Yew Seafood + Bar is located inside the Four Seasons Hotel in Downtown Vancouver. The interior has a lot of wooden accents and is beautifully appointed. I’ve been by a few times for dinner, but this was my first time to try their brunch. I stopped by earlier this week to try out their new brunch offer. For any brunch entree ordered, you can add $20 to make it a full three course meal (appetizer, dessert and coffee or juice). Brunch is served on the weekend from 11:30 am until 2:30 pm.
Spot prawns are available now and for a limited time at the Four Seasons Hotel Vancouver’s YEW seafood + bar where Chef Edgar Kano is cooking up a terrific Spot Prawn Boil with these local beauties. Succulent and delicious local spot prawns are a delicacy not to be missed. If you've missed Spot Prawn Boil you should make a point of going for YEW's Crab & Lobster Boil. The ultra-popular Crab + Lobster Boils are in full swing and due to demand they've added new dates through July and August. These fun-filled, seafood dinners come with a mouthwatering array of sides and finish with a sensational seasonal Fresh BC Cherry Clafoutis.

The new menus are littered with fresh, west coast fare including plates like trout toast, cured salmon, halibut, and other turns at classically prepared dishes paired with new, playful cocktails from the well-mannered hotel bar.
Service: At a place this calibre, you would think the service would be spectacular. Our server was disengaged and showed no interest in his job. I've been to places where the server was warm and this one was cold af. . Atmosphere: Loved the decor, taking our jackets was a nice touch.
YEW Seafood + Bar is one of the most popular, upscale contemporary restaurants in Vancouver. Located inside the Four Seasons Hotel in Downtown Vancouver, YEW Seafood + Bar specializes in Pacific Northwest cuisine with a focus on seafood. I recently took advantage of the Travelzoo deal which is a dinner for two priced at $109 (essentially 50% off). The deal includes two appetizers, two entrees and two desserts from the dinner menu, along with a glass of wine each. The great part about this deal is that you get to order off the regular dinner menu.
Got an almost free dinner in Yew's, a friend knows a friend working there so we only paid for our main course! To say the seafood spaghetti is good may be an understatement... never had pasta that fresh before with scallops seared golden brown and the inside glistening and the other seafood just blends so well together with the bisque not fishy at all. The tartar was good too oh and the star - the lobster bisque - best lobster bisque Ive ever tried - the first sip already gives you the depth and freshness of the ocean~~
To end our Dine Out adventures this year, we decided on YEW, located at the Fairmont beside Pacific Center. They offered a $40 3-course menu with optional wine pairings for each course (various prices). The inside decor is classy but felt comforting. Our server was very friendly and started us with some hot water. Adorables said that he looked familiar, almost like a person he had met during a volunteering mission many years ago!
We were provided with bread to start, Adorables and I gorged on their bread with herb butter.
I ended up dipping my bread in their Yew Lobster Bisque with crispy leek and croutons. I enjoyed this dish the first time I came, but it had been so long I didn't really remember the taste, only "it was good". This was a very creamy but thin bisque. Rich lobster shell flavor. Although it was a small bowl, it soon proved to be a little much all for myself (of course I shared the rest with Adorables).
I talked Adorables into getting the Albacore Tuna with green lentil salad and winter vegetables. Plated as a tower of fish on top of a green lentil salad and garnished with winter vegetables, it was a beautifully colorful arrangement.
Tuna was nice and fresh, lentil added texture to the mushy tuna. Gotta say their plating was simple yet elegant.
I knew it was a silly idea but we both chose more fish for our meal, with Adorables getting the Roasted Salmon with Greek style vegetables and coriander. The fish was cooked perfectly, flakey and not overdone. A golden sheen on the outside on a bed of veggies and soup. Adorables enjoyed the pairing of soup to his fish. I was impartial to this.
