Hot Chocolate Festival!!
What the llama and hot yoda as pictured!
Creative, well made with quality products in a cute designed cup. Almost too adorable to drink. Each hot chocolate came with a pineapple surprise and chocolate frog respectively.
I personally enjoy my hot
chocolates made more traditionally as I found both these drinks a tad bit on the sweet side but nevertheless, the visual treat in itself was worth giving these limited drinks a try.
We came here for high tea for a birthday. The food was awesome, we have zero complaints and enjoyed every bite! At the end they brought out a complimentary birthday treat, it was a nice touch. The tea was good, but the food is what made it memorable. We could recommend and come back.
my absolute favorite place for cakes, macarons & tea. better taste, quality, value & service than Laduree Vancouver in my opinion (the only thing Laduree got going is the packaging).
their seasonal specials are awesome (i look forward to their cherry blossom macarons every spring!).
* highly recommend : cake = Vancouver Fog and Matcha Raspberry / macarons = lavender, rose, vancouver fog, and earl grey cassis / tea = raspberry honeybush and rose peony *
the only downside is that they got rid of their afternoon tea service (not so long ago) which was the best one i’ve ever had in Canada. i miss it so much...please bring it back ~* 💛 [*^_^*]
Whilst looking for a last minute surprise birthday cake for the man, I stumbled upon Soirette as a popular recommendation amongst “Best Cake in Vancouver” blog articles online. I quickly looked through their cake flavours and called in for a pick-up order the next day. It was a hard decision as they have lots of great options, but with the help of a lovely lady on the phone, I ordered their 6” chocolate hazelnut cake as my boyfriend loves Purdy’s hedgehogs. I also called in a second time that day for the little customizations of extra praline macarons (usually comes with only one macaron) and gold flakes. Their staff were very friendly and helpful with accommodating my last minute requests. I was very happy with the outcome, the boyfriend and everyone at his birthday dinner was impressed as well! The praline macarons on top were phenomenal, I can’t wait to try their other flavours! The cake itself was moist with little pieces of hazelnuts in between bites. The sweetness was well-balanced as the buttercream and chocolate drizzle on top was not overwhelming at all. Now for the price tag .. it was definitely a splurge for a 6” cake at $85 (with customizations of 5 extra macarons and $15 for adding the gold leaf) - but without the customizations, it is usually $58. Depending on the occasion and the person whom it’s for, I feel like
it’s definitely worth the extra bucks for being exxxtrraaa. The presentation and taste speaks for itself! If you want to check out how much of an eye-catching piece their cakes are, their instagram is @lovesoirette. I can’t wait to have another birthday/celebration to order a cake for from Soirette, and I am also looking forward on getting my hands on their macarons!
I’m obsessed with macarons! Very pleased to find this Vancouver gem! Tasty macarons with a huge variety! Great tea selections as well! Would highly recommend!
So glad I stopped by this place on my way home from downtown, the other day. The interior is bright and clean and cozy. Although it was pouring down rain that day (what's new in Vancouver) it was warm and welcoming inside the cafe. Ended up getting a 1/2 dozen of macarons to try out. The Sakura Blossom macaron was the best macaron I have ever had in my life. I wish I had bought a dozen of them!!! The rest of the macarons were good but nothing spectacular (I mean it's pretty hard to follow up after the flavour of that Sakura macaron). I also heard they do a nice high tea - will have to check that out one day. Aside from the Sakura macaron, I would say I do prefer Faubourg's flavours but when downtown, I'll return to Soirette.
Delicious macarons and drinks. I came here for the hot chocolate festival and tried the "D'oh hot chocolate" and it was perfect. It even came with a marshmallow for dipping. 😋☕️
I will definitely come back again
I’ve always been curious about Soirette, but it was always a little out of the way for me. The shop is cute, with a soft pastel theme and elegant shabby chic decorations – perfect for an afternoon escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.
[...] I ordered the Perfect Peach, and Julia ordered the Sourpuss. We each traded a sip of each other’s, because both flavours sounded so good. And holy hell they were amazing!
The Perfect Peach was the perfect blend of rich, creamy, white hot chocolate featuring Cocoa Barry Zephyr with strong peach notes. I know I’m a blasphemer but if I’m in need of a pick-me-up, I’ll take hot chocolate over tea any day. And I would take the Perfect Peach every day! I’m still giddy over how yummy this hot chocolate was.

Visited for the hot chocolate festival 2016 and the tamarind dark hot chocolate was so delicious! It wasn't too sweet and was nice and rich. The tamarind provided a nice, tangy touch that was the perfect punch of flavour. Took home a half dozen macarons for the family and we really enjoyed them. The flavours are strong and I found them to be less sweet than most others that I've tried. Our favourite was the black tea lemon :)
