Food was great! Small place to eat and gets filled up fast. Wouldn’t bring any stroller in there. Remember it’s cash only! Luckily i had some.

This quaint little restaurant located on Main St & 25th Ave in beautiful Vancouver 🇨🇦 it was highly recommended by my friend Jinn and he was definitely correct i ordered the Lamb/Beef Curry with Rice $15.25 to my surprise the meal was quite generous and also the curry has a nice spicy kick to it (not enough to hurt anyone) the service was very quick and friendly i would highly recommend this place

I've heard sooo many great reviews about this place so I had to stop by. It really was like going to a hawker shop with the interior and exterior feel of the place. There are a variety of bowls to choose from including noodles in soup or ones with rice and curry. They simply have everything you would find at a hawkershop in malaysia and more. I can't speak for the similarity in flavor but laksa was divine with the perfect balance of coconut and spice flavors. Not convinced? Pretty much everything on the menu is just ten dollars!

I have not been in probably 20 years yet the mere mention of Hawker's Delight makes my mouth water. In thinking back, this may be where I discovered wonderful laksa. Malaysian and Singaporean cuisine, in a casual setting on Main Street near King Ed, is almost all you need to know about this place! Well, you should also know that there is only one dish on the menu over $10.We had to order the previously mentioned laksa. There are some dishes where I completely defer to my partner, Marie's opinion and laksa is one of them. If her eyes brighten at the first tastes, I know we have a winner and that was the case here. We've had a lot of this wonderful coconut curry soup and this was some of the best. Rich and coconutty broth, noodles with just a bit of chew, and a nice selection of tofu puffs, fish cake and vegetables and $10 buys you lunch!I was a little confused by the Gado Gado. It arrived warm, steaming in fact. I'm not an expert but I have always had this salad at room temp or cooler. We had arrived just after noon so maybe the vegetables had just been cooked and had not had time too cool. That might also explain why the bowl was a bit soupy at the bottom. Still, it was tasty and I am not sorry that we ordered it. Lots of vegetables, hard boiled egg, tofu and an excellent peanut sauce. Finally, we tried the Curry Lamb with Rice. This is the only item that is over $10 ($15.25) on the menu but was well worth it. A generous quantity of tender lamb and a pleasant rich low-level spicy sauce. We ended up taking all of this home and having it for lunch the next day!Hawkers Delight is not fancy. Order at the counter and your food gets delivered to your table. Fetch your own water or tea in plastic glasses. The staff is efficient and not unfriendly but they aren't chatty either.

This is a small shop located on Main Street that specializes in Malyasian food. They are a small casual eatery with a limited number of seating; you order at the front counter and they bring you your food once it's ready. During my visit, I had their Roti Prata, Chicken Curry Noodle, and Fried Kuey Teow. All of the food was very good; I was especially blown away by their Roti Prata. Their prices are very reasonable, especially given that their portions are quite generous.

Roti Prata ($2.75):
5/5
This is served with a small side of curry for dipping. The bread itself was seriously just fantastic: warm, soft and flaky. The curry also had a great fragrance of coconut as well as a slightly sweet flavour that paired great with the bread.

Chicken Curry Noodle ($9.05):
4/5
This contained noodles in a curry broth with potatoes and chicken. The chicken itself wasn't really curried however, but was rather like Hainese chicken that was added to the noodles. It was tasty however, and was tender, juicy and well-seasoned. The noodles had a nice bouncy texture and the broth was very flavourful with just a slight bit of heat. It was quite a good portion for $9.05, and filling.

Fried Kuey Teow ($9.05):
4/5
This consisted of broad rice noodles stir fried with egg, bean sprout, prawns, fish cake, shredded chicken and green vegetable. You can have it spicy or non-spicy; I had the spicy version and found it to have just a slight kick without being overly hot. I really enjoyed the texture of the noodles, which were chewy and bouncy. There were only a few prawns, but a good amount of fish cakes. The portion size was not enormous, but more than generous for just $9.05.

Summary:
Food: 4/5
Price: 5/5
Service: N/A
OveralL: 4.5/5
Recommendations: Roti Prata, Chicken Curry Noodle, Fried Kuey Teow

What can I say. I love this place! Great Malay food at amazing prices! If I lived in the area, I'd probably eat here 3 times a week. Best for take out. A little cramped with plastic stools, just like Asia. Highly recommended!

Fantastic little restaurant tucked in on the busy street of Main and King Edward.

The food is authentic and delicious that can be seen prepared and cooked for you with an open window.

This little restaurant will leave you both satiated and happy.

I was here for their laksa since it’s raincouver and my go-to comfort food is soupy noodles. I’ve read a lot of good reviews about this place and it’s definitely well-priced and huge portions but I was a bit disappointed with the soup. It was just a tad not creamy and coconut-y enough to satisfy my craving but it’s probably a preference issue since my boyfriend loved the soup. I’ll definitely try this place again but something else next time.

