We first had to select the broth—original, spicy or half and half. As can be predicted, Hubby got the spicy and DD#2 got the original. Grandma, DD#1 and I got the half and half—to get the best of both worlds. This came in a bowl which was actually separated in two! I want one at home! Anyway, I liked the half and half since as the broth kept cooking, the spicy one just got too spicy. The original broth cooked really well. Over in the front, you will also see all the spices that they include in the broth—including cardamom, chili, goji berries, and others I can’t say or spell.
They bring in the broth and marbled lamb and beef slices. Once the broth started boiling, we added the other items we got from the chillers. They had other meat such as pork and chicken, as well as various seafood (shrimp, mussels, squid, fish), balls, veggies, dumplings, noodles, and more. They had cooked spring rolls, shrimp crackers and many sauces should you wish to use for dipping.
I just loved the original broth. It hit the spot, kept my tummy warm and filled my senses with full flavours. It was quite satisfying. Servers would come once in a while to refill the broth. They had a vending machine for pop and a dispenser for water, soy milk and tea. I wouldn’t recommend the pastries for dessert though. Good thing there were orange slices which was great to cap the meal.
Well, we had a lot of fun and we were stuffed. Service and food was good so we were happy.
I love this place or maybe I just love hotpot. It's all you can eat and have a wide range of meat and veggies to choose from.
Taste way better during the winter season when u want something hot to eat. Might need reservations.
At this Mongolian chain eatery, diners cook their meat and vegetables in broth at the table in their own boiling pot. My wife was craving something different on this day and decided on this restaurant due to the large party size we had. This hot pot restaurant seems to have existed for sometime. There was a Little Sheep hot pot restaurant at Commerce Gate plaza but it no longer exists now.
My first experience at visiting a hot pot restaurant and I thoroughly enjoyed it! Although there weren't a lot options for vegetarian foodies, it was rich in flavours and spices of Asia and was a delight for non-vegetarian eaters!
My friends and I had an amazing dinner. The place was super busy but the staff was very friendly and helpful. I recommend the mild broth which you can always spice up with their wide range of condiments. We were tripping on the exquisite lamb cuts which eventually drove us to a food coma ! It was a brilliant experience for 27 bucks a head
Pretty good value for variety and all you can eat. Soup base is good. Favourite items include: wonton, beef, lamb, thick glass noddle, beef ball, water cress. Hot pot craving satisfied.

Great Experience!. We had come here on a Sunday evening at around 6:15 pm for dinner. When we walked-in, we were the only individuals waiting at the front for a table. We were told that we had to wait for a bit of time as there were other individuals that had made reservations, and the empty tables in the restaurant were waiting for their arrival.
We then noticed that other individuals were coming in after us, wanting to be seated as well. We were then given numbers, which we held onto until we were called. We had to wait at least fifteen minutes before we were given a table. It was quite cold at the front as the door kept swinging open and closed, which made it difficult to sit there and wait.
Once we were finally called, we were given a table with a booth near the station where all of the items were located. As we were waiting, the hostess asked us if we wanted our soup bases to be spicy or non-spicy; we all replied with non-spicy. Therefore, when we arrived at the table, one of the servers hurriedly came over, set the table quickly with dishes, chopsticks, napkins, and glasses, then brought over our non-spicy pots, turning on the elements at the same time.
We thought it was wonderful how we were each given our own element, and our own small pot which was far away enough from our seats, which allowed us to place our plates in front of us and manage the hot pot at the same time. We also enjoyed the unlimited soft-drink station, which came complete with all types of drinks however, minus ice (which would have been enjoyable).
We also loved to see all of the food items (minus the beef and lamb slices, which were brought over on request) in various containers on the wall. This was MUCH faster than having to wait for the server to bring the items that we had ordered, which happens most often in hot pot restaurants. Also, all of the sauces and other condiments were available to make our own mixture on the table in front of the containers with the food items.
