Review Cafe Crepe - Vancouver

Great service. Really tasty crepes, taste the same every time- delicious. Lots of variety as well. They have more than just crepes too, such as breakfast. The location is ideal on Robson. It’s convenient and good for people watching.

We found this place whilst walking around looking for our breakfast. Very happy that we did. Great table service and even better tasting breakfast. The sideorder of hash-brown was a little too salty for my taste though. But overall we had a great time here.

I’ve given this cafe many chances and the quality is always undermining! Cold crepe, very few ingredients, served warm water, and the croissants was cold and old as well! All these for 20$? the only advantage of this cafe is the location absolutely nothing else!

This is our go-to place when we want to sit back, relax and grab a quick bite after a day of shopping at Robson St. Crepes range from the savoury to sweet and are priced accordingly. Service is quick and staff is friendly.

Amazing food and nice atmosphere! The milkshakes there are delicious and the breakfast we had w as s great! The wait time seemed a little long, but it was well worth it for the food we got.

Great service, fast interaction. Not a very appealing atmosphere. Dark like a dungeon. But the breakfast was very good and delicious. Prices were reasonable. Liked the cappuccino which was done slightly differently. Fast service.

I'm giving this place a 2 star, just because I feel their service was terrible. Foods always been good, but it wasn't crazy busy, and there were open tables, but we still had to wait for 20mins. We ordered savory crepes for our lunch, like I said foods good here, worth checking out, decent price, but if you start adding on your add-ons, such as extra meat, cheese, and side orders, you're better off ordering a second crepe instead. **take that advice** waitress didn't ask us once how our meal, nor did she bring us water refills, we had to ask several times. Could be a one off, but I wasn't impressed at all with it. We sat down after a few people and they were served and out of there well before us. Good food, decent price, but can add up, service very questionable.

Staffs are friendly. locals and travellers both love Cafe Crepe! Their signiture savory can be a nice meal. I recommend BC something with smoked salmon. Every menu with strawberry is just so delicious. For to-go snack, why dont u try fresh strawberry+dark chocolate topping? Inside is a little bit narrow, but if you are the person who loves cozy & not disturbing place? Corner sweet seat is for you.

So I decided today was a great day to trek all the way in to Vancouver from the Fraser Valley to have some Crepes with my good friends i haven't seen in a while. After the long and traffic filled challenging drive in to the city we got to Cafe Crepe. we were seated within a few minutes and were accommodated nicely when we requested a seat change however shortly after that great start the experience went downhill from there. Our waitress arrived at the table and took our order, and after waiting 15 minutes and none of our drinks have arrived. (water a coffee and a milkshake) I decide to go over and ask what the delay is to which i arrive and ask and get this death glare from our waitress followed by a sarcastic shake of the milkshake glass that shes holding to start making the milkshake. 3 or 4 additional minutes go by and finally our drinks arrive. These are dropped off with the most awkward silence and same rude stare of death from our waitress. I politely thanked her for dropping off our drinks etc. which was completely not responded to. 20 additional minutes go by and finally our food arrives and we're treated to more glaring and weird silence and lack of response to a kind thank you offered to her for her efforts. upon digging into the food it becomes increasingly aware that the crepes are nowhere near the usual standard that are served and certainly was not worth the long drive to the city that it takes coming from Fraser Valley. The Crepes were overcooked and crunchy as well as the batter must have been overworked as they were super elastic and spongy. Overall a very poor experience that will lead me to reconsider coming to Cafe Crepe ever again.

This place has gone downhill in the past months. This experience however prompted me to share. The restaurant was not busy whatsoever on this afternoon (3 tables only). We were seated quite quickly and nicely by the host. The server however was awful and should find another job. It took her 10 mins to come to our table. We suspect she didn't put in our full order as our sides were missing. When we told her, she rudely answered that sides always take longer so we asked to cancel the sides as we've been before and that was not the case. She not once ask if we were ok and when we saw her give our sides with the entree to another table, we asked her why that table got the entree and sides at the same time. She rolled her eyes, said "I don't know what to tell you. Sometimes it comes out sooner, sometimes later." That would be understandable if the restaurant was busy. I would even be able to overlook it had she not had such a rude, condescending, and impatient attitude. Long-time patron to this restaurant no longer. Go to another cafe crepe as the food is generally good but the service will just irk you and leave a bad taste in your mouth.

