Been coming here for years. Once the staff gets to know you service improved. Tip well if you want to recieve a smile.
Raw beef pho = lots of meat and tasty broth.
Deep fried spring rolls are delicious
I love curry soup and this place nailed it. The Vietnamese spring rolls are delish too. I love that it's open late & has friendly staff. 5 stars easy.
This is the my second time visit here.. we orderd barbeque pork ribs, thai prawn rice, tom yum gong, fried chicken wings, chicken hot pot. All foods are goos and the fried rice is a must have one. Over all good restaurant with a decent price n ambience and best part is this place is open till 12 a.m.
I always forget to take a picture before munching down because I get so hungry when it comes to Pho, heehee. I really like the Pho here from Vietnam Noodle Star… just something about it that hits the spot. Whenever I come back from vacation, I would visit here for some comfort pho, heehee. There’s different variations of Pho as many other restaurants have but I usually go for the House Special – it contains meatball, tripe, tendon, rare beef and flank beef! Topped off with green onions and onions.
I had dinner at VNS last night. I ordered the Beef Brisket in a Malaysian Curry sauce ($8). My meal came with a side of one roti. The meat was tasty and tender! The potatoes were a bit undercooked but no big deal. The curry was delicious and I mopped up every last bit of it with my roti. I was very pleased with my choice.
Throughout the years that I’ve been here, they’ve definitely upgraded quite a bit. They’ve changed the look of the menus, as well as expanded the store to fit more customers. Vietnam Noodle Star is a mix of Vietnamese and Chinese food. I usually get the Pho/”House Special” here cause I really enjoy it – I do know some people who don’t because it’s not authentic, or it’s not the “right” type of noodle, etc. From time to time, I do eat their “Penang Laksa” or “Seafood Laksa” {pictured}, heehee. They also have condiments on the side of each table consisting of squid sauce, hoi sin sauce, lat jiu yao or hot chili oil and sriracha sauce. Personally, I loveloveloveee lat jiu yao – probably a +1 for this place in my books, as most Pho places I go to don’t have it. They usually have sriracha, and I don’t like that as much…
Always consistent with their food. Service can be a bit hectic when they are busy, but it is expected.
Pho. That's the name of the game. Order that you can't go wrong. When you order rare beef, you get rare beef. I'm surprised that many places don't do that. Broth is hot and tasty. The vermicelli is decent, as are the rice dishes. Stick with the pho for the best experience.
This place is AMAZING! I've eaten lots of Pho elsewhere in the city and not one place has come close to Noodle star. I always order the laksa soup (curry/coconut broth) and it never disappoints. I've also had their grilled meats which are super delicious too. This place is fast, cheap and the staff there are nice too (and they know me by now because I'm a regular lol) Go to this place!! You will not be disappointed!
One of my favourite places for pho. This place beats out other vietnamese places in the area. I started coming here more often after their renovation and it has quickly become one of my go-to places for good pho. The broth is tasty, the food is fresh, the place looks clean, and it is always bustling. Their grilled meat vermicelli dishes are very good as well. The sausage in their pineapple fried rice is mere hotdog wieners but it is served in a halved pineapple bowl and tastes great. Portions are well sized and there is a lot of variety. I like their dessert and drink options, not too many vietnamese places offer dessert like mango on coconut sticky rice. A touch more "expensive" (like a dollar more) than other pho places in the area but I would rather pay more for the quality, variety and the cleanliness.
Best soup ever!. As someone who visits many Asian resturants, I have never experience better vietnamese noodles and soup! The best Pho soup I've tasted in my life. Been visiting this place since opening till now! This is my favourate place to get Pho, will visit here in future generations!
Been going here for years. Always get the rare beef and a side of deep fried spring rolls to share. Wouldn't eat it every day because of the rich broth (it's really greasy but so tasty) but once in a while is definitely a must. They renovated almost a year ago or so and it's much bigger and cleaner, I think.
Good pho! I enjoyed the beef and tendons very much. The prices are okay, can find cheaper pho somewhere else i am sure. But food quality for pho is a-ok to me. I've also tried their chicken wings and rice which were not that bad, but not great either. Generally I'd only go here for the pho.
Without a doubt, this restaurant is my go-to place for delicious pho. I’ve gone to other restaurants that serve the same rice noodle in soup with beef, but they all never match up to what Vietnam Noodle Star can bring.
Best pho place in Scarborough. It's not authentic though - it's probably a bastardized Cantonese version of pho, in fact. However - it is delicious and satisfying so much so that, despite the price increase, people keep coming back and it is packed to the brims come 7:30 on a Saturday night (be warned!). My favourite - the well done beef pho in tomato soup. Do note that the option to add tomato broth in your soup is an off-the-menu item - it's the tomato broth from the tomato beef brisket option, but sans brisket.
