Hello dear friends,
My experience at Zaffran indian cuisine was enjoyable for my tastebuds but harmful to my identity as a human person. Tonight was the night it was confirmed that I have a hateable face.
Although the exceptionally great groupon deal offered my 5 friends a wonderful experience, I myself felt as though I was invisible.
After graciously accomadating my friends with food allergies, I was denied substituting extra Naan bread for rice. At first, I overlooked this small insult. The harsh "no" I heard will forever resonate with me. I was reassured the order of Naan my friend didn't want would be put on my plate.
Upon the arrival of appetizers, mine arrived last. Then, when the meals came the waiter proceeded to deliver my plate to my friend, who already had a meal, as I sat there dreaming of Naan bread. Furthermore, the extra Naan I was promised was given to someone else at the table.
Upon fixing this "mishap", the waiter then told the table they can order seconds of whatever they like on their plate. Leaving me with only one question... why the hell couldn't you give me my substitution Naan?
Overall, the foods great and if you want to feel like you don't exist amungnst a group of good friends, this is the place to go.
Lovely food, Lovely people. Thumbs off!!! Mix platter was awesome and Lamb Vindaloo was the best i ever had in so many years. The restaurant was packed on Saturday evening as expected but we sat in the patio and enjoyed their house Zaffran Red wine which went pretty well with Indian food flavors.
This place is a must visit if you are in Victoria. Went to this place a couple times while I was in Victoria and enjoyed the food every time and the servers were friendly. Awsome food and great service!!. Food was too good and restaurant atmosphere was extremely satisfying. One of the best Indian food in Victoria. One must go and experience it, staff & service was too good, really enjoyed and will surely visit again...:)
Dont know what the chef did with the Prawns but they were out of the world. I like the option of making our own meat with the choice of Curries and yes the spice meter was just perfect. Will try their "Suicidal" some day. Zaffran gets my "5 stars" for sure
Friends recommended this place to us for the good food. Couldn't have been more satisfied. I picked a random item, the Dhaba Murg, from the menu. Delicious. Highly recommend to all.
Lets get real. Indian restaurants in Victoria lacked Service standards. Now Zaffran is the place which has re-defined the service standards. Such friendly staff, out of the world food and great collection of Indian hand made stuff. I was even given a small soup complimentary for the company of my wife who ordered one. Isnt that amazing?

I have gone to all the Indian restaurants in the town and Zaffran is undoubtedly the BEST SO FAR. Food is just so mouth watering, you couldnt ask for more. I was impressed by their heat options of mild, medium, hot and suicidal :)

Wow! The best indian food I ever had. This was so freaking delicious and the waitress was really sweet she gave us advices about the town... My boyfriend and I are vegan and we had no worries about the meals because actually, there's a lot of vegan options. We took the zaffran fries (omg!) , the samosas, basmati rice, the potatoes and caulifowers meal and eggplants. Everything was excellent !!! You should go there
Delicious food, polite servers, and great presentation. I ordered the spinach and chickpeas. I have never had this dish cooked so well anywhere else in my life. Great place!
Great food and very friendly staff. I was there for a week with family and went to this restaurant a few times, and loved it every time. For all meat lovers, Tandoori platter is a must try :)
Great tasting Indian food with good-sized portions, unlike some of the other Indian restaurants in town. Fair prices. I particularly like the Chicken Tikka Masala and the Prawn Chetinad.
Loved this place. Great food and the staff are very helpful in pairings. Prices are reasonable and food is delicious. Highly reccomend if you are downtown Victoria.

Best experience ever. A must go for all the tourists and residents. Should feature in the sight see no places of Victoria.