I had the Pan Fried Sablefish with vegetables spaghetti, coconut and bouillabaisse. This was a magnificent dish. The sablefish was flakey, moist, and melted in my mouth. Paired with the delicious bouillabaisse-- the dish was well enhanced. I liked this "soup" base more than the one Adorables had since it was more fragrant and full-bodied. The vegetable spaghetti was fine and nicely twirled on my fork.
Onto the dessert round! Their Green Mountain was made with green tea, chestnut, and vanilla yuzu creme. It was a smooth, creamy explosion of green tea flavor in my mouth. The chestnut was very sweet but in small amounts was fine with the rest of the dessert. I loved the shape of it, so cute!
Couldn't decide on the other dessert, our server recommended the Jitters Gateau made with coffee and brown butter Pain de Gênes, coffee cream, and coffee hazelnut streusel. It was amazing! I don't know what made the crunchy bits, but along with the cream and cake-- this was a wonderful dessert experience with a variety of sweet and bitter and textures too!
By the end of the night, we had fully enjoyed our meal and spent some time looking through old photos trying to remember the name of the guide who led the volunteer mission in Morocco-- it turns out our server was indeed the same person! He was still building the school, and it had expanded to become a community center with healthcare included. What an amazing end to our evening, and what a small world it is to reunite with old faces halfway across the world!
After a decorated New Year Eves bash, one would think to stay home after an evening of bottle-popping festivities. Nope, not us! Hungover or not, one does not forgo the habitual Sunday brunch. Ringing in 2017 with a meal at Yew Seafood + Bar seemed appropriate enough, being that we wouldn't normally spend $100 on brunch (we're indulgent, but not that indulgent...we have textbooks to pay for!)
We were just at the Fairmount the night before (having attended New Year's at the The Hotel Vancouver) and yet, we were downtown again for brunch the very next day.
A round of oysters, gluten-free fish & chips (yes, such a thing exists) and Mahi Mahi made for a satisfying brunch indeed (but maybe not $100 satisfying...hey, Jeremy was treating alright.)
Post-brunch we went for dessert at Trees Organic (not our first choice but everything else was closed for New Years Day.)
Got the $80 coupon through Travelzoo for a regular $125 3-course dinner for two. The food was good but with only two options for appetizers and only Steak or Salmon for main course. Both the dishes were done perfectly. But I will not go for the discounted coupon next time.
GREAT GRILLED CHEESE ON WEEKEND BRUNCH MENU
We checked into the Four Seasons on Saturday and went to their restaurant, Yew for lunch. We sat at the bar and had a nice Canadian Cabernet. We ordered the grilled cheese which is served with tomato soup. Neither my wife or I like tomato soup but they gladly substituted chicken noodle. The grilled cheese sandwich include ham and a fried egg and was nice and stringy.
We have since been here a couple of times for drinks. The bartender even hand stuffed blue cheese olives for my wife.
TL;DR: Awesome atmosphere, awesome bar, awesome service, awesome FOOD (and scones)!
I really enjoyed dining at YEW. We came in a bit early and they let us sit at the bar where we had some amazing cocktails served by some of the most attentive staff I've seen in a while. The whole look of YEW was sleek and modern but the servers were so friendly and downtoearth, it felt like a restaurant in the neighborhood.
So now, the food...I am a scallop lover and damn, did those scallops hit the spot. I had the scallops with pork belly, amazing! My boyfriend had the grilled plate with 2 different types of fish, shrimp and scallops. Amazing plating and taste. We also ordered some oysters which were so fresh, I prefer YEW over Rodneys! I can't wait to go again!
Also, they serve scones instead of bread. We asked to take our remaining scones with us and they gave us double to take home. My boyfriend was very very happy the next morning.
This is one of my favourite restaurants in Vancouver. The food is creative and delicious and the room is beautiful. They have a really good vegan menu too. The vegan nachos, with crispy tortillas and loaded with avocado, are really special. Definitely recommended for everything from a casual lunch to a special night out.
