festival!!
What the llama and hot yoda as pictured!
Creative, well made with quality products in a cute designed cup. Almost too adorable to drink. Each hot chocolate came with a pineapple surprise and chocolate frog respectively.
I personally enjoy my hot
chocolates made more traditionally as I found both these drinks a tad bit on the sweet side but nevertheless, the visual treat in itself was worth giving these limited drinks a try.
We came here for high tea for a birthday. The food was awesome, we have zero complaints and enjoyed every bite! At the end they brought out a complimentary birthday treat, it was a nice touch. The tea was good, but the food is what made it memorable. We could recommend and come back.
my absolute favorite place for cakes, macarons & tea. better taste, quality, value & service than Laduree Vancouver in my opinion (the only thing Laduree got going is the packaging).
their seasonal specials are awesome (i look forward to their cherry blossom macarons every spring!).
* highly recommend : cake = Vancouver Fog and Matcha Raspberry / macarons = lavender, rose, vancouver fog, and earl grey cassis / tea = raspberry honeybush and rose peony *
the only downside is that they got rid of their afternoon tea service (not so long ago) which was the best one i’ve ever had in Canada. i miss it so much...please bring it back ~* 💛 [*^_^*]
Whilst looking for a last minute surprise birthday cake for the man, I stumbled upon Soirette as a popular recommendation amongst “Best Cake in Vancouver” blog articles online. I quickly looked through their cake flavours and called in for a pick-up order the next day. It was a hard decision as they have lots of great options, but with the help of a lovely lady on the phone, I ordered their 6” chocolate hazelnut cake as my boyfriend loves Purdy’s hedgehogs. I also called in a second time that day for the little customizations of extra praline macarons (usually comes with only one macaron) and gold flakes. Their staff were very friendly and helpful with accommodating my last minute requests. I was very happy with the outcome, the boyfriend and everyone at his birthday dinner was impressed as well! The praline macarons on top were phenomenal, I can’t wait to try their other flavours! The cake itself was moist with little pieces of hazelnuts in between bites. The sweetness was well-balanced as the buttercream and chocolate drizzle on top was not overwhelming at all. Now for the price tag .. it was definitely a splurge for a 6” cake at $85 (with customizations of 5 extra macarons and $15 for adding the gold leaf) - but without the customizations, it is usually $58. Depending on the occasion and the person whom it’s for, I feel like
it’s definitely worth the extra bucks for being exxxtrraaa. The presentation and taste speaks for itself! If you want to check out how much of an eye-catching piece their cakes are, their instagram is @lovesoirette. I can’t wait to have another birthday/celebration to order a cake for from Soirette, and I am also looking forward on getting my hands on their macarons!
I’m obsessed with macarons! Very pleased to find this Vancouver gem! Tasty macarons with a huge variety! Great tea selections as well! Would highly recommend!
So glad I stopped by this place on my way home from downtown, the other day. The interior is bright and clean and cozy. Although it was pouring down rain that day (what's new in Vancouver) it was warm and welcoming inside the cafe. Ended up getting a 1/2 dozen of macarons to try out. The Sakura Blossom macaron was the best macaron I have ever had in my life. I wish I had bought a dozen of them!!! The rest of the macarons were good but nothing spectacular (I mean it's pretty hard to follow up after the flavour of that Sakura macaron). I also heard they do a nice high tea - will have to check that out one day. Aside from the Sakura macaron, I would say I do prefer Faubourg's flavours but when downtown, I'll return to Soirette.
Delicious macarons and drinks. I came here for the hot chocolate festival and tried the "D'oh hot chocolate" and it was perfect. It even came with a marshmallow for dipping. 😋☕️
I will definitely come back again
I’ve always been curious about Soirette, but it was always a little out of the way for me. The shop is cute, with a soft pastel theme and elegant shabby chic decorations – perfect for an afternoon escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.
[...] I ordered the Perfect Peach, and Julia ordered the Sourpuss. We each traded a sip of each other’s, because both flavours sounded so good. And holy hell they were amazing!
The Perfect Peach was the perfect blend of rich, creamy, white hot chocolate featuring Cocoa Barry Zephyr with strong peach notes. I know I’m a blasphemer but if I’m in need of a pick-me-up, I’ll take hot chocolate over tea any day. And I would take the Perfect Peach every day! I’m still giddy over how yummy this hot chocolate was.

Visited for the hot chocolate festival 2016 and the tamarind dark hot chocolate was so delicious! It wasn't too sweet and was nice and rich. The tamarind provided a nice, tangy touch that was the perfect punch of flavour. Took home a half dozen macarons for the family and we really enjoyed them. The flavours are strong and I found them to be less sweet than most others that I've tried. Our favourite was the black tea lemon :)
The desserts were so good here. I forgot specifically what I ate but I'm sure anything you get here will be good. And also the barista was great at giving us suggestions on the desserts as well. I did not have a chance to try the macarons, though I wouldn't mind coming again just to try them out.
