Meh at best. My coworker mentioned it and in fairness, loved it. I tried it a few different time/dishes to give it a fair shot. Unfortunately, not a lot of flavour and the pad thai tasted like ketchup. I do realise that ketchup is an ingredient in pad thai and I love ketchup, but to be swimming in it yuck! #moneywasted #neveragain
A pleasant, bright restaurant on Bloor Street West by the Royal York Station, the Green Mango offers good food at reasonable prices with a friendly staff. Pictured is a vegetarian Green Mango Curry which was delicious.
Came here for lunch today and ordered several dishes. Their lunch specials are a good price for what you get; we got lunch combo 3 & 9. Appetizer was the beef skewers with peanut sauce and the entree seafood Pad See Ew. The appetizer had 5 skewers but the beef was a tad chewy. Lunch combo 3 was good however same thing- the beef on the skewers could’ve been better. Lunch combo 9 was disappointing because the beef curry was not a curry, it was a stew. And when at a Thai restaurant you expect a proper spicy rich Thai curry. The Pad See Ew was really good, though again lacked spice so I just added hot sauce. It had squid and shrimp and was a big portion. Lastly the mango bubble tea was flavorful. Overall the food was decent, the service was quick and the restaurant was modern and clean, but we will try another Thai restaurant next time.
Nelson: I think this is one of the best Thai restaurants on the west side of Toronto. The value was really good in addition to the good food. Judging from the amount of takeout business they have I'd say other people in the neighbourhood agree. I went with the Mango Chicken ($13.95) with slices of fresh mango lightly stir fried with chicken, bell peppers, onions and garnished with thin slices of carrots. I really liked how the mango was ripe and therefore lent the right amount of sweetness to the dish which balances perfectly with the spicy sauce. Sweet and spicy, two defining flavours of Thai cuisine.
From my memory, it seems they have raised prices since I've been there and the value doesn't seem to be as good. The food is still great though!
Super quick service on a Sunday evening. Food was great/tasty. Plenty of options for our large party - everyone was pleased.
Agree with the other reviews that it is westernized Thai food but it's still a good eat. Service can be slow at some times but overall not bad. Always my go to spot for pad thai
Don't confuse this with the BWV location. Don't know why, but the food at the Kingsway Village (Royal York and Bloor) location ALWAYS tastes better than the Bloor West Village location. Been going here for years, and yes, the service can sometimes be dodgy, but food is consistently good. Favorites are the beef satay, fresh veggie rolls, curry pumpkin soup, Basil Beef (spicy), Shrimp Curry. Try the Halo Halo (yes, I know it's Filipino), or Banana Jackfruit Roll for dessert - both super yummy !!! I always say hello and thanks to the cooks in the kitchen and it goes a long way - try it sometime. I think that "common courtesy" is not that common anymore, and in many cases, it's been my experience that you get what you give.
Best Thai I've ever eaten. I've never gotten anything from Green Mango that I didnt like. That is high praise because I am very hard to please.
Greatest rice and shrimp I've ever had. It's a great spot to impress a date or go out with the family. I definitely recommend it.
Royal York and Bloor. Over that past 10 years the excellent quality of the food has stayed the same. We love it! My favorite dishes include the Hot and Sour soup, the Golden Curry Chicken and the Veggie Delight :)
This is a very popular restaurant in "downtown" Etobicoke. It serves good Thai food for decent prices. We sometimes get some takeout from there, but you always have to wait your turn.
Loved their Pad See Yew. These guys have a couple of locations around Toronto and they have been one of the popular joints around the neighbourhood for a bit. The staff is friendly and the restaurant is always well maintained and clean. Definitely worth stopping by for.