They're renovating right now so you have to go across to the lounge. Very old school decor but service is still amazing the seafood tackle box was a great deal see my picture which includes clam salad. Viking Bay muscles. Albacore tuna. We wai kai scallops. huge jumbo prawns and fried won ton chips. Pair it with a nice riesling and what a meal! Portions are small but trust me it's filling!!
Ended up here on a Sunday Brunch. I ordered the Smoked Salmon Benny. It was quite a large plate. It was on an english muffin with some capers and asparagus with a side of roasted potatoes. The hollandaise sauce was excellent and the asparagus had the right amount of crunch. The only thing I didn't like was the capers, although to be fair I am not generally a fan of them.
I've mentioned I'm not a huge fan of desserts, like well.. okay if it's there obviously I am not going to say no. It's just not in the same category as wine and cheese for me. Like I will ALWAYS have to have a glass of wine with my food, like there's no negotiating with that. I take cheese and meat over cheesecake any day though. So welcome to my favourite place in Vancouver for charcuterie.
This was when Yew was featuring their cocktail served in a crystal glass that's worth $300 more than the cocktail itself. Pretty cool. I forgot the details as this was last year, but you can guess it was fancy. I don't remember the details of this set menu as, for good reasons the menu at Yew (like many other award winning restaurants) changes if not daily than from season to season. Depending on what's fresh and what's currently in, which based on my opinion is the best way to eat.
I know I am late, like very late on this. But it's okay, better late than never.. sometimes. Thanksgiving was maybe two weeks ago and this is my first year going out for this holiday. Ps: thanksgiving is my favourite holiday.. (pss: I say this about every holiday when it comes around). To welcome the first turkey of the year, my friend and I all went to Yew.
You can always tell the quality of a hotel and its restaurant by its lobby and that did not disappoint. The restaurant is on the second floor of the Four Seasons Hotel, kitty corner to their front desk, sandwiched by hair salons and high end boutiques. A school of carved wood fish swam towards you at the divide between hotel and restaurant foyer. It was a thoughtful reference to the fresh seafood they offered.
As one might expect with Four Seasons, a superb experience. Off the top, absolutely stellar service. Varied menu, with a strong focus on seafood, obviously, but their vegan options are impressive. The biggest drawback was the wine list. Not in terms of quality, but an average of $15-20 per glass is hefty. Ouch. Still, an excellent experience.

Modern Mix Vancouver had the opportunity to check out the weekend brunch offerings at YEW seafood + bar, located within the Four Seasons Hotel in downtown Vancouver. Being a seafood restaurant, YEW has made sustainable seafood choices with their menu items, and has been part of the Vancouver Aquarium’s Ocean Wise program since 2012. This program is a national conservation initiative created to educate and empower consumers about the issues surrounding sustainable seafood. Four Season’s executive chef Ned Bell is an active ambassador for this program, and recently completed a bike ride across Canada to raise awareness about sustainable seafood.
Ethical & Sustainable Seafood!. When I think of Vancouver, I immediately think of the West Coast, and naturally, seafood. Like fresh, really fresh, seafood. Hubby and I love Vancouver for its natural beauties, and seafood is definitely on that list. We visited YEW Seafood & Bar for lunch while we were in town a few months back to check out their seafood platter, as we heard lots of good things about it!