After having lunch with the girlfriend and her friend at Acacia Fillo Bar, we were roaming around downtown to find a dessert place. Soirette was on my list of places to try, who doesn't crave Macarons? I shared a box of 6 macarons - Raspberry, Vancouver fog, Matchah, Pistachio, Cafe mocha and Smore. While at it I also got a Green Tea Tiramisu and a Green tea rose flourless mouse cake thing. The Macarons were good. The cake was good. The Tiramisu not so much.
They're having a pop up shop at Oakridge! Chewy Macarons! :)) the Madeleine's are quite good too the flavour I got was the rose one very unique :) hope they'll open another location closer to to van!
First time discovering this precocious tea and macaron house in Vancouver, and was incredibly impressed by both the presentation and the availability of such a wide assortment of flavours of macarons. Beautifully crafted, and true to their palates, this place is definitely a must-try!
I have always been wanting to go to Soirette to try out the macarons after seeing many people upload pictures of it but never got a chance to. Since my sister was in the city, what better way than to explore new cafes together?
This is probably one of my favorite dessert places in vancouver. They have so much macarons and desserts to choose from! And everything they make is just too pretty to eat! And of course they all taste amazing too :p give them a try if you are nearby or drop by to pick up some sweets to go!
There was a large selection of macarons when we entered the store which made us very excited. We got one of each. My favourite was the s'more. The pastry was delicate and the filling was smooth. Just how macarons should taste.
Macarons were quite good. Not the best I've ever had, but I would definitely come back. The lime basil and earl grey ones were my favourites. I also had an iced latte which was okay.
One of the more unique high teas in Vancouver and provides more intricate pastries and finger sandwiches than most places. The set up was beautiful and each little treat was so unique. The price tag however, was more hefty than most
Always in and out of soirette when I'm in Vancouver because of how great their macarons are! I personally enjoy them better than Thierry... they aren't as sweet and have a great amount to ensure freshness. They have afternoon tea which I can't wait to give a try.
I’ve never made it to Soirette before because the location was slightly out of the way in the Coal Harbour area but I was eating at Aki Japanese Restaurant and Soirette happened to be down the block so it was the perfect opportunity to drop by. They seem to be mostly known for their macarons and they also do afternoon tea as well. I love how cute the store is!
All the flavors I tried were delicious! They were chewy and didn't crack! Love the fancy box too :) might be my second fave macaron place now after Thierry!
The last macaron shop we visited for International Macaron Day was Soirette. Each macaron you buy ($2 each) will be donated to make-a-wish foundation. A small macaron shop but they served lots of desserts and drinks on their menu. They also offer high tea/afternoon tea.
I like it!. Right when I came in I was greeted by a waitress and she was extremely nice! I asked her for her opinion on which macaron I should tried and she recommended me the creme brulee macaron! So I ordered the creme brulee and the pistachio macaron! AND I HAVE TO SAY THAT THE DESIGN ON THE MACARON IS JUST SO BEAUTIFUL!! The waitress was so delicate with handling the macaron and she offered me water too! I really love the customer service here! The only down side I have to say is I didn't really like how to slideshow from the tv kept on changing! I wanted to look at the menu but it kept on changing to their logo so it took a while for me to see it but it's alright! Anyways, the macaron was seriously so good!! It just melts in your mouth when you take a bit and oh my goodness!!!! I'll definitely come back here to try their other flavours!
I tried 3 items cherry blossom, raspberry and matcha
TRY THE MATCHA it is pretty good if you like green tea
A bit smaller than Thierry but more variety(Thierry always sells out of great flavours) will definitely come back to try their mango)
CUTE!. This place just made me so happy!!! Macarons are the treat that you can save up for and treat yourself to once a year! This place makes the experience so special! The walls are cute, the display is cute, they have people eating little tea time treats everywhere (cute) and they even serve free tea in cute little cups. Macarons are a special treat fro special days or occasions and the experience is just as enjoyable as eating them! Even the take away box was so cute!
Fantastic macarons!. Beautiful little store full of deliciously amazing macarons! I like this place a lot and have to recommend the black forest and pistachio macarons! I've tasted Thierry and a few other macaron places around Vancouver and think Soirette do it best! The boxes are super cute and the prices are, well.. macaron prices. I love this place for a nice girly catch up or a treat when you're feeling a little blue..!