Hawker's Delight is hidden on Main Street and actually wasn't too far from King Edward Station - about a 10-15 minute walk.  A Saturday afternoon visit there resulted in us entering a fairly busy store.  The place is really cramped and I did not really enjoy the environment.  Like many others we got the food to go.  Also I noticed a sign saying that for any leftover food from eating in that people want to take home, they would be charging $0.25 per container.

We ended up settling for the Sayur Lodeh, Lontong, and Fried Kuey Teow.  Food took about 20 minutes to get with a few people in front of us.  I found the service to be efficient but honestly kinda rude.  In the end with this hole in the wall place though I'd prefer to have good food and poor service than good service and poor food!  I found the dishes overall to be pretty authenthic.  Not entirely - the food also seemed to be more Malaysian style than Singaporean style, having been to both of them.  The Sayur Lodeh and Lontong had tons of food, however most of them were veggies like cabbage, etc.

Overall the portions were pretty good.  I wasn't extremely full after but was satisfied.  I'd definitely stop by in the area and from what I've heard it's one of the more authenthic Singaporean/Malaysian places in Vancouver.  All in all, recommended.

Cheap but delicious! Very affordable dishes for the masses. They have a really good portion size for the lowest prices! Highly recommended! You will never regret it!

Delicious! Prices are great and food is awesome. Felt like I was backpacking again looking at the menu. I ordered the laksa and roti pata, both were delish. I'll be coming back to try everything on the menu for sure. Edit: The laksa gave me minor stomach issues and I have an iron stomach lol maybe questionable seafood, wouldn't deter me though

This establishment is unpretentious and needs no recomendations, but do not be disuaded by the store front’s modesty. If you enjoy Malaysian food, specifically soup or stew with curry and coconut milk, then you will enjoy the flavours served here. Apart from base ingredients being ready, each bowl will be made to order. If you like it hot (spicy) they will be happy to comply and the same can be said for a milder palete. We ordered two; one bowl of chicken curry with noodles and another bowl of Laksa. The Chicken Curry was a enriched with cocnut milk and red-curry broth with just the right amount of heat. I asked for hot 🔥 and it had a perfect kick to enjoy every drop! Every once in a while, a bite into a broth soaked potato was delightful. The chicken was tender and sooooo full of flavour that I wanted more, but honestly I did not feel there wasn’t enough, I just didn’t want it to end. Seeing the bottom of the bowl was a sad sight. The Laksa with noodles, tasted like it was made with coconut and a spicy fish broth (slightly milder than the coconut curry). With large chunks of fried tofu, fish cake, shrimp, chicken and hard boiled egg, there was no shortage of mouth-party suprizes! Is it worth coming here? Why ask me? Just stand and watch the steady line of happy loyal customers who by their presence alone will testify to great food, good value and quick effecient service.

Got Hainanese chicken rice and char kway teow and roti canai for take out. They told me it would be a 15 minute wait and it was ready in exactly 15 minutes (I put an alarm on because I went to walk around outside and didn't want to lose track of time). The portions were large. I enjoyed the roti canai. It was flaky but if it was just a bit more fluffy it would have been perfect. The char kway teow was on the sweeter side and lacking in the smokey wok hei that does not seem achievable outside of Asia. There was a decent amount of prawns and fish cake in it. If there's anyone from Toronto reading my review, One Two Snack in Scarborough has a better char kway teow. My husband thought the Hainanese chicken rice was okay. I would return to eat the roti canai again.

Quite nice, got the Hainanese Chicken Rice and Mee Goreng. The chicken was awesome great texture and flavour. The rice was tasteful as well but there was a lot of it.. maybe a bit too much. Mee Goreng was flavourful and filling, portion was also quite large.

I've always heard great things about this place and finally ordered takeout here. We ordered the fried kuey teow and mee goreng. Hands down the fried kuey teow was our favourite dish of the two. The noodles and sauce were really flavourful and came with a great amount of protein. The portions were super generous and we had leftovers after sharing between two people. Would definitely come back and try more dishes!

I grew up in Singapore and am SO GLAD I found this. What a gem. Everything was delicious. Particularly recommend getting roti prata and laksa, which are so hard to do well!

Malaysian and Singaporean restaurants aren’t too common in Canada so I must try them when they’re nearby. This place is very hole-in-the-wall with only a few tables inside and felt very similar to a restaurant in either Malaysia or Singapore, which added to the charm. We order laksa and char kway teow and they both tasted very authentic and similar to what you’d get overseas at a hawker centre. The prices were very fair, both dishes less than $14. As far as drinks went, I wished they had 100Plus, as they only had the typical Canadian soft drinks.

I visited here with my friends. I ordered Hainan Chicken with rice. I really enjoyed the food and it was very tasty. However, there is very few veggies to go with the rice. I remembered it was 3 pieces. small cucumber, small tomato, and can't remember the third one. They provided a lot of rice, so I was able to fulfill my stomach for lunch. I will try different dishes next time and Re-evaluate my review. I would recommend this place to my friends.