Came here during dine out Vancouver, and definitely worth the price and the rating. The sides, bread was good, and ordered a drinnk not sure if they were able to make blood orange old fashioned, they made it, and the drink was definitely above average but not super wow type, the ambiance is really great, and looking at the private room where there are a lot of wine bottles, that place is great, and for the appetizer i chose the wild mushroom, very very delicious, i must say, I was able to taste each different mushroom that was presented, and all taste distinguishable and yet still in a very delicous way. there were mild zings in taste of certain mushroom and i find it very fascinating. For the main course I chose the Ling Cod, it taste very very smooth, and somewhat fatty too which is a very very tender and moist bite, and the sauce is slightly sweet, which complements the moist tender cod. definitely good bite after bite, one that hopes never ends for 19 minutes. but reasltically after the first 2 slow minutes of tasting how awesome it's, i couldn't resist and chow down the whole fish within 10 minutes. then for the desert, I had wild forest pavlova. definitely didn't regret each single bite and moment from the beginning to the end.
overall I love the place and the dine out a lot! like a lot, compared to other dine out restaurants I have went, this definitely is by far the best, and I would recommend this place for dine out vancouver, the food is definitely great no doubt. will definitely come back again
Great atmosphere. Started with the salmon bread roll (amazing-salty-delicious) & lemon-thyme roll. Then the lobster (superbly prepared) with a kilted mule cocktail. Excellent experience! Highly recommend.
I really liked this restaurant. I usually don't go to bougie places when I'm with my baby because she is a little crazy but we were on vacation and decided why the heck not. Anyways, the seafood chowder was soo good. I could have probably eaten that everyday I was there. For my main, I ordered the salmon. The salmon itself was a little bit dry but the gnocchi was cooked beautifully. Service was quick and friendly, just how I like it. Definitely recommended if you like seafood!
July 30, 2015 · by ThatShanghaiGirl · I got to visit Yew for a cocktail party hosted by Gastropost (shoutout, thanks for the invite!) They reserved the back area of the restaurant for the party and we got to have some great bites along with some yummy cocktails! I’m not sure if they have all these items on their regular menu, but if not I’m sure they can make them for you if you are also hosting a party there.......
They have the best seafood chowder! It is so flavorful, rich, and... just yummy!
Service is always great. Attentive, friendly, and helpful.
Nice selection of wine, which you can order a bottle for half price on Sundays :)
I cannot afford to go there every weekend so once a month is maximum I can try. It hurts my wallet but it is totally worth it!
My family had a gift card for YEW, so we decided to try out their 3-course brunch – only available on Saturdays & Sundays from 11:30am to 2:30pm. This brunch allows you to add $10 to your entrée price to get an appetizer & a dessert! Overall, definitely a bit overpriced. I felt like some dishes were just "nicely-plated-average-dishes". I really liked those complimentary mini donuts though :D
Had the golden trout with out of town friends. Simply delicious and nothing less than what you would expect from a Four Seasons restaurant. Good service, wine and good friends, already planning our next visit
Always good and relaxing place to go in the town. I have been here couple of times, food is always well-prepared and I always appreciate their service. Then I again went there last night for my dinner, great food always. I had lobster tacos last night plus added spot prawn. I liked the crispy wonton shell and the very light lobster salad filling. Although the spot prawn also tasted very good, I was a little shocked by its outrageous price ($20 for 4 pieces).
The after dinner gift was dark chocolate plus raspberries(I think?), great for chocolate lover(probably most people would like it, not for me. ) upset that I actually don't like chocolate ;_;
Anyways, it was still a very nice dining experience, I definitely recommend this place for special occasions :-)

Yew had a special brunch offering where you add $10 to any of their brunch entrées to turn it into a three course meal. But first, they brought out these complimentary mini donuts with a slightly tart lime/raspberry dipping sauce.
