I had dinner her last night for the 1st time and getting a great spot for 2 was easy because of all the room and plenty of seats with awesome views of English Bay. The food was delicious! We started with the Poblano & Crab dip. No it's not spicy. It's crazy good! The 1st crab dip I've ever had with real crab and actual chunks of crab meat. They do not skimp out on this dish at all. Unlike other places. Our mains were the Fish and Chips and Smoked Salmon Salad. I don't think there is a place in Vancouver that has bigger battered fish than Hook Seabar. It was so much that I had to take half home. The salad and in particular the dressing was also awesome. Fresh and herbaceous. I highly recommend coming here for a nice casual dinner this summer while catching the ocean breeze and sunset over English Bay.

Every time I go to hook I am blown away by the service, the atmosphere, and the quality of the food and drinks. Our server, Adam, was amazing and took the time to explain all of the dishes down to the spices and really made sure we knew what we were getting. The cocktails are awesome.. try the "Agree to Disagree". The food, as ever, was phenomenal. Chef Kayla and her kitchen staff really outdo themselves with the amazing artwork they produce. The flavor, the presentation, and the thought that go into the food really comes through. To have a staff as passionate as they are about their work, both in front and back of house, shows what kind of place it is. I will ALWAYS recommend Hook to friends and visitors. It's is just THAT good!

Nice to hang out at English Bay. Came here for happy hour on a bright sunny day and it was very good. Tried a margarita, beer, prawns and home made chips with salsa and guacamole. Everything was good and would come back again. It was very busy so there might be a wait on those nice sunny days.

Randomly chose this restaurant to eat at since it was close to our hotel. Service was exceptional from the host to our server. Tried the Bomber Limoncito and Red Roof Cider based on recommendations from our server. Both were refreshing and she got our taste buds on point! The tacos and tostados were savory and the flavors of the ingredients worked well together. We weren’t huge fans of the Peruvian Ceviche. The sauce was okay and the raw fish wasn’t soft. It was on the chewier side and didn’t have too much flavor despite having the sauce. Great location to watch the sunset on English Bay from inside the restaurant or just a quick walk outside!

We really liked this place...nice view, awesome staff and great drinks. We came back a second time also. We tries the lobster roll and the tuna salad. The lobster was really good and enough to eat. The salad was amazing!!! The drinks were really well prepared...we were seated next to the bar. We tried 2 very different cocktails and were awesome. The staff wear masks and were paying attention to the customers.

I had the privilege of trying some of the new dishes to be added to the menu in July by Executive Chef Arif Khalid. From a very delicate Red Snapper Cerziche (paired with pinot gris) to a great burger or the steak (w merlot), everything was delicious!! Hook is a casual dining experience facing west overlooking English Bay. A wonderful view at sunset. Lots of craft beer. The ceiling could use some sound dampening material as the noise level is a bit 'bright'.

5 star all the way ✨ ✨ ✨ ! Amazing vibes, friendly and efficient service and most importantly yummylicious food. We had yam fries, fish tacos, baja rice bowl and finally chocolate brownie cheese cake. Everything was finger licking good, literally! Would definitely go there again.

Great happy hour selection! We had the seared prawns that were to die for and their calamari was exciting to eat with the jalapeño, tomatoes and arugula. There’s also a pool table that’s free to play. During our visit we had caused some confusion as we left our table to go play pool. When we came back to our table, another guest was seated which led us to thinking that we had paid already. They had instead moved us to a table nearer to the pool table and we mistakenly left without paying. When we called back, after realizing a few hours later, to let them know of the situation and what we could do to transfer the missed payment, our waitress, Eva, had informed us that they had already taken care of it even though it was our fault. We will for sure come back to Hook to try out other things on their menu and to leave a generous tip!

Prompt and friendly service with a unique menu. The food was great and the hand made tortilla chips were delicious. Great view of English Bay from both inside the restaurant and the patio. Bonus surprise, there's a pool table!
