Review Junked Food Co. - Toronto

Laura
Had the birthday cake cookie dough and the cookie donut. The cookie dough is good but tastes a bit more like flour then creamy. It's still good but maybe share one as I got a sugar rush/ stomach ache half way through. It's a fun treat to try but not something to have often. The cookie donut was ok. It was drapped in peanut butter, so if your not crazy about peanut butter maybe it's not for you. The cookie on the bottom was good but the donut was a bit dry. There are many other savoury options too. It's just like eating at the CNE.

Macaroni and cheese is my favourite dish in the whole world, so when I had it with fries it was still delicious!! It was empty when I went but everyone was very friendly. I think the portion size is really large for the price too. Very filling and good for sharing!

Taste: 4 Service: N/A Value: 2 Presentation: 5 Overall: 3.7 rounded up to 4 Hi and welcome to another episode of javing it with Javier. Let's see what we are javing today. Today, I will be reviewing the meat monster deep dish pizza and the tacho smash bag. My girlfriend told me this place serves better deep dish than the one in Chicago but that seems pretty hard to beat because I really enjoyed Chicago deep dish. Anyway, let's dive right into the review. We were given the taco smash bag first because the deep dish pizza takes approx 20 min to prepare. Tater tots were sprinkled on top of a layer of cheese, lettuce and tomatoes, with a final layer of Doritos underneath. It was jam packed with flavour while the crunchiness of the Doritos underneath complemented it very well. Although it tasted quite good, the bag wasn't very big and would make a good appetizer as opposed to an entree. Then the deep dish came. The crust was nicely cut and pepperoni on top was slightly crisped. I was a huge fan of the slices being pre-cut into equal sizes unlike some pizza places *cough cough pizza pizza*. As I pulled the first piece out, the strings of cheese stayed attached to the pizza. The crust was very crispy and while I really enjoyed the cheese and pepperoni, I felt like the pulled pork didn't fit well with the pizza. Note that this is a self serve place. So the service rating is as good as how you're willing to serve yourself ;) (my girlfriend said I was an average server so she would have given me a 3, I beg to differ but I may be slightly biased). I have therefore decided that a service rating was N/A. I feel like the smash bag was too small to warrant $8. The pizza on the other hand looks pretty small, but shouldn't be underestimated. The pizza is very filling for its size. For $13 it is slightly overpriced but will be more than enough to fill one person up. Overall I really enjoyed my meal here. Is the deep dish better than Chicago's? No, I can't say that, but it was still very good overall. And that's it for today's episode of javing it with Javier. And remember food is life.

Came in and had the plain Mac and Cheese and was blown away on how delicious it was. I would definitely come back to try the other items on the menu, gotta grab a cookie dough scoop before I go though!

Had the Flaming Cheetos mac n cheese spring rolls. Super yummy, filled with jalepenos and served with a side of sriracha mayo. Very filling for two people... especially if you wanna save room for dessert.

I have only done Uber eats here and really liked it! I am not sure why people complain about the sweetness of the cookie dough isn't that expected? I loved the deep dish pizza and the poutine. It is a bit pricey but worth it for a treat now and then. Should check it out if you have time!

Deep dish pizza need I say more. Not true Chicago style but their Mac and cheese deep dish was so satisfying

Was disappointed to find out the doughnuts advertised online were not available. Menu was quite small and the actual store front was cold and uncomfortable to sit in. But the waffle was delicious

Great for soft serve ice cream! Was fun to watch how she made it

For a place that offers weird food combinations, their prices were great and the flavour was awesome. I had the ice cream with a scoop of cookie dough and you get great flavor. There isn't too much sitting space but might be enough off busy hours. Was very clean overall and there is a washroom available for customers.

Scrumptious! I haven't had a chance to visit the new location but was able to visit a few times at their old spot or grab quick bites at events they were at. Highly recommended to many friends and family. The smash bags are my favourite. Quick to order, easy to mange if you're taking it to go and absolutely delicious. They have some crazy creations but if you're looking to indulge then this is the place you need to check out.

I LOVE this place!! The guys who opened this joint are geniuses and work so hard to make their customers happy! I have not been able to visit the new location yet but I am so excited to see it! Every time I walk in the door, it takes me 20 minutes to just decide what I am going to order! The smash bags and deep dish pizza are just two of my top favorites! This is a must go to place in Toronto!

