20 for 3 people
回頭率:一般,多停車位但冇飲茶只係普通茶餐廳
Decent selection of flavourful Chinese food! My family frequents this place and they pride theirselves on not using too much MSG. Their stuffed drumsticks are highly recommended
I've been to this restaurant a few times, located in a plaza located at Don Mills and Finch so I decided finally do a review. During my previous visits I ordered ala carte. This time I decided on a set meal and 1 item off the menu. I went with my mom and dad and we ordered $65 lobster set meal that comes with 4 items(3lbs Hk stir fired lobster, sweet & sour pork, 1/2 deep fried chicken and king oyster mushrooms on bok choy) and 1 separate item off the menu groupa filet with tofu hotpot($8.99) I wanted to order extra so I could take leftovers for work lol😄. We were given complimentary soup to start which is a nice touch. So the lobster was very good, very tender and not over cooked. The sweet & sour pork was very crispy alot better than what u would get at a typical buffet or chinese fast food place. The vegetables and mushrooms were very crunchy and tasty. The deep fried chicken was only ok. When it first came out it was nice and hot and tender but after a few mins when it cooled down it became very dry. And for the garoupa fish tofu hotpot it was very delicious the filets were firm and the sauce I served it on my steam rice. I couldn't get enough of it. Well at the end they served us red bean dessert which was a nice treat to end dinner and I indeed did have leftovers to take to work. I would recommend this place for a decent priced cantonese style food.
I came here with my parents for a weeknight dinner. The place was full with a nice array of items on their menu for a full Chinese dinner. They have vegetable stir fry, seafood, BBQ, pot stews, and soups. We ordered a half BBQ duck, Eggplant stew, and a shrimp and tofu stir fry with Broccoli. Each item was excellent and well prepared. They give you a pot of complimentary soup and red bean pudding with every dinner. Their quality is pretty good for the price and location wise there are no other restaurants like it in the area. The service is average as the waitress will try to get you to order their "specials" of the day. Once you have politely declined, they will let you be.
This place was recommended by my parents' friends. Recommendations from sharp elderly Chinese can't be wrong. So I decided to give this place a try. The restaurant was recently renovated. The space is bright and inviting. The staff is extremely friendly. We ordered the four course set dinner. The food came fast.
The free range chicken course was excellent! The meat had texture and tasted like real chicken, not like typical preprocessed meat. The Peking duck course was surprisingly good. I did not expect a seafood restaurant to do duck, but this was excellent. The fried rice was also very fluffy and light. I listened to the recommendations and now I'm also a believer! Definitely a must try!
Authentic chinese food. I had the similar situation as Sam (specialty dish went to the wrong table), but the owner replaced it with a comparable dish. As the original dish was made with seasonal seafood, they were unable to replace it with the exact same, but he made a reasonable effort.
He offered to remake the dish for us the next time we return.
The replacement dish was actually quite good itself! And he gave us a good discount on the dish as well.
Awesome-ness. It's the best chinese restaurant I have been to in the last few years. The food is delicious, the sweet and sour pork was the best I've had. The presentation of the dishes were very creative and original. The service was good.
The dishes are really delish in the Chef's Special!
You have to call and book the table ahead of time but, it is well worth it. The presentation and flavours are wonderful.
I especially loved the "Goldfish" dish each dumpling is handcrafted with two eyes and a dumpling dough fan tail. They rest in a "pond" of crystal green sauce with enoki mushrooms and goji berries. Under the pond there is a smooth milk white egg jelly that just tickles your tongue. There was a 8 vegetable dish that was AMAZING! The flavours were subtle and light. The papaya scallop basket dish was unique and delicious. The sweetness of the papaya paired perfectly with the scallops. The pork neck with savoury and perfectly cooked. Giant prawn crispy and garlicy. The fried pouches filled with yummy goodness. The dessert of hot steamed egg custard with a little a hint of ginger was perfect to end the meal. All in all we had 10 courses including the dessert. Well worth the $35 per person including tax and tip. We had a group of 14 people so, the more people the more variety of dishes are served. Go with a group and enjoy a delicious Cantonese style evening of food. :)
If you do go to Fantaxia, make sure you go with a big group (more than four people for sure) because the more people you have, the more unique dishes you get to try (which is typical of any Chinese restaurant or tapas style places anyway).
