I have not tried anything else but the Doubles they offer here, and they are truly amazing and a great snack. I get em extra spicy and its great! The prices are pretty affordable and I have seen various other types of Trini food offered there such as roti with beef chicken etc. just never got around to try it though, maybe next time. But you will not be disappointed if you cant handle spicy food ask for mild

ACR serves up traditional Trinidadian snack food. The aptly named takeout joint has a menu dominated by roti and doubles (although sharp eyes will spot a myriad of other Trinidadian delicacies through the glass window).

My plain chicken roti was average, the flavour and taste not particularly better than those found at other Caribbean establishments in the city (keep in mind I had a chicken roti and not a chicken curry with roti on the side).

What stood out though were the amazing doubles. For those not familiar with doubles; they are an open faced sandwich that feature curried chick peas nestled in fried flatbread. Don't let my mundane description fool you, the doubles here pack a punch of flavour. Those who enjoy spicy foods should make sure to get there's "with peppers", as the fiery heat adds another layer to the bouquet of turmeric, cumin and curry powder.

Not to mention that they are cheap to boot. At a couple bucks each your wallet will thank you as you inevitably buy 2 to 3 or even 4 to satisfy your new found addiction to this Trinidadian street food (although for those looking to get some work done after lunch I think two is the sweet spot).

Consider them your new go to place for a double double.
