Good place for some smoked food. I had the pulled pork sandwich with fries. The pork was juicy; the sauce may have been a tad too sweet even though I got the spicy. It was not spicy at all. Overall it was very good though because of the brioche bun. It was toasted yet soft. The surprising items were the fries. They were awesome. Very crispy. Seasoned properly.
The lady behind the counter was also friendly and nice. Enjoyed my experience here.

This is a good compromise between a sandwich joint and BBQ joint, because the meat is prioritized.
Had the brisket sandwich and it was juicy and tender with the right fatty content. I also appreciate the choice of an egg-washed bun, which held together the prodigious amount of meat quite well.
It was busy when I entered, and I appreciated when the server told me they piled a little extra on to make up for it ;)
Not sure I liked the choice of sauce. It tasted a little too much like the Dijon-seeming coleslaw dressing.
Will definitely come back a few times to try everything.

This was an absolutely delicious BBQ place! They have really large portions, including an entire bowl of fries. Their brisket sandwich was massive, my wife had to eat half of it in the restaurant and the other half later. The owner was very kind and accommodating, getting us everything we needed including an extra plate for my son to share with us. She also did all this with no complaining despite the fact that we came in like 15 minutes before she was scheduled to close. She acted as if we were there in the middle of the day, and were her most important customers. I was very impressed. And the food was excellent! Exceptionally well done, all the BBQ'd meats were incredible! I would have thought you could find this BBQ somewhere in the south of the US, where BBQ is the way of life. It was that good. I had the pulled pork sandwich, my wife had the brisket sandwich, and my dad had the pork and chicken sliders. (two of them were about the size of my entire sandwich) The mac and cheese was excellent, my son loved it! And the fries were just delicious! If you're in the area (or even if you're not), I definitely recommend going here!

Took my uncle for lunch here, and the food was awesome. A very cute, casual little neighborhood BBQ joint with homemade, delicious food. I had the pulled pork slider, my uncle the pulled pork sandwich. They both came with homemade coleslaw. The sandwich and slider had a lot of tasty, juicy pork. We also had a side of french fries that were to die for. Service very efficient and very friendly. Love the space. It is small, but very clean and comfy. We will definitely be back as we want to try the sweet potato fries which were out of season and definitely have to go back for the brisket chili fries. Try it. You will not be disappointed.

Had to drop it to 4 stars because my chicken sandwich seemed smaller the second time. Still packed with chicken but I'm pretty sure they're using smaller buns now.
I only really eat chicken and their pulled chicken sandwich is awesome! Plus the fries are really good, crispy and seasoned well. Sandwich is packed with meat. Friend really enjoyed the ribs.

Small, cute little restaurant with delicious BBQ meats! I had the beef brisket sandwich with the mac & cheese as a side while my husband and FIL split a rack of ribs. Both of them were full with a half rack each, and I was more than full with my sandwich and side (halfway through the sandwich I abandoned the bread for the meat). Flavours were on point and the meat was fall apart soft. Service was pleasant and polite, and the place is well kept. There is very little in the way of seating so if you have a group larger than 3-4 I would call ahead. Definitely would return!

Mmmmm... Son had the brisket sandwich (bread separate) and there was enough brisket to take home for dinner ("Yes, sonny, it's steak"), Better-half had the pulled pork on egg bread burger bun with slaw, and brisket sandwich with horseradish mayo, fired onions and purple cabbage cole slaw for me. Added bonus was a chance to sample something not yet on the menu: deep-fried minced brisket varenyky with paprika rub. Bon apetit! (Park on Rothsay, one west of Islington, southside).

We had Appalachia cater our wedding dinner. Everything from the tasting, the order, payment and pickup went super smooth. Our guests raved about the BBQ and requested the restaurant details. People loved it so much that I have been asked to bring their BBQ sauce to family gatherings coming up. The fan favourites were the wings, pulled pork and brisket.

I don’t normally feel the need to review food, especially bbq, but this was so delicious (and local!) that I felt the need to. We went for a late lunch today and had ribs (usually only ready after 5pm but they were ready a little early), pulled pork sandwich, fries and baked beans. Um, ya - so so good. We just ate the leftovers for dinner and it was still so good. Service was great, as well. Highly recommend it if you're in the 'hood.

All I could say was Nom, Nom, Nom the whole time! I had the pulled chicken sliders; delicious sauce! The sweet potatoe fries were so mini and waffle cut-impressive. Great attention to detail in the taste and quality of the food. Will be back for sure.

Was so excited to see that a BBQ place just opened up around my block, in Mimico. My mums coming to visit tomorrow and I told her we have to try it out.
