I had to do some errands on keele st and while driving by Nino D'aversa bakery i decided to drop in and get some gelato and a few things. I used to go there a lot when i was a kid. My best friends dad would round up all of us kids and take us for gelato. For some reason it doesn't taste as good as it did when I was a kid but I am happy the place is still there and it brings back lots of summer memories.
Very good pizza place with good and fast service. The staff is friendly and helpfull. Nice selection of pastries too. Open late til 23h. Will go back for sure.
Its ok... but bad customer service.... First off, i'd like to say that their display of desserts was impressive, except there was no price tag or names of the desserts on display.
Second, the persons behind the counter were rude. We inquired about the pricing and the man told us if we got takeout we cannot eat on the patio. I explained to him I'm getting quite a bit of desserts and I won't finish it all and either way I wanted it in a box. He said he was going to stand there and watch to make sure I don't eat any. Not cool!
There is barely anyone on the patio on Sunday evening. I am with 5 other people all purchasing gelato, desserts and drinks, and he is denying that I eat my dessert on the patio. What a shame...
My food review... Gelato was pretty good, lobster tails were good, the rest of the desserts I got were ok, and the customer service sucked!
Cannoli mmmmmm. Love their Cannoli, both Canoli Siciliani (ricotta cheese) and Cannoli Sfoglia (chocolate or vanilla custard)!
I dropped by to pick up a box of pastries for a baby shower. Fresh fruit tarts and bumble berry cake. This place is not your ordinary bakery shop. It's big, the bakery is on one side and restaurant on the other. All fresh hot meals reasonably priced including the mouth watering pastries-cakes, canolies, tarts etc. Very clean and inviting.
