Review The Parlour - Vancouver

Hiam
It could be 5 star but because we had such a hard time in the beginning with the hostess I give 3 stars. The pizza is 5 stars to me but the service no! It was the best pizza I’ve ever eaten in Vancouver! The server was so nice. The hostess wasn’t really welcoming. She literally gave us attitude for no reason. There wasn’t enough space for dine in and she said it could be one hour. So we had to order for takeout. When we realized people are coming out we asked her again if we can go in for dine in and then she said there is bar section you can sit! Then she found out there is one table available. But this all was because we pushed to ask meaning that I did the hard work and because I myself work in service and know these stuff. Just wish if the hostess take care of customers better! It is affecting people the way you offer service! I’m sorry about giving you less rate but Vancouver restaurant owners need to learn that before charging people with tips to make their service better. The business is alive because of customers! Thanks

Great spot for brunch. Our group all got their Benedict Pizzas - they were a good portion and filling. Great, roomy vibe inside, especially around lunchtime!

Yum! Finally stopped by The Parlour in Yaletown for their happy hour. Their happy hour is on til 6pm and they have some pretty good deals. I personally enjoyed their beef carpaccio the most. It was very well flavoured and came in a good portion. The meatballs were great too - didn’t realize it came as a slider, which was a pleasant surprise! The vegan bruschetta bites were quite interesting as well - I liked the flavors and mushrooms. Their feature cocktail was great too - loved the guava and the tajin rim!

My fault for not trusting the reviews. Shame on me! Made a reso 4 weeks out. I’ve been wanting to try the eats and experience the ambiance for sometime. Ignoring the poor reviews both online and from friends regarding The Parlour. Not because of the food specifically, it was good. The star of the show was the short rib stack and pizza. Both flavourful and fresh! The service was bad enough that everyone at the table (5 of us total) commented on it. Hostess was friendly and got us seated right away. The server hardly greeted us rather just threw down one drink/one food menu and walked away. She got back to the table to take our drinks and I had to inquire about happy hour otherwise she wouldn’t have mentioned it. Little alone explained the happy hour menu. She walked away annoyed that we didn’t know what we wanted to drink. Ordered the next time she visited the table and I asked about a food item to which she had to explain 4 times because she was saying it so fast. It was loud but not so loud I couldn’t hear. Also I was not the only one having this issue with her. The food came out without follow up. Had to wave her down for another drink and chase her down for the bill. I really hope this was a one off but her attitude was enough to make me never grace the doorway to this place again. There’s many other establishments that will provide me with both good food and good service for the overall value of The Parlour. Ambiance met expectations. Food was good. Happy hour menu had variety. Service was unpleasant. Note: If you are more than 15min late for a reso you lose it. If you call to say your late and on your way you get 20min. Also seating limit is 1.5hrs for 6 people or less. More than 6 people call to make a special reso.

Cool place with great vibe however it could get very noisy sometimes Their STACKED SHORT RIBS, hands down is one of the best. Pizza is also very good and tasty. Both crust and toppings were great

Great pizza and happy hour! Friendly service too! Worth to try, very good deal during happy hour for drinks and pizza . This place always crowded and has a line in front in weekend

The pizzas are amazing. Drinks are okay, nothing to write home about. The venue is super cute, trendy and fun. Most people there were 20-35 years old. The patio is amazing. I loved that the staff gently let us know they were closed. I appreciated not being pushed out. Sitting on the patio I noticed an incredible amount of rude interactions between the bouncers and people who just wanted to be customers. It honestly gave me the ick and I will not return due to the bouncers ( to identify them, they were bald, Caucasian and probably about 45 years old). For the most part the people getting the rude treatment seemed pleasant and happy go lucky people. Strange way to treat people at a restaurant, probably nothing will change with this review as it is a busy venue even with how they run their business.

The Pizza here is fantastic, the atmosphere is vibrant and lovely, the workers are very nice an patient. It takes a little bit for the food to come out but nothing you can’t kill with a glass of wine. I ate here and have ordered 3 times from Parlour for delivery since December 4th. Don’t plan on eating pizza anywhere else for the time being.

