Very friendly staff and it's nice to see actual Italian people making Italian food. The food here is amazing from the pizza to the pasta and the tirimisu! It's a piece of Italy in Vancouver! My favourite food is Italian and Ive been to Italy and this is authentic. Highly recommend this place!
My husband and I are italian, this place saves us from homesickness everytime! if you want to feel like you're having a pizza in Italy, this is the right place. Homemade pasta and pizza are outstanding. I couldn't believe how perfect and similar the taste was to the food in Italy, which is VERY hard to find here. 5 stars for us!!!
When it comes to authentic Italian pizza and other traditional dishes, there are certain international standards. Thanks to my past involvement with the #TrueItalianTaste initiative by the Italian Chamber of Commerce West (@iccc_west), I am able to recognize authentic quality products from Italy with labels such as DOP and IGP. These standards have been implemented by local Italian restaurants for quality assurance, and they are what BiBo Pizzeria is recognized with. Besides the food, according to Andrew Bini, the owner of the restaurants since 2011, from the kitchen, the bar to the dining room, the entire experience is designed to make you feel and eat like you’re in Italy.
This place has a cute layout, with a great sliding open window for the summer. Great Italian food, especially the classic margarita. Although very over prices.
We enjoyed our Boccone pizza. The tomato sauce brings to mind fresh tomatoes from the field. The meats were good. The crust was light. I could almost eat another one.
The romaine lettuce salad was a disappointment. Not worth $14.00. Salad dressing was boring. If the salad was better, we would have ranked our experience a 4.0.
We would not order the salad again, but would defintely come again for pizza.
Arrived at the Hostess was friendly and seated us right away. Our waitress was at our table very soon with minimal waiting.
Made some great suggestions. Pizza was authentic Italian style and I found this to be just average. Service was great and then starter salad was amazing. It was a soft cheese with tomato basil and balsamic vinegar drizzle. Amazing
For a Sunday night family dinner, we met a The Bibo in Kitsilano (they also have a location in the McArthur Glen Outlet Center in Richmond). This is Neapolitan pizza and pasta place. We started with complimentary bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. It’s nice bread, with a good chewy crumb on the inside, and a hearty crust on the outside. I would have appreciated it more if it was toasted, or otherwise served warm. This bread was room temperature.
Good Food, Good Service, and Cheap Wine!. No complaints!
I've gone there a couple of times now and both times I had a great experience. The food was good and the service was good too. My favourite dish so far is the eggplant appetizer. It is amazing!
But the best part is that on Thursdays all bottles of wine are 50% off.
Madness Wednesday $35. Spaghetti alla Puttanesca (spaghetti with DOP tomato sauce, garlic, anchovies, black olives, capers, and parsley) $18 4/5 - Al dente! A little on the salty side. Garlic was not too strong.
Spaghetti alla Carbonara (typical recipe from Lazio made with free range eggs, guanciale and Pecorino) $18 1/5 - It was undercooked! The middle was still hard. We had to send it back to the kitchen. On the second attempt, it was still undercooked. Not as bad as the last time. I just had a bite of it. The second attempt was saltier than the first one for some reason. We would expect that's the way they serve if we didn't had the Puttanesca.
Ravioli alla Piemontese (handmade ravioli stuffed with beef served with Piedmontese sauce) $22 3.5/5 - I had high expectations for this because it was handmade. I could barely taste the beef. There were about 20 pieces pieces of raviolis.
Quattro Stagioni (tomato, mozzarella, cooked ham, mushrooms, black olives with pits, artichokes, anchovies) $20 3.5/5- very similar to the Prosciutto e Funghi. The artichokes were a little too salty. I don't remember having any anchovies. It was thicker than the Prosciutto e Funghi.
Prosciutto e Funghi (tomato, mozzarella, cooked ham, mushrooms) $17 4/5- my favourite of the 3 pizza. It was plan and simple. Very thin crust.
Pancetta & Gorgonzola (tomato, mozzarella, pancetta, gorgonzola) $17 3.5/5 - simple but the pancetta was salty.
Panna Cotta (an Italian classic dessert made with real vanilla beans. Served as a chilled disk with strawberry sauce and chocolate sauce) $8 4.5/5 - Nothing much can go wrong with a panna cotta. The bottom of the panna cotta (or the top since it was upside down) was harder than the top. I have no idea how this could happen. Both the strawberry sauce and the chocolate sauce was a little too much for me. I would prefer to pick one.
Tiramisu (made with Italian savoiardi lady biscuits dipped in espresso, Italian Mascarpone and flavoured with cocoa) $9 4/5 - not too sweet. I wish the mascarpone cheese was thicker.
Chocolate Brick (a typical Italian dessert prepared with biscuits and cocoa, crunchy and tasty) $7 3/5 - reminded us of Oreo. It was more on the hard side than crunchy.
The portions are on the smaller size even though our server claimed they were 12" pizzas. The toppings were not spreadout evenly on the top. Some of us liked it that way and said she could pick and choose the toppings she wanted. The 5 of us shared 3 Madness Wednesday special (pizza+pasta+dessert for $35). We were told that the special is enough for 2. Service was a little slow. We waited 40min for our pizza after having the pasta. Our server Matteo was super nice and funny. We had a girls' talk and at the end Matteo told us that women in Vancouver are not happy. He suggested we should go to Italy to look for our husbands! He also didn't charge us our undercooked carbonara.
Finally a perfect pizza!!
I love everything, from the antipasti, pasta and the best pizza in town!
Bravo ragazzi! Continuate così!!!
If I had read these reviews before meeting the staff and tasting the food (esp. the pizza!) I would have never got to try it. Luckily they catered the Vancouver New Music festival opening concert and I got to try many of their vegetarian choices and all were delicious! I just visited the actual restaurant and the service was friendly, fast and food was amazing! $10 lunch special very affordable. Give the place a chance!
Great authentic Italian food in an elegant but family friendly restaurant. We ordered four different items and all were excellent.
