Amazing food! Probably the best Indian restaurant in Vancouver!
The Bangara Chicken is to die for
Some of the most legit food and service I have experienced at any local Indian restaurant. This will now become my go to. Im travelling from Surrey to eat here... worth it!
I do not understand why this has such a low rating. The service is slow, but holy crap, the food is incomparable. I've never had better indian food. The service is friendly and the food is... a revelation.

Hello everyone, this is the first post for the year of 2018 and this posts my significant and I decided to check out Ashiana Tandoori just located at King Edward Village near Kingsway and Knight Street. Decided to visited this restaurant on Jan 12, 2018.
As we both walked in, we were greeted by the hostess and was seated at a table right away along with a pair of menus for us to glance over before we ordered. Shortly after couple minutes our server took our order. As appetizers we order a dish called Fish Pakora ( Chef Rick's Specialty) along with Two Vegetable Samosa and as for our main entrée we decided to order two sets of their Ashian's Feature Platter Combo [ Butter Chicken / Lamb Rogan Josh ] which is served with Rice, Naan and Raita.
About ten minutes after we were served with the appetizer dish Fish Pakora. From the first bite out of the pakoras; the taste was mind-blowing it was absolutely delicious; well seasoned and the fish was freshly deep-fried. I really love the taste of this dish and furthermore our main entrée dish was then served to us. The taste of the Butter Chicken and Lamb Rogan Josh was very delicious. The taste of the curry was very authentic and well seasoned and quantity was more than enough along with the freshly made Naan. After all of our dishes was served to us; Chef Rick himself walked out of the kitchen and greeted us and asked us how the dishes tastes. We were very surprised loved the customer service that Chef Rick brings to his guests. This restaurant name has been around in the Lower Mainland since the year 1980; it has a stable clientelle over the years and very well-known. Chef Rick himself was very talkative and very friendly.
Overall, I rate this restaurant a 4.5 star out of 5 star. Reason being the customer service was exceptional, the temperature and portion control was on point so was the seasoning on all our dishes.

THIS PLACE IS AWESOME!!!!
As soon as I entered the restaurant, I could smell really good food. The first thing I said was "It smells sooooo goooood!" The ambiance of the place is also very authentic.
I asked them about their specialty and they said they have a new dish called "Bangara Chicken". We also ordered Chilly Chicken and Peshawari Tikka. OMG!!!! It was AWESOME!!!. "Bangara Chicken" felt out of the world! So unique and tasty. I've never had this type of chicken before! The flavors were so good. The Chilly Chicken was mind blowing!!! Loved it!!!
Peshawari Taki was also top notch. They also gave us some rice which was the most authentic basmati rice. Additionally, they also got us "Lamb". It was so soft and the curry had the taste of lamb as well!!!! Fantabulous!!! Soooo Gooodd!!!
At the end, Rick asked us to taste the "Barfi" he had freshly prepared. He probably did not know that I am a fan of "Barfi". OMGGGGGGGGGGGG
One of the best Barfi's I've ever had in my life.
However, the best part of the restaurant was the company of Rick and Sonia! They are so warm and welcoming, I would love to go here and also take my friends to this place as many times I can. Rick and Sonia spent time with us and it really felt that I was at home, as the name suggests -
Aashiana (Home in Hindi) Tandoori. We had an awesome conversation!

I agree with the other reviewers, the food is wonderful and the owner/chef and his wife always extend a warm welcome. Ashiana is a Vancouver institution and has been at this Kingsway address for many years. I've been going there since the 80's! Chef Rick offers variations on Indian classics that you won't find elsewhere. For the quality of food, the prices are very reasonable. My wife and I had another great experience last night. Highly recommended.
Friendly service and great food. In particular, the naan bread was very fresh and fluffy~ They just renovated recently, and when we went for dinner we were one of the only customers in the rather large restaurant. I'm glad we didn't let that deter us :) We'll definitely be coming back.
Excellent food, friendly service, clean and pleasant ambiance -- and very reasonable prices. Ask for the tandoori cauliflower (an unusual specialty) to complement your curry dishes.

Fantastic food, I’d say the best Indian restaurant I’ve been to in Vancouver.
As everyone mentions it’s run by a lovely owner couple who are out interacting with guests and making sure everything is perfect.
Spent a good few hours here just munching away and enjoying the atmosphere. Will definitely return and try some other items off the menu

Nice ambience and overall a nice place!
We were craving for some Indian Pakoras (Bhajjiya) after our rainy day stroll in the Queen Elizabeth Park. And we found this place. We had
1. Garam Onion Pakoras
2. Garam Chai
3. Samosas
4. Mango Lassi
And I must say, everything was so yummy and authentic! Loved the flavors. The mint chutney survey with Samosas was just too good!

We ordered Peshawari Tandoori Chicken and Tandoori Veg Platter with Naans, Blueberry Lassi, Cucumber Raita and got Gulaab Jamuns on the house! We will be back soon.
Go first. Ask questions later. This is a hidden gem in plain sight on Kingsway —as a seasoned Indian/Punjab restaurants & foods lover— I can attest that I’ve gained so much from Rick and his hospitality. The Food is among the best I’ve ever had including among a long list in Surrey, Vancouver & Edmonton. Truly a delicious and ‘slow-food’ dining experience, yet take-out seems very popular.
Hands down, one of the BEST goat curry I have eaten in North America. The meat was soft, juicy with perfect aroma. Highly recommended. The owner Rik was so kind and talks to everyone personally. I wanted to come back the next day but unfortunately it will be closed. I promise to visit again when I am in Vancouver again. God bless Mr. Rik!