Amazing macarons! After reading one raving review after another about Soirette, I figured I should stop in to see what the fuss was all about. I dropped in at a quiet time, which was perfect because deciding which flavours to get was extremely tough. In the end, I bought a 6-pack of yuza, mango black pepper, pistachio, chocolate, caramel fleur de sel, and earl grey cassis. The texture of the macarons was perfectly consistent - the best I've had in the city - a light, crisp exterior carefully embracing a soft, not-too-chewy interior packing huge flavour. My favourite was the mango black pepper, surprisingly - this has an amazing mango cream that is subtlely complemented by the peppercorns. I would also recommend the earl grey cassis and caramel fleur de sel - both of which have a dark chocolate ganache waiting inside. I have to say - the chocolate was a bit of a disappointment because the other 5 were outstanding. I was expecting more of a rich flavour, but felt it was lacking compared to what I've tasted from Thomas Haas. Otherwise, this is definitely a must-try.
White truffle baby!. The other flavors are alright but the only reason I come are for the white truffle flavored macarons.
It's a tiny place so we bought a dozen and sat out in the sun to enjoy them. Delish! Personal favorites are: Strawberry cheesecake, Caramel, Lemon and Mango with pepper. Yum!
Very beautiful and tasty macarons! First time having white truffle macarons and it's suprisingly good!
Delicious!. The macarons were great! They had a nice texture, and I loved all the interesting flavors they had.
Macarons are okay. It's a little too sweet for me and I love macarons. Also, the shell crumbles easily so it wasn't that easy taking bites without making a mess. Macarons could be better. I tried their organic matcha latte with soy milk - it was good! I really like the atmosphere and their interior and cute packaging. Employees were very friendly. :) wish they had more seats though.
Macaron Heaven. This is a lovely place. What else can I say small but personable. Very friendly staff handling the masses efficiently today (their Grand Opening). The macaroons were the equal of the best in the city without the pretence. They were glorious crispy and divinely flavoured. I loved each and every bite. Their tea selection was good and interesting.
The seating area is small but very nicely done. Another wonderful addition to the Vancouver pastry scene.
Texture wise, the macarons are denser than from when I had them last. The outer layer of the shell was still crisp, but the inner portion of the shell, the part which sandwiches the filling, had become rather heavy. Perhaps it had sat in the display case too long and gathered moisture…? Nonetheless, Soirette is known for their exquisite macarons...
I ventured to Soirette Macarons and Tea on the second last day of the Vancouver Hot Chocolate Festival to try out Soirette’s hot chocolate creation. The hot chocolate was named “ Po-tay-to Po-tah-to ” and was made with Michel Cluizel ‘Mokaya’ chocolate and flavoured with sage, cinnamon and purple potatoes. It was supposed to be served with a toasted yam marshmellow, but they ran out so a sweet potato macaron was a substitute. The presentation of the drink was beautiful and the hot chocolate and purple potato blend was delicious. It was a right mix of hot chocolate and purple potatoe flavor. The sweet potato macaron was light, crispy on the outside and a great pairing to the hot chocolate drink. I saw that Soirette also had some creations for Valentine’s Day including a ‘L’amour’ Flourless Chocolate Torte and Rasberry and Lychee Mousse Macaron Cake. I also saw some cute Macaron heart pops for sale. I was very surprised at how good this hot chocolate was. I normally am not a hot chocolate fan, but Po-tay-to Po-tah-to was definitely delicious because of the wonderful incorporation of the purple potato flavor. I hope they participate in the hot chocolate festival again next year! ... middle tier is made up of turkey cranberry sandwich, apricot scones, and pumpkin mousse. Out of the three tiers I have to say that this tier is the most fulfilling one (maybe due to the amounts of carbs?). The scones were warm and not overly sweet, and I loved the mini macaron shell on the pumpkin mousse.
Soirette is a tiny, hard to find treasure in the Vancouver world of afternoon high tea. By hard to find, I mean it’s a distance to walk to within downtown. Soirette is the best place for high tea that I have tried (without obliterating my wallet).
The first thing i noticed about the macarons were that they were very inconsistent in size and the filling. You can tell from the picture that the rose macaron barely has any filling in it comparison to the other ones. For the price that these macarons cost ($23 for a box of 12) these things are tiny! These were significantly smaller than the ones at Faubourg and Thierry. They're also much lighter in colour and all veer towards a pastel colour scheme. Texture wise, I found the shells to be similar in texture to Faubourg. They were chewy, but not as moist as Thierry's. The tea flavours were beautifully executed but the other flavours needed some work. The rose, cappuccino, and mint chocolate were my favourites. The flavours that I didn't like were Himalayan Salt, Salted Caramel, Lavender and Lemon. I actually spit out the Himalayan Salt one haha. It had a line of salt placed on top of the macaron, but when I bit into, it tasted as if I were spooning a mouthful of salt into my
...Soirette is an adorable little café where women with authentic designer purses go to drink tea and eat fancy desserts...
unfortunately, i don't remember much about these macarons except that the texture was not amazing. the flavours were pretty good but it didn't have the perfect crunch when being bit into.