February 24, 2015 evelyneats Downtown Vancouver 0 Fitting for the long weekend, my parents came to visit for Family Day and true to my mother’s Asian nature and with some help from Urbanspoon, we ended up purchasing a Travelzoo coupon to YEW seafood + bar located downtown in the Four Seasons Hotel. We ended up opting for the Seafood Tower for Four option, which regularly runs at $99 but with the deal, it was only $59! The seafood tower had a really good selection of chilled fresh and raw seafood items: local oysters, crab salad, humpback shrimp, albacore tuna, scallops, lobster and BC spot prawn. All the items were presented in tiny mason jars stacked on ice in the tower and the crab and lobster came on top of an avocado salad. Alongside was a generous portion of deep fried wonton skins which you could pair with the seafood items. The crunch of the wonton definitely added much needed texture and it wasn’t overly seasoned so as to overwhelm the seafood. The tower came with a selection of sauces (which I can’t remember all of them now), but my favourite was a unique red miso and maple sauce that they had! After the tower, we decided to give the Yew Chowder a try since it’s noted as the “ Winner of Critics & Peoples Choice Awards at Oceanwise Chowder Chowdown 2015″. I’ll admit, I didn’t do much research into the chowder so I wasn’t quite sure what to expect, but in my opinion it was a bit disappointing. While it was filled with lots of seafood goodness, and had a good thick and creamy texture as you would expect with chowder, the soup was overly sweet in flavour. I have a suspicion that it’s due to the candied fish and apples that are in the chowder. Yew Chowder with creamy smoked cod, candied sablefish and Okanagan apples. We ended off the night with some dessert, which was my favourite part of the meal. Actually, the ice cream on the dessert was the best part – they had some pretty interesting flavours considering you wouldn’t expect a seafood restaurant to be great
Beet root salad, lobster carbonara and a lovely red wine. Beet root salad was ok, but, not as good as I thought it would be, needs to have a few more cooked beets and less paper thin shavings of beets. Would be nicer with a little better dressing. Not much flavour so we were a little disappointed
Carbonara was excellent and delicious , I am sorry, I wish I could tell you the name of the wine, but, I will just say it was very good, no disappointment there, Service was very good, all in all as good evening out and a good experience.
Great ambiance - OK food. So, overall - the restaurant is LOVELY. Service was good... we ordered the chilled platter for two - good amount of food that is for sure... for mains, we had the tuna, which was ok... a bit on the bland side... and the gratain - which was great... in my opinion there are other places in vancouver you can go for better quality for a reasonable price. But.... for dinner with the parents... you cant go wrong... overall i give it a 7/10...
Hamid, our server, was super. Fish was fresh and tasty. Got the kale salad (too much dressing for me, but I dont like any dressing on my veggies), crab tacos, and a seafood platter. Overal experience was excellent. Highly recommended!!
Amazing experience at Yew. After a horrible experience at Black and blue, I decided to take my group of friends for dessert and drinks at Yew. I've always had a great experience here and the food and drink is always above par. As soon as we entered the restaurant we were greeted by warm smiles and the hostess found 8 of us ladies perfect table. We were introduced to our server Jason who was lovely and very polite and offered us Yew's amazing popcorn to start. Service was prompt, polite and fun. Dave, one of the best servers in Vancouver even stopped by to say hello! We did not feel rushed at all. The desserts were to die for. The chocolate cheesecake mousse was delicious, as was the apple type tart. We even tried the mango, Earl Grey, and caramel ice cream! Everything was lovely and delicious. Overall we had an amazing experience and we will be returning. Kudos to Jason, Dave and the awesome Yew team for creating an amazing dining experience.
Very good service. Service at this restaurant, which is inside the Fours Seasons Hotel, was very good. The food was also good and the rib eye wagyu steak was reasonably priced at about $50 (I'm used to paying more for wagyu). The raw oysters were fresh, the appetizers interesting and original and the dessert was delicious. There is also an extensive wine list with several by-the-glass wine options. The menu is dominated by seafood but there are other choices as well.
An excellent place for vegans. You'll need to ask them to bring you their separate vegan menu, if you want to eat vegan food here. You won't be disappointed if you do. The food is excellent (and what a treat to have one's own whole menu of the stuff). The portions are the right sort of size, so that you'll want to eat a full three courses. The dining room is glamourous, in the high, grand style that only hotels seem to manage. The bar area is a bit more intimate. We had a reservation on the first occasion that we came here, but walked in on the second and third, and there was no difficulty about accommodating us. The service has been excellent on all three occasions. We like it a lot. It isn't cheap, but nor is there any reason to expect it to be.
