My husband and I kept seeing this restaurant all over Vancouver so we figured we should try out what this chain restaurant has to offer. The website touts itself as having “Modern Canadian Cuisine.” I didn’t recognize anything immediately as “Canadian.” It seems to have a variety of fusion food from many cultures, which is something we do like. We managed to stop by for Happy Hour on our last day.
As soon as the host took care of the difficult party ahead of us, we were seated quickly outdoors with a nice view of English Bay. We waited a bit before a server came to help us and bring table settings. Service was good overall, but not exceptional in our opinion.
We enjoyed our drinks and food. Although not traditional, the Prawn Crunch Roll tasted delicious with sesame soy paper. We enjoyed these small savory bites that had a small kick to it. My husband enjoyed his Mini Crispy Sandwich Duo. The Truffle Fries were perfect the way we like it - crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and packed with flavor. The garlic aioli was a great dipping sauce. We would return for the ambiance and drinks/food!
Sat on the patio, wait time for three was about 30 minutes around 6 o’clock. My mum asked for salmon with the rain forest greens bowl but got chicken instead… we had to wait for another 15 minutes for the revised plate to arrive, which was an inconvenience as the rest of us had already received our food. But other than that, the food was delicious and a lovely view of the water and sunset!
We came here on a whim on a cloudy day and were lucky to have gotten a seat right away since this place is always pretty packed! We tried the holiday tasting menu and loved the overall experience, food quality and service. The restaurant is located in a prime location with a beautiful view of the bay; a must go!
