Santouka is a busy ramen franchise. Their restaurants are usually packed with ramen gourmand. The West Broadway location is Santouka’s newest location, so it’s quite popular. Regardless how busy this location is, their staff provide prompt service and quick food/beverage delivery service. The broth is rich and flavorful and the noodles are perfectly cooked with a bit of crunchiness to the bite. The menu is fairly priced, so there’s always line up at the door.
I DID IT!!! i finally managed to get a seat at this wickedly popular extremely crowded place i ordered the Kara-Miso Ramen it is to die for delicious a medium spicy level which leaves a tingle in the mouth the broth is very addictive (how much MSG is added?) i also got some green tea $1.25 extra the service was quick and very efficient i would highly recommend this restaurant,don't be surprised if there's a lineup outside
Like the sushi joints that proliferated the Vancouver dining scene years ago, the same trend appears to have happened with ramen houses. In addition to independent ramen restaurants, popular chains, such as Hokkaido Ramen Santouka which originated in Japan back in the 80’s, have made Vancouver their home.

This was definitely another hot spot in Vancouver. I am not a big ramen fan but this place changed my mind. We did wait but it wasn't too long. I ordered the least saltiest ramen (shoyu) and it was still salty ( I am someone who doesn't eat much salty food) but it was a great broth very rich in flavor. My husband isn't a ramen fan either but he had the spicy ramen (spicy miso) and was impressed. We both had small bowls and it was just perfect! If you're a ramen fan- this is the place to be! Service was prompt as well!
A good friend of mine came down & she swore by this place as the BEST ramen she's ever had! So naturally your boy the Virajie had to see what was good. 😤😤😤 And final verdict is... pretty damn good! On point spicy broth & char siu pork & a nice selection of appies & desserts. Restaurant decor was more upscale than I expected for a ramen joint of all places. Go figure. Pretty sure I found my new favourite ramen spot! 4.5/5.
Ramen is flavorful and delicious. Gyoza was just ok-the filling seemed a bit mushy. Service is fast and attentive. Great overall experience.

This is a ramen shop located on Broadway near the skytrain station (they have a 2nd location on Robson). I've had their Miso Cha-shu Ramen, which I upgraded to a large size for an additional $1, and thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff are quite friendly and attentive, and frequently call to each other in Japanese. The place does get busy however; being a single diner I was able to get a seat by the bar quite easily, but the tables do get full, so be prepared for a wait if you're going in a group. All in all, I was quite impressed by this restaurant, and I'd highly recommend checking it out.
Miso Cha-shu Ramen ($13.80 + $1 for Large):

The bowl was filled with ramen noodles and broth that's topped with cha-shu pork and vegetables (woodear mushrooms, green onions and bamboo shoots). The noodles had a great bouncy texture. I loved the broth, which was rich without being oily and very savoury, and had a nice fragrance from ground sesame. There were five generous pieces of pork, which although a bit chewy, was still reasonably tender and had a good ratio between lean meat and fat. While I did find the cha-shu to be a bit bland on its own, it tasted fine when eaten with the noodles and broth. Even though the bowl didn't look particularly big, the rich broth and generous amount of noodles made it quite filling.
Not sure why this location has a lower rating than the West End Santouka? It's exactly the same thing, but with more space. Service quality is the same- fast and friendly. Food quality is the same- BUT! And this a vital and important but! Their ajitamas are better here. That yolk is runny in all the perfect ways whereas it's often near solid at the West End location.

My Shoyu Ramen was packed with flavor. The ramen is just the right texture. The pork cha-su was fatty and delicious. It was every bit as good as I remembered.
I'm glad the consistency is always there no matter which Santouka I visit!
Food was delicious. Staff were friendly but were a little inattentive. The restaurant can get pretty busy and they can have a wait however, fast turn over of customers as food is served quickly. Nice ambience. Would still go back.
Delicious hearty ramen and tsukemen (dipping noodles). The broth had depth and it's also nice to change it up once in awhile and order noodles to dip!
Remains one of my favorite spots for ramen in Vancouver! The broth is always on point and rich and delicious. The noodles have a good bounce to them as well. Come early as there is usually a line at dinner time!
This is one of the best ramen places I've ever been to! The shoyu broth is very rich without being overly greasy. I enjoyed the Japanese Cream Soda more than the ramen though! The green looks so nice and it tastes amazing too. Came in around 5 minutes past opening time, it seems they get fairly busy around lunch time

Amazing ramen place! Me and my husband definitely had our fill. As both of us have been to Japan, we were craving this melon (green) drink and to our surprise they had it and it is just as good as we remembered. The Ramen was pretty good! I ordered the Shio Ramen (egg is extra) and my husband ordered the Santouka Super Combo and the salmon bowl with the rice was honestly unreal. Value was definitely really good. We had left overs eventhough the bowl looked small at first but we were wrong! The gyoza were okay but we have had better. Over all, friendly service, fast and efficient and yummy food! 9/10
The Toroniku (pork cheek) is amazing,, it melts in your mouth! Food comes really fast and everything is delicious. Had the shoyu ramen with a good amount of noodles and tasty chashu pork. The Ikura salmon Don is better than the plain ikura don (pictured). Highly recommend eating here!
Came here to share a dish of ramen and the normal size bowl already gives you so much! The toroniku shio had an amazing broth. So much flavor and not too thick. The meats were melt in your mouth good