"Manager dressed in company colours, burgundy and a bowtie. It was fitting since its a French inspired scene and felt in place. Server took my order but the manager did all the work.

Later he explained he instructed his server to focus on other tables and that she isn't ignoring me or neglecting me. I was impressed and tipped knowing food was fast and service was ideal"

This location has been here so many years, and I believe this location opens the earliest then others.
It was Christmas day. My girlfriend and I wanted to walk our husky and grab street food, before handing out presents to the homeless.

I was always a big fan if sweet crepes growing up. But it wasn't until 3 years ago, at the German Christmas festival here in Vancouver, I've experienced savoury crepes with my girlfriend. My whole perception changed. I now also love savoury crepes.

This team on Christmas day was hard working. The person who was making our crepe made a mistake. We didn't get cooked spinach in it so that person added raw spinach. It was Christmas day, it wasn't a big deal. We were just grateful we had the day off honestly. I was waiting outside with my husky and finally my girlfriend came out with the biggest grin on her face.
The savoury crepe is delicious. I would come back again to try other savoury crepes.
Yes. We,re Eating Again.
For all the years that I have been hanging around Vancouver this is the first time I have been to Cafe Crepe. We decided on crepes because my Filipina partner had never had them before! Well, let's fix that! Arriving on Christmas eve at about 10:30 am, there was a bit of a lineup. This was a time when being a two some was an advantage as we were invited in immediately to sit at one of several booths for two. Coffee arrived quickly thank goodness. It was good coffee but I would not come just for that. My partner had the French Toast Crepe which was sweet and tasty with eggs, cinnamon sugar and maple syrup. I went savory and had the Crepe Francaise. They actually had me at "duck confit". The dish came with a little scoop of caramelized onions and a duck 'drumstick' as a sort of garnish. Both were delicious but were barely warm which detracted from the experience a bit. The crepe itself stuffed with confit and cheese was tasty. A little pricey at $16.95 for what you get. Service was efficient and gracious especially considering that the place was jumping. Comfortable booths, the decor evokes Paris (I guess) with posters and tiles and red walls with black accents. Not bad if you are a breakfast person or looking for a sweet snack.

Classic Vancouver street food! Can’t walk one block without running into a cafe crepe. Love how quick and easy it is to eat! Love the classic Nutella, strawberry, banana!
Bri🐶🤞💁
So good I love the Nutella with banana on it!!!It was very filling and delicious I hope I can go back to cafe crepe again and again. It is not the best that I have been to but it is very very good
Christiana
Exactly what you would expect. A variety of savory and sweet crepes. I have to admit the crepe itself is a bit plain, with the filling providing flavor. I was disappointed in that aspect. The west coast crepe was a great mix of salmon amd vegetables. The banana strawberry crepe was sweet and the fruit perfectly ripe. Service at this location was very attentive, adding to the experience.

Went here for a quick dinner with my friend had a chicken burger, it was definitely okay, not much seasoning, but the chicken is still tender and moist, and there's a huge circle of onion and tomato as you can see in the picture, price wise it's still expensive for a chicken burger, but for sure you're getting a real chicken in here.

overall i would say the food is decent, the price is still slightly above average, and love the place to hang out and definitely will come back because they close quite late. and i'd rather have this rather than the fast foods around the area.

Cafe crepe offers exactly what the name would suggest, a variety of luscious crepes that can satisfy either that salty craving, or a persistent sweet tooth. Always a great option to either order on the sidewalk and walk around, or sit down for a bit of a coffee break.
GF
Great for a quick and easy bite on the run. Good range of sweet and savoury. Try the west coast smoked salmon crepe for something a little different.
Alley
Good spot for breakfast on the go. Order s crepe on the sidewalk and a couple of minutes later you will have a nice hot breakfast in your hand

This place was so good we went back the very next day!! Probably the best breakfast I've ever had - the strawberry crepe with a side of bacon. Perfection!!
Vannommers
I have received excellent service at all locations, especially when The servers were willing to accommodate my changes to dishes heh. The sweet crepes are always delicious, but its hard to mess up chocolate and nutella. The savoury crepes deserve applause though! Ham & Cheese crepe is my go-to for a light meal. Perfectly chewy but crispy on the outside. Their fries are also extra crispy and good.

