The food is great and the service is fast. Parking is easy, and they service both dine in and take out.
My favorite dishes includes:
Pineapple Fried Rice
Curry Beef Rice (their roti is fresh and excellent too)
Skewers, especially the chicken.
Their cooking will remind you of a good homely meal.
They are a small family restaurant, however, so they will have a hard time accommodating a large group. But for a small gathering of 3-4 people to chat and have some good food, they are the ideal place.
I had lunch at SA Malaysian Cuisine yesterday. My gf and I split the chicken pad thai and stir fried basil beef ($28 after tax and tip). The pad thai was different than what we are used to but we def. enjoyed it! You could easily detect the tamarind which made for a bold flavour. The chicken seemed pulled which was a different approach - def. a highlight to this dish. As for the basil beef, there were some very nice flavours and I believe they used "holy basil" which was a nice touch. We certainly enjoyed some delicious food at this restaurant!
I came here for lunch after early morning dim sum. They have lunch specials around $7.50 to $9.50. Their signature dish is their Curry Beef Brisket or Curry Chicken with rice. You may also order some steamed buns to go with it. I was debating between their Malay Fried Rice or House Special fried vermicelli. I caved in to the vermicelli. It was a thin, light vermicelli with egg, sprouts, shrimp, and bbq pork stir fried. It was tasty but not spicy. My other relatives ordered an Anchovies Fried Rice which was good but mostly from the salty fish versus the overall taste of the fried rice. My uncle ordered their Curry Beef Brisket with rice and I liked that dish the best. You can also order the Curry Beef/Chicken alone for take out at $12/$13 for a bucket. Cook a batch of rice at home and go nuts!