I loved being able to get up whenever I chose to get the items that I desired, it made it a more comfortable experience! There were also three containers with small desserts on the opposite end of the buffet station. I didn’t get a chance to try the desserts but they did look delicious, hopefully next time I visit I will get a chance.
In regards to the main food items, I loved the beef and pork balls, along with the fish tofu, the dumplings, and the udon noodles. All of the food items were fresh, with most of them having tongs which were used to place the items in your dish. I found that the containers were stocked frequently, with our dishes being taken from our tables quite often by the various servers. Although it was quite busy, the environment was comfortable, and people seemed to be immensely enjoying their experiences.
Once we had finished our meals, we noticed that it was quite busy at the front therefore, we asked for the bill quickly, which came out to $74.55 for three people (which was $21.99 per person, definitely more than reasonable for AYCE hotpot). We then paid for the bill, and left the restaurant. We were more than impressed with how delicious the items were, along with the set-up of the restaurant, and the quick service of the staff. I would love to come to this restaurant again, or even try one of their other locations!
Excellent Hotpot AYCE place. Clean and prompt service.
Little Fat Sheep, 小肥羊, offers large communal pots and small individual size pots. On weekends for lunch, the AYCE seafood option is priced at $15.99 per person with an additional $2 charge for pots...
I really enjoyed both of the soup base (regular and spicy) and appreciated how I could control the heat from my side. The servers constantly walk around refilling the soup base for you if you run out.
It was the day after the Toronto ice storm and I woke up to no power. Luckily I had lunch plans for hotpot, the perfect meal for the occasion. Driving past downed trees and through intersections without traffic lights, I started to worry about whether or not Little Fat Sheep had been hit by the weather as well. It didn’t help that we arrived before the restaurant opened and sat waiting in the parking lot. All was well though and the lights did turn on.
Little Fat Sheep, 小肥羊, offers large communal pots and small individual size pots. On weekends for lunch, the AYCE seafood option is priced at $15.99 per person with an additional $2 charge for pots equipped with dividers that allow for two soup bases. I had the individual pot this time but I prefer the larger pot as there’s more broth making it easier to cook things. I found my pot filled up quickly with the “long cooking time” items and it was hard to get vegetables in. My favourite hotpot soup base is the Little Fat Sheep spicy one, which is what we always use when we hotpot at home.
Plates of beef and lamb slices are served to each table, everything else is self-serve. The selection of ingredients was more extensive than at Hipot with pretty much everything I could think of to hotpot. There was 6-7 vegetables, two types of rice cakes, two cuts of tripe, a selection of fish balls, 3 kinds of mushrooms, wintermelon, squid, taro, cuttlefish, tofu curd, tofu puffs, fried gluten, slices of pork and chicken, glass noodles, ramen noodles, so many other noodles and the list goes on.
Next to the food, there is a self-serve drinks area with pop, chrysanthemum tea and Chinese plum juice. Little Sheep also has a great sauce station with 12 different options and toppings. I always go for the sesame, chili oil and satay sauce topped with garlic and chopped cilantro. For dessert, they have fried mantou with condensed milk, fruit and some baked goods. Really, I was astonished by their selection. Service was hectic and nothing spectacular. We had to re-order a few things multiple times but we weren’t rushed for our table. I do like the self-serve buffet style but some may shy away from how the raw food is out in the open.
By the time we were leaving, the restaurant was packed with a long queue waiting for tables. I hear that this is a regular occurrence, not just weather related, and especially on weekends.
Little Sheep Mongolian 小肥羊火鍋 is my favourite hotpot place since I love lamb so much. It is clean and the food is fresh. This place is always crowded especially in winter which is perfect hotpot season. You can have the choice between a personal hotpot or a shared pot; choose between a mild or spicy broth and a split pot of both. The service is quick and the staff is prompt with serving meat and refilling broth. Last but not least, I usually order green tea and red bean ice cream as much as I can - it is so goodddd.