The spot for great seafood and an awesome atmosphere.. The seafood at Yew restaurant is amazing and also has a spectacular wine list. The mussels were a fantastic appetizer and the scallop shrimp were a great entree. If you have a sweet tooth the rhubarb pie is one of the best.
The staff at Yew go over and above, thanks for the great experience I will be back.
Great service, excellent food.. We had really attentive and courteous service, food was well executed. I especially loved the complimentary scones. We came here for lunch one day, although the restaurant was full, we were immediately seated. All the staff were very professional and friendly. The food came out surprisingly quick for a lunch rush. Overall a very pleasant and enjoyable lunch!
We had VERY good service. The food was delicious. Atmosphere was modern and upbeat. This 4S is one of the oldest in the world, but was renovated right before the 2010 Olympics. Yew was added at that time and it's been a great addition to this hotel. I would definitely come again...
Awesome food but table service was awful. I was seated at the bar since my table was not ready yet. Service at the bar was fantastic. After I was seated, my server ignored me and seemed to forget about me entirely on a SLOW night. By the time he got to me one of the dishes I wanted was actually 'sold out 2 minutes ago' Well, maybe it would not have been had get gotten to me sooner. I nearly fell asleep just waiting to for 2nd dish and for him to check in on me. At end of the night he did not even bother bringing me the customary chocolate cookie.
The food was prepared and executed perfectly. My compliments to both the chef
and staff at the bar. Would I go back??? Maybe, the food was fantastic but service was just so bad on such a slow night, I might just get my seafood fix at one of the other fine seafood restaurants around.
Nice atmosphere and I was so happy to see a vegan menu. The vegan risotto was ok but the vegan brownie with sorbet was awesome. They brought out salmon cakes while we were waiting which was polite but a but odd for people ordering off the vegan menu. I'll go back. Nice service and nice to have an upscale choice for vegan dining.
Good cocktail bar. Had Marama Punch, Barrel Aged Negroni and Cranberry Punch. Last one was best, mixed with Blue Buck Pale Ale. Wen for cocktails only, no food, can't comment on food. Great Place and interiors.
Calamari!. Yew has the best calamari I have ever had in my life. I also ordered the vegan tacos and the spinach salad. Everything was amazing and I will definitely be coming back soon!
I went with my family for my dad's birthday (twice). The first time, the food was outstanding. The second, the food was good, but mediocre for the price. We went about 2 years apart so change is to be expected. Nonetheless, if you're looking for something classy, highend, and own a half-million dollar car (sadly more common than one might imagine), I say you'll love it.
Yew. Great space, comfortable and relaxed setting. Outstanding service and perfectly prepared dishes. Highly recommended!
Fantastic food and lovely staff. Highly recommended :) x
Impressed!. My partner and I came here for lunch one weekend. Our server, a down-to-earth kinda guy, was very relatable, had a good sense of humor, didn't linger but came over to check on us, had extensive knowledge of the menu and was a pure delight. I happened to mention how much I love the mini cinnamon donuts, and he brought me over a take out container with more of the donuts! It's was such a nice gesture!
I had the burger- it was delicious! My partner had the fried chicken which was small in comparison to my burger, however, the flavor was great!
Having worked in restaurants for over 5 years between the both of us, we were so impressed and continue to tell our friends about not only the restaurant, but our friendly waiter.
Service at Yew was great. it's a pricey restaurant and so you get what you paid for.
We went there on sunday for brunch and they have a great deal there. 3 course brunch for 29 dollars, plus bottles of wine is 50% off all day. It's a great way for girls outing. There was always someone there to take away our dishes or fill our water glass at the right moment (thank you!). food was amazing and prices are not bad for such a place.
will go back there again for sure! Now, if they only have happy hour specials like Joe fortes!