• Reservation is a must, most especially weekends & evenings
• The hostess looks like she was lost (the only weird thing I feel).
• The waitress was very attentive & simply nice
• their PIZZAs are the best so far in the lower mainland, must try and a must to order!
• Mini sliders: $4 for additional one; Fresh mini brioche bun
• definitely try the GOLDMEMBER!!! You won’t be disappointed. It tastes buttery from the shaved Truffles, thinly shaved potatoes & tasty caramelized onions. It is the perfect pizza of all time, seriously! Don’t forget the garlic dip on the side
• Most of the food items are expensive $$-$$$ but it is all worth it. You get what you pay for, you won’t regret it.
• nice art work around the resto as well

Video review on youtube: vancity food crew the parlour
.
My friend really wanted to eat here so we went to Yaletown to try it. The place is very trendy, there always a wait for a table and the lighting is non-existent. The place is also very loud with the music and ambience, it felt more like a club than a restaurant. The three of us got one pizza each and split each one into two flavours. The pizza is solid at first, but once you get to end it gets cold and the taste quality drops. My friend loves it because of the ambience and the trendy vibe, but I felt the food was lacking.

Made it to Sunday brunch. Didn’t order from the brunch menu. Had gold member pizza pmp short rib and it was absolutely no questions about it delicious. Mimosa was okay - should have ordered something stronger. Edgy decor and our server was nice. Will go back again.

Great atmosphere! Especially on a warm summer night. Enjoyed there pizza! Wish I would have tried their oysters (they run out fast) Will definitely be going back.

The pizza was good, but the service was terrible. Our table was not ready at the time of our reservation. Our 14 person party was then awkwardly split into two tables in order to accommodate a 2 person table. Bad business.

I felt like we had hit the jackpot ordering the most delicious thing on the menu here! Tasting this Goldmember pizza will go down as one of the sexiest foodie moments for me. Trust me… I have seen a lot of food porn!

So expensive, ordered a poke bowl and received maybe 2 cups of food, max. There was roughly 2 tablespoons of rice in the whole thing, and that's cheap. They charge 1.5 times as much as most places and give you less than half the food.

I had ordered takeout online and the manager would not give a refund.

Blacklisted in my books.

It's not every night that fellow foodie, David over at pickydiners.com, makes you feel like a real lady by asking to you be his plus one for Vancouver's Sangria Challenge at The Parlour in Yaletown but when he does, you know it's going down. Mood lighting, trendy pies, and hip tunes - this must be what it feels like to be cool.

I love their pizza! I will travel far for their food! And not badly priced. Love the atmosphere. If you go on Saturday night, you will be waiting for a table.

This place really surprised me. Figured it would be just another typical pub affair spot. While it is that, the menu here is really good. So while you sip your cocktails on a sunny afternoon, you get to enjoy actually interesting food. The service here is also top notch. Servers are always attentive, funny, but not overbearing. Salmon tartar was great, as what the Goldmember pizza.

Had a staff function here for dinner before. It's... Ok. Just ok. Nothing really in wow factor terms but it's good. Service is excellent. If you need alot of space to host people it's got generous space

Have you guys ever been in the situation where you’re meeting up with someone and you’re worried it might be a little awkward, so you put way too much effort into coming up with the least awkward place for the meeting? Just me? Alright then. Either way, I’ve discovered the perfect solution to this problem – having lunch with someone on their lunch break! There’s an activity to keep you distracted (eating), and your meeting/meal will be limited to one hour, since that’s generally how long people have for lunch. Genius, right? So when an ex of mine asked to catch up recently, we decided meeting up for lunch on his lunch break was the perfect way to minimize the awkwardness of not having seen each other since we broke up. Plus if it was awkward, at least I’d be getting a good meal out of it.

For those who love the concept of Dine Out Vancouver but can't wait till next January to try your favourite restaurants and get your prix fixe menu, you've gotta try "Taste of Yaletown"! It's very similar in that it's a two-week dining event showcasing dishes from 27 restaurants in the Yaletown neighbourhood. The menu combinations are offered at set prices of $25, $35, $45.