AMAZING. Ate the deep dish pizza and cookie dough cup, which were both made fast and well. As we were the only customers in the joint, the chef asked us to taste test a new dessert he was working on, which was just as delicious. Come here if you're craving some over the top carnival foods, they won't disappoint

I was so geeked to try this place for the first time today...brought 5 people with me as it was my birthday. We all agreed that it was mediocre. We ordered the mac n cheese, pizza and chicken & waffles. We ended up ordering cookie dough because they don't have ice cream. There are spots in the city that do similar food much better. The server also wasn't able to muster a smile at all. It was OK...but I am not running to go back.

A unique, rich, and gluttonous heaven! I can't even tell you how many years I've gone to The Ex JUST for the crazy food creations - now I don't have to wait until August or pay to get in! Everything I've ordered has been awesome and people I've taken have all agreed that this is the place to indulge. I've been to the old location loads of times and visited the new one a few already too - the new spot is set up way better and they even have placemats and these lightbox things to use for posting photos. If you're lookin for fine dining this isn't the spot, but if you want some creative and tasty grub on your cheat day, then I recommend checkin them out.

I just ordered the "meat monster deep dish" and WOW! Authentic chicago taste, they pre-cut the pizza, and each slice is packed with meat and cheese, the crust was super tasty and thick, definitely recommend this place and a great toronto/chicago experience!

Took my niece... $30 for a poutine, a mac n cheese, two drinks, and two cookie dough scoops. The poutine was good, the mac n cheese was awful. We threw out almost the entire thing. The pasta was not fully cooked and the sauce was gross. Honestly KD tastes better. The cookie dough was fun, but we didn't finish either scoop. It was just meh. This place has a great concept and fun atmosphere but the quality will need some serious improvement for those prices.

The food was amazing! I got the mac & cheese poutine it was so good was the portion was big for under $10. I got the cookie dough as well and it was delicious! For those who complain about the "grainy" texture of the cookie dough i don't think they understand that it's not ice cream it's supposed to be that texture.

Ordered through Ritual, showed up 5 mins past the "food ready" time, order wasn't ready. Finally got someone to show up and the made my chicken-and-waffles sandwich with the oh-so-clever name ready in 2 mins - which isn't a great sign because the most important thing for a chicken-and-waffles dish is for those two things to be fresh. Both were stale and not very flavourful and upset my stomach. Would not order from this place again.

We decided to go and check out the deep dish pizza, the pizzas were great. I have to say they are on par with Chicago deep dish!!! doesn't hurt that they guys are very easy on the eyes also ! We will go back and try the whole menu one item at a time

The birthday cake and cookies and cream cookie dough cups are amazing! They may appear small but they're filling. Definitely worth the trip! The place was full when I was there and the wait time was very short.

$27.00 for a tiny portion of fries and a tiny pizza, and they can't even get my order right. I ordered a vegetarian pizza. It was over priced and it took way too long to make in the first place. And of course they deny all responsibility for the screw up.

The MAC N Cheese ZA was the best damn pizza I've ever had! Cheesy goodness in every bite. I wish there was a store in Mississauga.
Leo Khan
Great place and the food is amazing! I had the plain Mac and Cheese which was stellar and a scoop of the birthday cookie dough which was sooo good. 10 out of 10 would go again!
Natasha Tsapoitis-Kandil
Not worth the hype. It was not good. My gf and I ended up getting the cookie dough scoop and it didn't taste like anything except granulated sugar. Insta photos look way better than it actually is.

Super fun environment and friendly staff! Best creative selection around. Definitely worth the travel to try it out Thanks Brian; you have done amazing for yourself!

Loved it and can't wait to go back! That pumpkin spice golden oreo cookie dough fulfilled my basic needs for the fall. The Easy Caprese belgian waffle sandwich has me wondering if i can ever eat a sandwich on regular bread again.

From Management to execution, this place is a total joke. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere, there are many awesome food places out there. Maybe grow a pair guys and I will change my review.

Since I moved from Vancouver this last year I have been wanting to try this place. I was so disappointed!!!I asked the cashier what was the most ordered item so I order the pull pork waffle sandwich the meat was dry and not tasty a least bit had barely any cheese and the waffle also dry. I took two bites and threw it out and left disappointed and hungry. What a waste of $10.00.

Great place for new and crazy mixtures of food! Great concept hope they expand!

Delicious! Do glad we chose this as one of our food stops while in Toronto. The pulled pork poutine is amazing and the Reese lightning cookie dough is delightful. We will be back to try more! Great atmosphere and awesome staff!!