YEW won't be disappointed. Decadent food + decadent surroundings. the ceviche rocked my ass. my fave...foie gras.....omggg....TDF....need i say more?! the scallops & bacon dish was equally fab with a nice smokey flavor and spot on golden scallops. and lastly the seafood paella rivals the authentic paella's i've had in malaga, spain. definite winner here. definitely will be back!
We ended up here for two meals during our Vancouver trip, and the service and quality of food are outstanding. Yew by far offers the highest quality of service of any restaurant in Vancouver. And best of all for me, they have a vegan menu. Best of all for my husband, they have incredible seafood options. Make sure you visit this place next time you are in town. And their bartenders are great as well; very unpretentious and helpful.
Lovely space - light and airy. Big room but able to carry on an intimate conversation. We shared the Seafood Tower and a steak. The scallop ceviche was fantastic, as was the mango horseradish. Service was stellar and loved the extra touches. Can't wait to try brunch!

Crab Tacos. I stayed at the Four Seasons Vancouver and it was a delight to have had this restaurant in the same building. For breakfast it is a little pricey for what you get (salmon bagel $19) but I highly recommend it for lunch and dinner.
For lunch I had the delicious and refreshing crab tacos, but the pasta carbonara is also very good and very filling as they use a thicker noodle. The desserts are a home run and I love the homemade pies - beware a sliver is what I would consider a slice (you have the option between sliver, slice, whole pie). The root beer dessert is unlike anything you'd think it would be and needed a bit more root beer flavour but it was very chocolatey and delicious.
The only dessert that I really disliked would be the chocolate mouse which is more like a hardened lava cake.
Great place to hang out for drinks as well or late night munchies with the deep fried pickles and fries.
The service is top notch and we got to know one of the waiters very well, (Norman) he recommended some great restaurants and dishes for us to have. This was refreshing as many establishments have staff say everything is good but they either haven't tried it or are fibbing.
Swell & styley. Love the environs, the love room, love the service. waiters are sporting overly casual gingham shirts. lobster appetizer was tasty but gets a zero for presentation. spot prawns were well presented but while they looked overcooked were mushy and cold. served on gnocchi, a soft cheese, and wilted greens. the oysters were lovely, but when asked the waiter said they were from the BC coast. ha! usually they're a bit more specific... sablefish was really nice. But the paella was delicious - that impressed me. the bread was rich, breakfasty little scones. had a lovely time - i'll be back, but it's best to know what to order.
Polite Hostesses & Waiters. First time staying at four seasons, decided to check out YEW Restaurant. Ordered the Mac&cheese.. Waiter very polite, I mentioned I really liked grilled cheese, and wished they had it. He made sure to offer making one as a side to my dish. very impressive.
The hotess girls were very nice and we even striked up a bit of a conversation. If I didn't order room service so much this trip, I would have loved to go back down and order, just for the sake of being around friendly people in the city and the wonderful, striking atmosphere
You must have the Lobster Cobb. This is the best Cobb salad there is.
Wound up having the whole lobster Cobb salad which was fresh and wonderful, but the $29 brunch options (one appy, one main, and a small dessert) looked good on paper. Will try this next week!

Amazing Seafood!. I really appreciate the special service from our server, David He knew exactly what I would like. There was not too much or too little food ordered and that is a sign of a seasoned professional.
Now onto the food, I tried the Crab Taco again and this time it was not salty. The taco is actually wonton wrap deep-fried and shaped like tacos. The sweetness and the freshness came through with the hint of the chili powder in the guacamole sauce. That powder has a kick!
Next we had the raw ahi tuna and the sauce really elevated the dish. We ordered the scallops minus the prosciutto with the Marcona Almonds. I could of eaten the almonds alone so sweet with the fresh scallop. What an awesome pairing of fresh ingredients.