Cool spot in yaletown. Goldmember pizza with short rib and truffle oil is absolutely delicious. Value preception on their cocktails is a bit weird, we found their glassware to be unusually small making their drinks seem smaller. Especially at the price we were paying, we expected a bit more. Would return for that pizza and to try rest of menu for sure.

My fiancé and I both really enjoyed our pizza here, and the service! We ordered a Ceviche as an appetizer but were later informed that there was none prepped, so it didn't arrive until after our meal. Slightly disappointing but without showing the slightest bit of annoyance we were informed it would be free! Such great service, highly recommend.

I had a really great time at the Parlour! My friend and I shared the Wake n Bake pizza as well as the mussels. The pizza was so delicious, and looking around, the pizzas that everyone else ordered looked delicious as well. I wasn't crazy about the mussels but the bacon that was in the mussels was pretty tasty. Not to mention the waitress was an absolute gem, great service! I'll definitely be coming back here.

Love this place. Their pizza is the BOMB. And they have great selections for vegetarians. You can also get a half and half pizza which is amazing because they all looked amazing and I couldn't decide!
John Smith
Dopest meatball sandwich. And one of the dopest chicken pizzas i've ever had. the atmosphere is dope too. i can't wait to return.

My first time at the Parlour was a great experience! We went for lunch on a sunny saturday, and despite being busy, we got a table really quickly. The tables in that area were very squishy so we asked to move, and the waitress accommodated us quickly.
We couldn't decide on which pizza to order, so we did half the roasted and the other half the yaletown!
I absolutely LOVED the yaletown- it was like sushi on a pizza! Ahi Tuna HEAVEN!! Plus I was craving sushi so it was the perfect mix!
The service was great- our waitress was super friendly and making jokes with us! The drinks were great too - I ordered a mojito and it was great! I only wish they had a patio because the weather was too nice to be inside (it is a bit dark inside too).
Other than that- great experience! GREAT pizza.
Alex
Amazing food! Ordered the raw wraps, but when I saw someone get a pizza I immediately regretted my decision because it looked so good. But then I received my raw wraps and they were amazing, and I had no regrets at all. Everyone at my table enjoyed their various meals also. Will definitely be returning!

Good place to grab a pizza in Yaletown. Good place to grab a bite (good pizza) in Yaketown.

WORSE service ever.. Was very unimpressed with the service at this place for a restaurant in Yaletown and expected better. we arrived at 430 and asked for a table for 5. the place was half full at this point, if lucky. the hostess told us to wait while she walked around. she comes back says she can seat us at a 4 top saying "2 can sit on the chairs and the other 3 can squeeze on the booth side" or we can sit in the back (which was completely empty). So of course, I said we will sit in the back. Okay - as she goes to the back to do god knows what as the back was completely empty comes comes back and says a corner table for 5 is paying and we can sit there. Okay fine. She then seats...3 more tables that came in after us at the back...not sure why we couldn't just go to the back but whatever, didn't think much of it at this point. We are finally seated...and the original 4 top but they were able to push a 2 top to make it a 6. Great! Sat down and the server comes up and asks us what we want to order. Well at this point we been sitting for 5 min and didn't even get menus yet...so we ask if we can get menus first. Got our menus...server didn't come back to at least 15 min where the hostess then comes to us and says that they made a mistake and our table is actually reserved and they need it back in 30 min...but food is coming out really fast so...basically they wanted us to order eat and bounce. Considering we been sitting for almost 20 min and our server didn't even bother to come back to take our order after asking for menus, I thought 30 min was not enough time for us to do all that. I asked for a table in the back...which of course now there is a wait.....bad first impression.

