After our Saturday morning visit, we headed to Valley Fields for lunch. We had been there once before, several years ago. There was a small lineup inside the front door, so we did have to wait about five minutes for a table.
Once we were seated and had an opportunity to look at the menu, SWMBO chose the Chicken Finger Plate. A good diner dish.
I ordered the Western Omelette. It was a proper Western omelette that had ham, onions and green pepper. Some other restaurants leave out the green pepper. Just that touch makes the omelette taste a lot better, in my opinion.
Service was fine, although we did have to wait a few minutes at the end to pay. Our server and someone from the kitchen were having an extended conversation in the middle of the restaurant, rather than looking after their customers.
I tried this place out today, based on the mostly positive reviews here. I was looking for a good breakfast spot, and I found it. It's a family-oriented restaurant, with a lively but cozy atmosphere. I ordered the veggie eggs benedict (came with spinach, fried tomato, and asparagus instead of ham or peameal), and they were delicious! The potatoes on the side were tasty too. The place was hopping when I got there, but we were seated quickly, and the service was fast and friendly. I will definitely go back. The only downside, really, was the lack of parking. It's in a small plaza, and parking is limited. Carpool or take transit if you can!

As the owner of valleyfields I could assure you that all our sauces are made from scratch. I don't buy frozen sauces. My restaurant has homemade food and sauces just to clear things. I invite you to try us again. Ask for me. Thanks