Sad to see so many Bad reviews!. My experiences at this location of cafe crepe have been entirely awesome. I agree that it is a dark atmosphere, if you are sad and need a cheery experience then this place is not for you. It is for the true vancouverite who can bask in the rainy gloom and find other things to lift the spirit like good friends and cheap breakfast! They are not always on it with the coffee refills but don't be shy! They aren't purposely trying to deprive you.. This is a hella busy place. Simply wave someone down and ask for the refills that they are more than happy to dish out. The manager here is awesome! He cares. 100%. If you're looking for a decent inexpensive breakfast and would rather go to a local place than to Denny's, go here!
Jozi
Finally the crepe tastes real!!! I visited there a couple times... this time the crepe was finally made with full of flavor! usually it wasn't served at a right temperature or the crepe was not made freshly???
or maybe I was just so in love with this combination: dark chocolate, caramel with hazelnut.

always love the Polar Bear drink on side :p

It sucks! Food was cold. Never asked if we wanted jam with our toast. Nobody offered more coffee. It says bottomless coffee...more like coffeeless coffee. Won't be back.

All around disappointing. I stopped to get a crepe for supper on my way home and have sadly decided that this is the last time I will be stopping (I have been buying crepes here at least once a week for 2 years). The service tonight was non-existent & the crepe I finallyl got was awful. I waited at the take-out window while one employee walked back & forth in front of me but never acknowledeged me or called for someone to take my order. Just behind him were two other employees, one was making a sandwich, the other was leaning against the counter chatting with him, they both looked in my direction several times but never acknowledged me. After a couple of minutes trying to catch someones eye and at least be acknowledged, I said excuse me could I please order, everyone looked at me then & said it would be a minute. I continued to wait & was just about to walk away (which I should have done) when the 1st fellow finally stopped wandering back & forth & said he would start making my order - I told him what I wanted & finally one of the other fellows came over to put the order into the till, the chatterer just continued to wander around not really doing anything! Finally got my crepe and it was the worst I have ever had - barely warm at all & so salty I could not even finish it. The quality of the crepes has been going steadily downhill since the summer time, but up until tonight, the service at least had been good. This experience was absolutely unexcuseable & I will not be returning.

Worst service ever. We had a brunch there and only ordered standard items off the menu. We were sitting there for at least 40 minutes with people all around us receiving their food before ours. The waiter came to us three separate times to apologize for the delay and offered us fruit until our actual orders were ready. He was great and acted like he was genuinely sorry about the wait. It wasn't until people who came in after us, ordered and got their food before us ( it was a similar order too) that we got annoyed by the wait and asked to talk to the manager. He didn't come out right away to rectify the situation but waited another 10 minutes until our food was ready. Even though he was "sorry" We feel he was not sincere and basically denied we were waiting long and brushed off the fact that other customers were getting their orders before us. He proceeded then to show us the time the order was clocked in to their system and defiantly stated there was no extended length of waiting. Maybe the waiter put the order in late, well never know but the fact is the other customers that came after us, ordered similar meals ( we had time to look), eaten their meals and left before us tells me that something is wrong and above all the managers attitude was not appreciated. He covered our bill, but with reluctance. I've worked in customer service before and in these situations the customer is always right, (even the waiter knew) and its best to talk to customer right away instead of letting us wait longer!

Fun Bite, Not Cheap. Okay, maybe for Vancouver this would be considered a cheap meal, but for the rest of the world, it isn't. Crepes range in price and can easily get into the $7-$9 dollar range. That aside, there are tons of options from simple, delightful crepes, to "Fancy" crepes with brie and jams. You really have to test and try them out. They even have breakfast crepes they fill with eggs and bacon. Okay, so they take what a classic crepe is and stretch it a bit. No biggie.

What makes this location special on Robson, is that you can order to go and eat your juicy crepe as you walk around the lackluster shops. It is a real neat vibe the little restaurant gives off as they also have a bar and interior seating. The place is often quite busy, so plan ahead. Service is usually quite friendly.

I would recommend simpler crepes, but let your tastebuds try some fun stuff out too. This place isn't cheap, as three crepes can get you into the $20 range. Bon Appétit.