I seriously cannot get enough of this place! Their pizzas are amazing - my favourite is the goldmember pizza with the truffle oil, yum! Their broccoli appy is delicious and their meatball minis are little sliders - very tasty! Great beer selection too :)

Stopped in Friday night and was told it would be a 45 minute wait and that they would call us when a table was ready... So we went to have a drink elsewhere because the bar was full. We just get settled in at the bar we went for a drink and get a phone call literally 5 minutes after we left parlour that our table was ready, so we head back right away and when we get there are told it will have to wait because there is no table available. Soooo.... Why did you call us to come back? Confused, we sit and wait. The hostess tells us it should be 20-30 minutes for a table. At this point we are considering leaving because this is getting ridiculous and then only 5 more minutes pass and she takes us to our table. I felt like I was in the twilight zone.

Hostess issues aside, I ordered just a pepperoni pizza and honestly it wasn't bad but nothing to rave about. I actually think I prefer east side Mario's. My boyfriend ordered the Hawaiian pizza and it was good but still not amazing. I will stick with Barbarella and Nicli Antica for my pizza needs.

As for atmosphere, I can't remember the last time I was in a room with so many fake people...

The prices for beer are good.

Had a Turkey sandwich for lunch. For $10 which was a complete rip off. A couple pieces of turkey, peace of cheese and a little bacon., and that was it. I left hungrier than I when in. Not at all impressed. If you think people would return for that your dellusional. Chinsy quantity believe me. And the nerve to ask for $3 for soup or salad to go with it ; give me a break. Look to see us no more!!

Wonderful pizza in Yaletown. New to the area we were searching for good pizza and right around the corner we found The Parlour. Great pizza! Great price. Great atmosphere!!

Food is alright but the service is an absolute turn off. Rude hostess. Bitchy waitresses. Never going to suggest this place to anyone.

Excellent pizza and service. The Parlour is a cool pizza restaurant located in the heart of Yaletown. Pizzas are very generously sized and absolutely delicious. Goldmember is particularly recommended. Waitresses are also super friendly. Highly recommended.

Kitchen Counter. After waiting for about 20 min, The host told me you are so lucky because our most popular seat which is in front of the kitchen is available, but very soon I found out that is a not a table, two bar stools at the kitchen counter. I don't know about other people but when I go out dining I rather socialize with my friends instead of watching bunch of dudes making pizza dough. They insulted my intelligence with saying "Best seats". Those seats were available when I walked in the restaurant. Anyway I didn't make a scene, I left the restaurant right a way and will never go back.

Definitely coming back. I was here for dinner last night with a group of 6. I can't say enough good things about this place. The food was top notch, the service was even better. I haven't had such a warm experience in Vancouver in a really long time. Keep up the great work.

Delicious Pizza, Great Service!. Went here for lunch today and was impressed by both the superb food and service! First off, I ordered a vegetable pizza and instead got the roasted vegetables. I was ok with that, but they apologized and ended up making me a pizza anyway and giving it to me for free on my way out! It was really a nice, generous move and will bring me back here.

Both were delicious, although the #swag pizza stood out as phenomenal!

Great place and our server was amazing! She clearly loves her job and is very good at it! Great food. Awesome pizzas!

By Far The Best Pizza in Town. The atmosphere is great!! The staff are super friendly and service is excellent! By far the best pizza in the City!!! The "Gold Member" Pie is the SH T!! They also have a chicken club sandwich to die for..
Get it in Yah! .. Im going back again tonight! lol

Enjoyed it!. We have dined at this new restaurant a number of times. We loved the look and the feel of the place. The service was good and all of the food we sampled was delicious. Worthy of note were the salmon tartare, and the chicken quinoa soup. The pizzas we have had were all very tasty, our favourites are the "dirty" and the "five-o". Can't wait to go back.

Loved it. I finally went to the Parlour with my boyfriend after hearing about it for some time now. I loved the decor and atmosphere! The bar is beautiful with all the candles and unique touches. I liked the simple yet charming menu, we shared the Salmon Tartare to start and it was amazing. We ordered the Wake and bake pizza as our main. I really enjoyed watching my pizza being hand tossed and freshly made, it added to the experience. I was a little dissapointed that there was no dessert but I will be coming back for sure!

