Came here to check out the place since the last time it was crazy busy.
It was just me and my mom and ordered 4 dishes. The chiu chow dumpling, foie Gras har gow, deep fried taro with pork inside and mushroom and green leaf dumpling.
My fave was the foie Gras haw gow. Pieces were huge and meaty.
Interior is pretty nice too. I'd come back.
The large hall with high ceiling make a very comfortable venue for a big family gathering. The lobster abalones seafood banquet is a good banquet with very reasonable price. Chef made the "Maggie's stir fried lobster" to its perfection to bring out the flavour without adding too much sauce, moisture is locked inside the lobster meat, well done.
Happened upon this restaurant by accident. A pleasant surprise. Not sure why this restaurant isn't rated higher. Went for dim sum Sunday at noon. Very busy place! Not traditional style (with the carts). Everything made to order. HUGE dumplings, fresh, good taste. Good value for price, and if you order before 11 am, all M, L sizes are same price as S.
We were 5 people and the bill came to $71 including tax and tip.
Parking is always a hassle as the restaurant is situated in a very busy plaza - a little patience goes a long way. Decent food and service. The restaurant is large - ideal for weddings or corporate events/ fundraisers.
What stood out was the very spicy crab meat in peppers (I only tried a little bit but was already exclaiming due to the pepper spice), the big sui mai pieces, and the leek pancakes that came as a spring roll version. I’ve never seen that before.

This used to be called the Red Ruby, a very popular and well-known restaurant. In replace is a pretty decent replacement, albeit with a peculiar name.
Regardless the food was up to standard with regard to typical Cantonese and dim sum fare; we had lunch on a Sunday and the place was pretty packed; you don't realize how vast the restaurant is until you step into the main dining area; I can recall the old Red Ruby set-up as having partitions to create event rooms for celebrations (my cousin had her pre-wedding dinner when it was Red Ruby).
I wish I could tell you what I ate, but with most Chinese dishes, I have no idea what the names are; I only identify the dishes visually....Like I had some steamed meat ball looking things, than there was the steamed tripe, egg-tart, as well as some roast duck, and a few other staples of Chinese cuisine.
All in all, I would say in its current incarnation, Casa Deluz is a very decent place to have a somewhat fancy but delicious Cantonese meal; I believe its pretty much the best option within a few kilometer radius of the restaurant itself. :)