Breakfast deal!!!. I thought they were kidding for a 4 dollar breakfast.. Checked it out and crepe deal strawberry or blueberry jam crepe with regular coffee...there was even crepe for the day cream cheese with ur choice of jam.. Pretty good crepe too.Way to start your day!!

The tourist business. We stepped in with friends for a late breakfast.
The atmosphere is dark and dull, saddened us.
We had eggs&bacon, savory crepe and sweet crepe, none of that would convince us to come back; the quality of coffee used for the latte was bad as well.
Our opinion of the place is negative (4.5/10).

Where is my authentic exotic crepe?. I've been ordering the Exotic Crepe every time I come to the Granville Cafe Crepe. When I first tried this same dish from the Robson store, I was really disappointed. I used to love this crepe because of its strong rum flavour which makes it special and tasty. However, what I got from the $7 crepe was just a few banana slices and sprinkles of coconut flake. It tasted pretty much like eating bread and banana together.
Nevertheless, its cappuccino was pretty rich and tasty. All of the servers were quite attentive and friendly. If I decide to go back here, crepe won't be in my order list.

Pretty good for the price. Came here one morning during the week and seriously, for $6, it was a pretty decent breakfast! I have absolutely no complaints. Service was good as well. If you're looking for a gourmet breakfast though, this isn't the place.
Craig Fraser
Overpriced Pancakes. Crepes are tasty, no doubt, but seriously, trying to pawn off a pancake with nutella or cheap jam as sit-down gourmet is pushing it. Price it for what it is and I'll drop in once in a while. In the meantime I'll get a real dessert for that price.
Tania
Great crepes, friendly service. Delicious crepes...absolutely excellent and friendly staff!

The cafe crepe omelette was to die for! After eating at several other breakfast places and having $50-$60 tabs, this place was a delight! $27 for the mist delectable omelette you could ask for.

Cold service, cold crepes. We thought it might be best for breakfast to get seats inside rather than stand on the street. Wrong-O. The place wasn't even that busy and the service took way too long to take our orders. We hadn't gotten our drinks -- or our cutlery -- by the time the crepes arrived. And then by the time we got the forks, the crepes were cool. Bad, bad, bad. I tried to project a different experience of service and predict whether the crepes would taste better. I couldn't do it.
No Dessert Im Full
Crepes..... Well having crepes period is new for me. There are a lot of interesting choices, I go for the strawberry stuffed crepe with some ice cream on the side. It was good! It would appear they have some decent drink prices as well but strangely I didn't feel like a beer with my strawberry stuffed crepe :)

Great service (for me anyway). Lovely male servers at this place. Great Italian coffee, very good. Their fries aren't that great, but their burgers are pretty good. Crepes are all good.

Nice place to relax and have some cheap pitchers of Granville Island beer. Oh, and their bathrooms are alright, usually clean.
Adam
Very customizable crepe menu with good service. The cappuccinos aren't great.

Cafe Crepe. One of the best places to go and eat and chill and have a pitcher!
Always cool people working there and coming in there.
The location is really nice top it off right downtown.

Visiting from out of town and had an amazing breakfast here yesterday do we came back again today for another amazing breakfast. Food and service top notch!

Mmmm. Banana and dark chocolate!

Ok Crepes, poor service. We decided to go inside and sit down for service. It took a long time to even get our orders taken, and even longer for our food to come out. (Our order was also screwed up). The food itself was mediocre--I got a savory crepe and my girlfriend got a sweet crepe, and neither fell in my top 50% of crepes. Would not come here again.

Good Food/Good Price. My family had lunch at the Cafe Crepe in Robson at we were very happy. We were surprised that at the prices of the food were very reasonable and the taste was just fabulous. I particulary like the chicken burger, it was juicy and reasonably priced. The service was great.
Peter
Slow! We came here early for breakfast and it wasn't too busy so we expected to be in and out fairly quickly. By the time our food came to us it was cold however, it tasted good. In the time it took to bring us the bill I registered for urbanspoon and wrote this review, so slow!
SR
Great!. I love Cafe Crepe and this is one of my favorite locations.
Vancouverfoodie
Friendly and Quick Service. I was here on weekend and was surprised to find that there was a lot more on the menu than crepes. My friend and I both had the Eggs Bennedict. They were delicious. Our server was very efficient and funny and the best part of the experience was the bil. I could not believe how inexpensive it was... We will be back.