I have been trying to visit "Soirette" for a month now, but my time has never met up with their store hours, that is until today. From looks alone you know they are the purveyors of pretty. Outside their blue and white shop sits multicolored patio chairs cast in iron and coloured in a tropical orange, green, and purple. Equal parts decoration and outdoor seating. Walking through my face lights up. A girl, a macaron lover, and a photographer's dream. A jar of maracons in the window, its layers forms a gradient in rainbow. Sample wedding cakes in pastels and lined with macarons. Macarons used to craft a miniature tree. And the rest in take out boxes, on plates of their customers, and in a back lit showcase. I was overloaded with giddy girly pleasure. I wish I had the time to sit and enjoy a tower of treats and tea, like the only group of girls in the shop today. But alas I had to settle with 6 to go and a slice of cake. The options were overwhelming, I wanted to try them all and found
My personal favourite was the rose flavoured one. It was delicately flavoured, so it wasn’t too overwhelming.
Since it was apparently National Macaron Day, and they were giving away macarons for donations to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, we headed to Soirette! The only pet peeve about eating Macarons is that I find the 2 dollar standard for one piece outrageous but whatever…I digress. Today, we have Mango Passionfruit (the yellow one), Chai (the brown one with no markings on it), Earl Grey (the blue one), and Bailey’s Espresso (the brown one with flakes). The Mango Passionfruit had a very light sweetness to it while still managing to not be overpowering. The Macaron itself was very delicate and flaky (me likey! ) The Chai, much like the tea, was very flowery and is a flavour I can see myself considering as a favourite (I have a soft spot for Chai) The Earl Grey one was sweet, but it lacked any taste resembling Earl Grey. Like the sweetness is noticeable, but it’s hard to pinpoint exactly what

When we walked in, all the seats were taken already, luckily we were just going to buy and leave anyways. I got a dozen macarons ($22), and most of what I saw at the store was macarons and a few desserts...
Seeing them in the photo I would've sworn they were the snowskin macarons because of the pale look to these but I was blown away at how they actually were inside. With a tiny macaron in the middle surrounded by the filling, the textures mixed from crunchy to smooth to produce an overall highly satisfying product. The black sesame flavouring was very prominent which made it to die for, I could have easily ate 5 of those - in one bite. The pairing with the red bean allowed a harmonious combination of flavours in my mouth. At $6 each, I seriously would have bought more if they were a bit cheaper. But seeing how it was limited edition and only once a year, this treat for my friends and I was worth it.
The white hello kitty print has definitely attracted some customers to those who are a fan of the line of merchandise. Saw a group of girls literally jumping up and down awaiting their hello kitty mooncakes to be packed and ready to be attacked with their smartphone cameras. The combinati
It’s a small cafe but pretty comfortable.
I have no idea about the cost or the procedures of making macarons.
I was very surprise when I saw the waitress threw away macarons which only had a little crack
My friend even noted that he may even get his mother’s day gift from here. If this place were a little more accessible, I’d come here all the time.
Recently, Soirette has been experimenting with other macaron-based desserts (which they’re launching today). This is where it gets interesting – they incorporate the macarons into the dessert, instead of grains. For example, I had tiramisu for the first time since going paleo – and it tasted just like the real thing! The chocolate truffle dessert was good too, but I did find both desserts to be overly sweet. It would’ve been nice if the sweetness was more subtle.
The Final Verdict: Probably the best macarons you can get in (downtown) vancouver. They don’t use any dyes and make all their macarons in house. The teas are also of high quality. A must try!
The scone was light and not too tart with the cranberry addition. I love the rose scented butter as the rose was not too overpowering and the butter was smooth like... butter? Ok, I have no better comparison. Smooth like silk? Yeah, smooth like silky butter. The raspberry jam tasted quite nice, very fresh and lots of raspberry flavour without being too sweet and a bit of tartness, matching very well with the scone. One of my favourites of the afternoon.
I'm not going to list the names so you'll have to wait till you get a chance to eat em! Anyway, THESE ARE AMAZING! I had to capitalize it cause they are so good. Yes, they are expensive and much smaller than Theirry's which everyone is used to BUT I don't care.
Texture for these macarons are also very good. I would recommend this place for a nice catch up or a very casual date.
Lots of macaron flavours to choose from. My favourite was the rocher macaron. Ambience was excellent. Will be back for tea time and other desserts.
