I went to North a few week ago and I had such a great experience that I can’t help but share. I had had Persian food a few times before, but this was an experience at a whole other level. Not only was the food fantastic, but the atmosphere was so unique. I really felt like I was in another country. Most impressive of all was the service. My server, Arsham, was quick, friendly and always made sure we had our drinks and were comfortable. My friends have some allergies and he made sure that the food was prepared in a manner okay for them to eat. Overall, it was an excellent experience and I would recommend North to anyone who wants to eat in a fantastic atmosphere, but at the same time made to feel like home by the kind and professional staff.
The Persian food at Shomal is one of the top in the city. Tried kabab Torsh (sour kabab) and that was awesome. They have plenty of space inside and make fresh bread. I totally recommend this restaurant.
Each type of kabob had a unique and strong flavour. Much different from typical Persian restaurants, in a very good way. Everything was delicious and the environment was quite nice, interior is decorated like the north of Iran. The service could be improved but still excellent.
We were actually aiming for a different restaurant in this plaza for dinner, but apparently that one had closed. I had heard a couple of good things about North, so we decided to give it a try. I was a bit surprised at how big the restaurant was inside. I am guessing that the decor is intended to be reminiscent of a small town in the north of Persia.
SWMBO chose the Chicken Breast Kabab, which was nicely seasoned and cooked all the way through (which is an important criteria for her). I ordered the Beef Koobideh Kabab, which is made from seasoned ground beef. Perhaps a little bit too salty, but tasty nonetheless. Both dishes were more than we needed, so we packed our leftovers to go.
Service was friendly and efficient. We also had a visit from the supervisor before we ordered, asking us let them know if anything needed attention. I like it when management takes time to visit the tables.
We did our engagement dinner at this restaurant and visited them a few times. The facility is not so great as the tables are close to one another which doesn't leave room for privacy much and its congested. The service is good and their food is amazing. I'd recommend to try the Kobideh with Safaron Rice here with cucumber yogurt. I liked their food and the price is reasonable too.
Advice to manager. Hire 3-4 more chefs and waiters so you move your business faster. EVERYTHING here is so slow
the food is delicious though
I like their chicken skewers on rice
but it is expensive
Amazing food, great portions and reasonable prices.. The atmosphere / decore is also very nice. Are there for the first time last night and will be going back sometime soon!
Good. Service is good, all the items on the menu are delightful.Tried almost everything on the menu and I can say 90% of the time I left the restaurant happy
Excellent food, "interesting" decor, service needs work. Next time please don't be tacky by asking me to pay cash to make your night. Really dude?
Good food and consistent quality. Bread is made in-house and brought steaming hot to your table. Amazing. Kabob meat is of high quality and stews are also good. Service? Depends on who you get. Lots of college students and other servers who do not speak English, and are almost rude if you are not Iranian. They seem to be in a rush, even if its not busy.