Disappointing. We decided to try this cool new restaurant out a few weeks ago, but it was nothing short of hugely disappointing.

To start with, our server had absolutely zero knowledge of the menu. When we asked questions she would either stare at us blankly, or say read the menu.

The food was actually pretty decent. But the owner then came along and made things even worse.

A very "pretty" looking guy asked how everything was. We said it was OK. He looked at us for a moment and then instead of clearing our plates or doing anything helpful he simply said, "OK, I will get a server to come collect your plates". Then he walks to the table next to us to have a drink with some young girls in the bar.

The professionalism and care at this restaurant is extremely subpar for the Yaletown neighbourhood.

Great new spot in Yaletown - much needed!. Love the vibe of this place, Yaletown needed something like it. Food is delicious, staff are super friendly and attentive.
It a great casual go-to spot - and you can't beat $9 for personal, stone oven made pizza and drink for lunch!
Will definitely be back. Great job.

Cool atmosphere but horrifically slow service. Disappointing.

Parlour Power. I love seeing the diversity of Yaletown dining these days and The Parlour brings a new star to the show. A Gastown feel with West End price points.

The Goldmember pizza was everything it should be, perfect crust to carry the weight of the potato, with the perfect essence of truffle oil. Yum, yum. The Tea Keeper cocktail won over our entire group of 7.

With the service and quality of food and cocktails, you would never guess this restaurant was only 2 weeks old. The Parlour is sure to be a staple in the restaurant rotation for all Vancouverites.

Happy Dining!
UrbanEater
We were delighted when we ate here! The pizzas are incredible! Everything is made from scratch. We had the Yaletown and The Dirty pizzas. The service was exceptional. We sat in the very back by the mirrors on a Friday night. It was too loud, and it was a grey atmosphere. The open kitchen really peaked our interest.
We'll definitely be going back!
Great job!
Simple_nite
We heard great things about The Parlour from all our managers and co-workers, so obviously, we had to pay a visit! We made a reservation for 8, but they were more than happy to accommodate the 11 of us that actually showed up, even though they were busy...

1011 Hamilton St, Vancouver, BC V6B 5T4 In the heart of Yaletown, The Parlour is a great place for brunch, or any other meal, with creative pizza flavours and options. Their regular (non breakfast) pizzas have the option of ordering two flavours (half and half) and all of their pizzas have gluten free pizza crust options. Their ingredient combinations are out of the box but all sound very tasty, and although I haven’t tried their other food options, I will be back one day to try them out! Food Rating: 8.5/10 Brunch menu Didn’t get to order anything on their baked-to-order buns, but I will be back for the burrata! The Braised Short Rib and Easy Egg pizza The Smoked Benjamin Smoked Benjamin close-up! If you like lox and cream cheese, capers, and dill, this is THE pizza for you! Loved their floor!

The Parlour is a restaurant located Yaletown of Downtown Vancouver and they specialize in pizza and it’s great! It is probably one of my favorite pizza places in Vancouver. It has a nice decor and atmosphere with plenty of seating area and has large tables available for big groups.

This piece of art at The Parlour Yaletown gives a good snapshot of the vibe at this newly discovered (and thoroughly enjoyed) place. Their Pizzas were highly recommended. And you can have each one in two different halves, so it was a great opportunity to sample four pizzas for the price of two. Here they are from my most to least enjoyed. The Big Prawn (with generous amounts of prawns on it) - Excellent. The Hamilton Street (with blue cheese and pears) - Exceptional The Yaletown (with Ahi Tuna) - Very good, but does not work as leftovers well. The #SWAG (with honey and ricotta cheese) - needs work, too sweet with no punch. The Parlour Yaletown 1011 Hamilton Street Vancouver, BC www.theparlourrestaurants.com