But I have to applaud Chef Bell and his kitchen staff. The sablefish was the best I have ever had. I loved the sablefish on the last menu but this had the perfect blend of not too sweet or too salty or too bland.
The vegetables were cooked perfectly and the whole dish sung with Chinese flavours. We got all our antioxidants from the gai-lain, not bitter, the plump snow peas and the crispy bak choy. My father is a great chef with Cantonese- Chinese cooking so to say I know Chinese food is an understatement as we were dragged to a lot of Chinese restaurants "through the back door" as they say. If I was blindfolded, I would have guessed the food was cooked by Chinese chef ! The dish was cooked the way they do in high end Chinese restaurants! My dinner companion loves lobster, so they put a big morsel on the top of the sablefish. We didn't go for the Seafood Platter as it was too much and we wanted to try the different offerings on the new menu.
I loved it all but the winner was Winning Clam Chowder. The smoked cod was such a pleasant surprise. It had depth that you just can't get from bacon. And the apples, which sounds strange at first, balanced out the any saltiness from the smoked cod. The beer gave it body without interfering with the taste at all. Just beautiful and my dining companion agreed as he never gets to try chowder as he can't eat pork! So this was perfection in a bowl.
The chocolate tart from the Valentine's menu won my heart with the small but flavourful strawberry home-made marshmellow. And the champagne shooters with the coconut milk" bubbles" that burst in your mouth.
I will also have to come back to try the pie, I love that you can get just a sliver for $5.00. Genius, as by the end of most meals, that's all you need is a touch of sweetness!
I can't wait to bring my parents, especially my dad to try the Sablefish!
Great Brunch. Simply put--the best brunch in town. The atmosphere is beautiful, service is great and the $27 three course brunch is the best value in town and scrumptious.
Had brunch there and went for the $27 3 course deal. Great service and atmosphere. Had the seafood chowder which I found tasty and with a generous portion of seafood. Just the right amount, neither too much nor too little. Then for main I had the BC ling cod fish and chips. The fish was moist and cooked perfectly and I loved the crunch of the batter. The fries were seasoned just right. For dessert was the tapa trio which was very unique and loved the different textures. A must try. Will definitely come back.
Great appetizer. Try the bison meatballs with blue cheese -and ask more of the complimentary bread! So good!
Great Hamburger at the bar. I had what must be the best bacon, cheese burger I've eaten in Vancouver. Don't tell the authorities, but I requested and received the burger cooked to a perfect medium rare.
Brunch at Yew is hands down one of the best values in town. Not entirely cheap on the face of it but amazing for what you get. There are plenty of other places in this price range, but not with the quality and high level of service (it is in the Four Seasons, after all) that Yew has. On top of which the room is lovely and they are seriously generous with the crab. We will go back.
Oysters on the 1/2 shell. yummy fresh!. I took my Mum for brunch on Sat. It was quite busy so I am happy I made reservations. The atmosphere was really nice, everyone seemed relaxed but pro. The service was excellent, and the food was fresh & local. I started with the oysters on the half shell, amazing! I am an oyster fan, and let me tell you!!! Also had the fritatta, and my Mum had the corned beef hash, talk about a varied menu. The Shrimp Caesar was made specific to my liking which I am critical of because I'm a bartender also. I plan to go back for Foxy Fridays, for the ambience, the oysters, and the bevvies!
Fantastic ambiance and service.. Food is for tasting. Expect to still be hungry several hundreds of dollars later. Not necessarily a bad thing, but definitely the reality.
Absolutely spectacular! The food was beyond fantastic. You must get the 'cold plates' - try all of them - off the raw menu. Amazing. Our server, Hamid was stellar. Knowledgable, friendly, and fast. A perfect evening!
Top notch. Incredible decor and interior, as well as a lively atmosphere. Has an incredible Wine Room with a dinner table for 10 in the middle. Very good breakfast menu and service. a $70 breakfast for 2 though so it aint cheap, looks like an incredible place to have dinner
