Fantastic food, served with heart-felt intention. Don't let the exterior fool you. What awaits a person inside is golden. (For reference, I had the kalbi and kalguksu; both were spot-on, as was the service,)
As authentic as it gets!. This restaurant has become one of my favorites in Toronto. The food is superb, and the price you pay for the amount of food you get is hard to beat (I can't believe how many side dishes you get!).
I love the dolsot bi bim bop (stone pot rice with mixed toppings), kim chi pan cake, and the pork bone soup, but you can't really go wrong with anything on the menu (I think I almost tried them all...haha). My Korean friends say that the duk bok ki (spicy rice and fish cake) rivals anything they've had in Korea, which in my mind says a lot.
My girlfriend loves the place as well, as she's a vegetarian and the menu has several veggie options / substitutes.
The restaurant is on the small side but is very clean. Oh, and for the health conscious, the food is actually MSG free!
I would definitely recommend this place to anyone seeking authentic, hearty, and well priced Korean food.
Pretty Darn Good!. There are plenty of korean restaurants around on bloor, but so far this one is the best. This little restaurant feels more like a home kitchen then a restaurant. The taste of the food is authentic and the service is super friendly.
The daenjang used in the daenjang stew tastes homemade (in otherwords FANTASTIC). The silken tofu stew has a great subtle seafood flavor to it. When they have it the Dak tori tang (i.e. spicy chicken stew), is bar none the best on Bloor with a perfect balance of spicy and sweet.
Its a great place to eat on a budget or otherwise.
I very highly recommend this place.