Posted by Mary Sheridan on May 19, 2013 · Leave a Comment Parlour is a great addition to the Yaletown neighbourhood. Affordable and non-pretentious, this eatery has a laid-back atmosphere, a simple, yet innovative menu and an inspired cocktail list. Most people come in for quick eats and drinks in the evening, but this restaurant is also open for lunch. ( It gets pretty busy at night, so if you’re looking to catch up with friends or simply relax I suggest to come in for lunch). I’ve heard of this place because @Billyforce and @JMinter often come here on the weekends and they recommended it. So, all three of us got together with @JoshRimer for some lunch. They have a great pizza deal – $9 for an individual size pizza plus a fountain pop (no bottles). Great deal! The pizza sizes are good, more than enough for a single person. On the table: Yaletown - Billy ordered this one. It looked fantastic. Fresh Albacore tuna with red onion, green onion, avocado and cilantro drizzled with a s

culture club :Yaletown: The more I try to avoid Yaletown, the more I find myself there. In fairness, it's not me - it's the food. Friday night of the first Family Day weekend calls for drinks, food, and fun. That's exactly what we got at The Parlour . It was a wait for a table but the entertaining bartender made it fly by. He got an A for effort. Some cocktails tasted better than others. The Perfect Lady was the best, but oh-so -dangerous. You could easily knock back ten. But don't, Parlour is a classy joint. Well, half class, half not. It's hard to describe the other half, but it's your basic watering hole. You're going to get a little bit of this, a little bit of that, and you won't like it all. But the great music does a good job of bridging it all together. It's stylish, but relaxed. The food is pretty simple - modern crafted comfort. The menu is cheeky - Deez Nuts, pizzas called Zeus, The Dirty, and the two we tried - Wake and Bake and Goldmember. An open kitchen with a large p

Overall, I was quite happy with the quality of food, and I could sense their passion about putting out tasty, well thought-out dishes for their customers. And the prices are quite reasonable, especially for a Yaletown eatery. I would go back and try more of its menu items in the future.

Vancouver’s chic Yaletown neighbourhood welcomes its newest hotspot — The Parlour Restaurant and Lounge. Situated at the former location of Skoah Spa, the stylishly-eclectic establishment is open daily for lunch and dinner service from 11:00am until midnight. Its menu includes plenty of unique food and drink items bound to satisfy any style and size of appetite. Dishes range from light bite tapas and share plates to gourmet sandwiches and pizzas from a custom Woodstone pizza oven. A well chosen rotation of Canadian beer is featured on tap as well as an extensive list of craft beer by the bottle. Imaginative cocktails and wine round off the tempting beverage offerings. The Parlour’s decor exudes a chic vintage feel throughout the space and features heirloom pieces, old-fashioned curiosities, custom artwork, and salvaged CN rail-ties transformed into a statement wine rack. The lounge area showcases chocolate-hued leather booths, high-tops and a str

The menu is very approachable and they’re not trying to reinvent anything here. It’s simple food prepared upon order with a couple playful twists. I wouldn’t really call it a “foodie” place, but it does what it needs to do, and it does that well. It makes the market it caters to happy and entertained. That market isn’t necessarily me, although I could see myself coming back if I was in Yaletown with a group of people with mixed tastes. The restaurant plays it safe and there’s nothing wrong with that, but it just wasn’t particularly exciting. It is a good pizza and beer place that works for any time of day on any day of the week.

Simple artisan pizzas at The Parlour Taste of Yaletown
Vanessa Choot
Yaletown’s newest restaurant held its official launch party for the media and social community. The Parlour Restaurant, formerly home to Skoah Spa (who moved a couple stores down), fits nicely into the stylish Yaletown neighborhood, but at the same time offers guests something slightly new. Its fresh artisan and gourmet pizzas are made in a custom woodstone pizza oven, which is a focal point in The Parlour’s open concept kitchen space. Owners and brothers Sean and Chris Holland introduced The Parlour Restaurant bringing along with them a decade’s worth of experience working at Cactus Club, and a vision to create an upscale-casual dining experience and an environment in which guests could unwind and enjoy. They’ve successfully achieved this vision with The Parlour Restaurant. The latest resto-lounge in Yaletown has hip culture that is catching on fast with Vancouverites and food-lovers alike.