Great. This is great when you're in a hurry and just want to grab something quick and yummy on the way. There are many choices of crepes and the ones that i've ordered didn't fail to impress me. It's quite good and i would recommend to all the crepe-lovers out there

Fast, delicious.

Crappy Gallic-inspired service but delicious crepes and wonderful fries.

Won't Be Back. While the Crepe was pretty good, the rest of breakfast was cold, we had to ask for water 3 times and our bill twice. Terrible service! For a place this busy you would think they would have it dialed in - but no, just the opposite.
Chase Anderson
So satisfying. My first crepe years ago, and the standard by which all others are judged. Wonderful. I like a basic egg, cheese and black pepper.

I recommend walking up to the window, rather than agonizing with the slow service (and cramped quarters) inside.
Mike B
It was heavenly. The bill produced a bit of sticker shock but the food was excellent. Great to try once but the value isn't there to make it a regular stop. When relatives come to town I will take them. I guess that is the point, it is a sweet indulgence. If it were cheap the entire greater Vancouver area would be diabetic.

Love nutella? .....the love Cafe Crepe.. When I was little my mom would lovingly spoon extra nutella for me on my morning toast or add a quick spoonful to my milk. Recently I became pregnant and found that I was craving nutella! Hmmm...what to do I started thinking-until one of my friends mentioned how she had just had the most exquisite nutella and strawberry crepe at Cafe Crepe on granville. It just so happens that I live fairly close by and was able to convince my adoring husband to walk the dog-and grab me a nutella, banana, strawberry, coconut crepe...after all I am the one carrying the baby:) Craving fulfilled!

Yummy Crepes, Inside Service Slooooooooow. We've enjoyed crepes at Cafe Crepe twice now and each time we ate inside. First, the bad: never, NEVER go inside if you want quick service. This morning, we were at our table for just over an hour before our breakfast was served. This seems to be the norm so if you're in a hurry (or have anywhere to go for the next two hours) make sure to order from the front window.

Now for the good: the crepes are wonderful, light and fluffy with delicious fillings! We've opted for savory crepes both times but the sweet crepes look like they'd be perfect for dessert one evening. There are so many choices, I think I'd be in crepe nirvana if I could try samples of all of them.

Don't miss Cafe Crepe when you're strolling on Robson!

Great breakfast combo! For $4 you get a crepe and any size coffee. I got to choose from a limited crepe menu, nothing fancy. I went with Cinnamon-Sugar crepe. It tasted delightful, just like eating a cinnamon bun , but in a crêpe form. They were able to make it pretty quickly too. Before I had finished adding cream to my coffee, my crepe was ready. The Coffee The coffee? Hmm, is there such thing as sommelier for coffee? If so, well, I’m not it. I can’t really tell the difference in quality between a $1/cup coffee and a $4/cup coffee. To me, it was good enough. There were four sizes of coffee to choose from: Small, Regular, Medium, and Large. I went with Medium. Should have gone for Large. The Service Now, whenever I read restaurant reviews nowadays, people seem to complain so much about service, and not even mentioning the food. I think those people have thought that they came to a palace instead of a restaurant. Here’s my experience. I was offered the menu the moment I s

Me and my friend was having late night cravings for dessert before heading home. We decided to eat sweet crepe. Luckily the place was not that busy. The server was very friendly and funny. Service was very quick and good. The place was dark and has a retro vibe. They also offer savory crepes, wines and other beverages. Located at Robson Street. Dark Chocolate, Caramel, Coconut Sweet Crepe I am a fan of chocolate mix with caramel. They just taste so good. The crepe was oozing with dark chocolate with shredded coconuts on the inside. The drizzle caramel on top made it more yummier. Sweetness was just right and the aroma of the shredded coconut smells good. The crepe was perfectly cooked. Nutella, Fresh Strawberry My friend ordered this one because she loves Nutella. She let me try it and it was good but nothings special. Maybe because I am used to eating Nutella. A perfect balance flavor between Nutella and Strawberries. Posted on May 27 / 3 notes / # cafe crepe # chocolate # nutella #

