Review Boondocks Restaurant - Vancouver Island

We had the roast beef dinner. Beef was done perfectly and was very tender. Great food and great service.

Great little pub. Due to my career I’ve been to a large amount of pubs and craft breweries all over Canada so I’d like to think my opinion is pretty decent! Moved to Sidney 3 years ago, and while there may be higher end places in town, that I also love and frequent, Boondocks is always my go to. It’s got a comfortable decor inside, very very friendly staff, easy going customers, and really enjoyable food. I’ve eaten wings at every place in the local area and theirs are amongst the best. Give it a try.

Absolutely wonderful experience. Atmosphere is great. Service staff are super attentive and friendly. Food was AMAZING. Honestly recommend the taco bowl!

We were on the banquet room side watching the band The Distractions play. A good fun night, not overly busy. The food was very tasty, with the menu offering a variety of all sorts of dishes...pub style! Their garlic fries were excellent..we will be back!

We stopped here on our way to the ferry back to twassen, We were hungry tired and just wanted to quit bite to eat. Being from out of town we hoped that the food was good and to our surprise we had the best chicken wings and pizza we've ever had! If I'm ever in Vancouver again I will be making a point to stop here for chicken wings, It's worth the ferry ride over.

We went last night with a large group of people. Everyone ordered drinks and meals and I have to say, everyone was very pleased with everything. The service was fantastic. Food came out in good time and was delicious. We were still talking today about how much we enjoyed it. We will definately come back.

We LOVE Boondocks! Last Saturday evening, greeted like family (we have been a few times but we are not regulars) The food is down to earth as is the atmosphere, nothing pretentious just honest to goodness grub, relaxed setting and friendly staff. It was our server (Teah?)'s FIRST shift and whilst it was evident that she has previous experience in hospitality, she took this to a whole new level. The kitchen was VERY busy as they had a large party in the function suite but we were warned there would be a delay and our food came exactly when we were told it would. Teah had everything under control with such an easy going manner that we were quite happy just waiting. She checked all her tables frequently during that time and made sure drinks etc were supplied quickly. The locals menu is VERY good value for money and the roast dinner is one of my favourites. Andy and Wendy welcome you with open arms...best live entertainment in Sidney!!! The live band had the dance floor jumping... Our server was amazing...quick service friendly and great food...large banquet room for any event...weddings, birthdays, anniversaries...you name it and they will accommodate your request...definitely family friendly and a for sure a returning customer in me!!!

We ordered in tonight - chicken parm, fish with yam fries, lemon pepper and honey garlic wings. Delivery was really quick and friendly, every item was delicious and the bill was totally reasonable. Couldn’t have asked for more!

We're locals to Sidney and this restaurant has been a lovely staple in town. They have live music, outdoor seating and great food and drinks! It's a great little spot to bring the whole family to (our nephews LOVE the hot wings).

I am a local and have frequented Boondock's over the last 10 years. Staff retention is fantastic. I see the same faces all of the time. I don't have to tell the wait staff what I want unless I want something different. The new owner is a great guy. The food is outstanding. The prices are in line with other places in the area (not cheap and not outrageous). Good ambience and they've added entertainment as well as a trivia night. They are really kicking it up a notch with their daily specials. If you are a local, or visiting Sidney, I highly recommend trying this local pub.

We have been to Boondocks twice recently. We were there a numbers of weeks ago and it was awesome. Now, with current restrictions I had heard they were doing take-out and we stopped in on Friday evening to see if there were open. There are, and doing take out and delivery. I met the Owner, Andy and we had a great chat. Our food was just as good as if we had sat down in the restaurant...it was hot, well packaged, great portions and decent pricing. All in all it was as if they were still open. Very highly recommend this place.

Was there for a banquet. Food was excellent. The owners were present working along side with the staff. They have live jazz music in the evenings. Great place. Definitely coming back.

Hello everyone. If you ever find yourself in Sidney here on Vancouver island do yourself a favour a stop in to say hi to the excellent staff at Boondocks B&G. This is a fantastic local pub that has some killer grub and a live venue you won’t soon forget. I know the chef personally and he’s always around making sure that only the best comes to your table. The owner is a great guy with a real down to earth welcome to my pub/ home kind of attitude. He’s always making sure that everything and everyone is well takin care of. Not to mention the live entertainment he’s bringing in house. A very long over due venue needed here in this fantastic little town by the sea. So if you’re looking for a great meal or a 6 nights a week venue of great music and dancing, along with great service get your crew over to Boondocks. Tell them Dino sent you 👌🏼 Cheers.

We go once or twice every week. They have added Trivia Night on Wednesday nights. How fun! The food is great, the service is beyond outstanding and it was fun playing trivia. Kind of brought everyone together. New owner is doing a fantastic job. Have even seen him out working the tables on busy nights. Highly recommended. Would give it ten stars if I could.

My brother & I ate dinner and breakfast there several weeks ago. The dinner was very fresh mussels, poutine, nachos, garlic bread, & great beer, and it was excellent. Really nice & comfortable place, and our server Tania entertained us with attention and stories. Our server at our excellent breakfast was the owner/manager, and she was great, too.
