Visited in June - arriving with a reservation, we had a short but reasonable wait to be seated. The atmosphere was very vibrant (some may find it noisy) but it didn't impair our conversation. Our waitress was friendly and chatty and got us the happy hour drinks menu which hadn't been on our table and we'd have ordered full priced drinks without knowing. We have to recommend the crispy ribs they were excellent. The Jamaican and Cajun chicken dishes were both flavoursome with the chicken being very tender. Couldn't fault the night, service or food
The atmosphere was nice and the service was decent considering that I was part of a large group. I had the quinoa and avocado power bowl because I was looking for something a little healthier. It was good and I would recommend it. However, just for those considering this dish - I was expecting a bowl with more quinoa, but it was more of a salad plate with quinoa garnishing. Still good.
I enjoyed the food and atmosphere in this location, the staff were extremely polite and friendly and the service was very good and quick, I enjoyed it
My BFF was visiting from Toronto last month and we decided to go to Earl’s Test Kitchen to grab some food before watching a movie. It’s located down the block from the Scotiabank theatre on Hornby and Smithe. It’s so convenient there’s no way you can be late for the movie! We watched Guardians of the Galaxy which was pretty funny. This was my first time at this Earl’s. In fact, I think this is the first time I’ve been to any Earl’s in ages!
Earls Test Kitchen is the place to go for happy hour before watching a movie at night. What is different about this Earls is that it is a culinary playground to craft different dishes and drinks that may influence the other Earl’s menu in North America. The place was packed and we wanted to come here to catch happy hour. All items are smaller versions of what on the regular menu, but cheaper.
Met up with R for another Happy Hour adventure! This time we decided to go to Earls Test Kitchen because it was close to my work. Their happy hour is from 3 pm – 6 pm. We got there around 5:45 pm and it was really busy!. What we drank: Moscow Mule and Mojito ($7 each). My Mule was pretty light on the alcohol, but the Mojito definitely packed a punch! Pretty standard drinks.
Pictured: Lemon Meringue in drink form? Yes please, Earls! Even better on Fridays when they’re $2 off all signature cocktails. One of each please! I don’t normally go to Earls as I rather try different types of restaurants every time I go out, however, I do find that the few times I’ve been here for work lunches, the Earls Test Kitchen does produce good quality food and the fun part here is that being a test kitchen, you can try some new menu items that they are testing out. I think I would rather go here though for happy hour - the drinks are decently priced and the cocktails are pretty dang delicious!
I went there with my friend. It was 9 and we were hungry. Waited for 5 min and we got seated. Service was good. The atmosphere there was excited. We ordered a noodles and a rice bowl. Tasted good.
The three of us sat in the C-shaped booth on Chinese New Day for a late lunch. The restaurant was spacious with modern decor. I was impressed that all the cutlery were engraved with the Earl’s ‘e’ on the handle. I ordered the Grilled Chicken Caesar $15. You had an option of choosing cajun or hot garlic chicken. I chose cajun. I was quite surprised with the size. It came on a large plate, though mostly all romaine. The leafy greens were fresh and crisp. There were a couple of croutons. I like the shredded cheese that blanketed the leafs like snow. The dressing was really good. The chicken were a bit burnt, but flavourful. The bread was crumbly and dry. I’m not a fan of bread, though I do love most complimentary buns that come out at finer restaurants at the beginning. I was also already full when I had finished the salad and chicken, so I only had a bite from the bread.
I am officially in love this place! I love the ambiance and space they have. The service is great, the menu is pretty vast, and the food is quite well prepared as well. Plus the happy hour specials are amazing between 3-6 and 9-close. Highly recommended!
Great ambience, friendly staff and nice service. The food tasted great. Great prices on appies and drinks during happy hour. Not expensive for the ambience and taste. Limited parking space. Washrooms were clean and is located upstairs.
I visited the restaurant on November 30th 2020. Excellent place, food and services. Nothing negative to comment on. Absolutely perfect.
Excellent food and drinks. Ambiance can get very loud, and the prices are on the higher end but worth it. (Sweet deals if you go for happy hour, highly recommend that)
Waiter took extra care to be sure of allergies and the manager even came by to triple check everything for my girlfriends gluten allergy which was very much appreciated.
Any time we’re back in Vancouver, Earls is definitely a stop! Excited to try the one back in Toronto!
Earls is always a great choice to either dine-in or take-out! Kudos for implementing the QR codes to see the menu and pay. I highly recommend the Steak & sushi, the Earl’s wings and the Cajun Blackened Chicken 😋 If the weather is nice, eat in the patio 👍🏼
Dining at the Earl’s test kitchen was an excellent experience.
We ordered the Santa Fe salad (a classic!) and the prawn sushi tacos, and the truffle fries to share. Everything was delicious.
We frequently visit the King St. location in Toronto and so we were happy to have such a great experience dining at the test kitchen while we were visiting Vancouver.
Fortunately, so far I’ve experienced the same food and cuisine in different branches of Earls.
Service quality is the same as any other branch and servers are friendly enough. The location is really good in the heart of down town near Cineplex and Burrard street.
The waiters and waitresses are welcome to you and you have no issues regarding ordering time and food preparation time.
🥗 The salads are usually good and tasty in earls and you have the option for adding some protein like Salmon or shrimp on top. Mother earth is always a good option.
🥙 Vegan Hunan Kung Pao is one of my favorites as the ingredients mix well and create a nice taste in your mouth. Part of it is peanuts that makes it different.
🍱 Lettuce wrap is much like Wok-Fried Tofu Lettuce Wrap apart from some Tofu inside (which could be added to Lettuce wrap). Both are good to try.
In general, Earls always provides a decent food & service. You can try them anytime & enjoy!