This is one of the more popular staples of Robson street. Who hasn’t once stopped here for a snack in between shopping stops? At this location of “Cafe Crepe” you can either enjoy your crepe to go or have it while dining in. If to go, you place your order as you stand on the sidewalk. Then either enjoy your crepe as a hand held while walking or stationary on the wooden benches out front. Though I prefer to go inside for the comforts of their warm and dry booths. The room was set in dark chocolate colours, walls rich in deep red and earthy brown tones. A large contrasted to the 50′s style black and white checkered floor. Marble like columns and spinning ceiling fans added to the mishmash of decor pieces. If you looked closely the age of the place is apparent. With discoloured tiles and warn out table edges it was obvious things were well used. Though the smell of crepes hid everything behind the glamour of delicious buttery and sugary goodness. A group of us (7) went for a late dessert around 9:30pm on a Wednesday night. I was surprised to see a hostess that seated us for a cafe. He put 2 tables together so that we could all sit together. The interior was dark, with black and white tiles. Nothing fancy, but with comfortable booth benches and friendly service, you can spend a lot of time there. I ordered hot water with lemon, and sugar butter crepe $3.95 with whipping cream $1.50. The crepe was delicious, and the additional cream made it even more irresistible. (yes, I love cream). The server did screw up on one of our order, putting whip cream instead of ice cream. They ended up putting ice cream on top of the whipping cream…I’m not sure if she got charged for both… Sugar butter crepe $3.95 with whipping cream $1.50 Great service and good food. I wished though that they had a more extensive sweet crepes menu such as with strawberries, blueberries, peaches, kiwis, etc. They did have jam, but it’s not the same as fresh fruits!

3.8/5 [Right Beside The Orpheum] ~$20 Since my friend and I were performing in the Orpheum later, we decided to hit up Cafe Crepe. We both got the Nutella Latte ($4)which was absolutely DELICIOUS . Nutella's hazelnut works perfectly with the espresso's slight bitterness. We both adored it. Perfectly sweetened. I then ordered the cheese and egg crepe with mushrooms. And then I added fries. It was a hefty crepe. The crepe was a little doughy than I prefer. It was leaning towards pancake than crepe. I wish it was crispier but nevertheless it was pretty good. I suggest you just order the cheese with mushrooms since the eggs are pretty much non-existent. The fries were great, thin cut and good and very salted. Would order as a side dish again. My friend got the west coast special and really liked hers. Not bad. Angel

I find that they serve reliable food and that the service is quick. Good when you’re on the way to the airport. Today, I had the West Coast Eggs Benedict, made with smoked salmon. It tasted pretty good, although the benny was warm in the middle and the outside, room temperature. It’s definitely a serviceable breakfast, for a city that doesn’t seem to have much open early on the weekends.
Constant Cravings
They put about 9 pieces of dark chocolate squares onto the crepe and then wait for it to melt and then they slice up a whole banana for it! The dark chocolate was just bitter enough so that you knew it was dark chocolate and the crepe was chewy and soft too. Delicious! While I was waiting for my crepe, they were also handing out samples of the ham and cheese crepe which was also tasty.
Myyummycravings
Cafe crepe is the only cafe that can make this crepe perfected to my taste. I have tried Orange Corner's version of it, but I did not like their batter and the richness of the butter was just not evident in the taste. Meanwhile, Cafe Crepe's crepe was chewy and moist to my liking and with no cardboard flavor like Mazuzu crepe? ( in aberdeen). I should avoid going near Cafe Crepe so much, it is really hard to resist such death craving temptations.
Eat. Drink. Repeat.
Delicious crepes with all the fillings and combinations you can think of,
The Hungry Nomad
My favorites include the jambon, fromage and mushrooms; chicken and mayo; dark chocolate and strawberries and the plain Nutella crepes.

i have been to all locations of cafe crepe but i usually dine at the one located at robson street as the service is much better and the chances of getting seats are way higher.

A popular franchise found downtown and in other parts of Vancouver, Café Crepe is a bit of an oddity.

Since there is a line up every time we walk past the Café Crepe location on Robson Street near Burrard we figured that there must be a reason. The day we went for breakfast was a rainy one (and a weekday) so we only had to wait a few minutes for a table;
