I would like to add my own review based upon personal experience from my time at the restaurant. I worked at Izba restaurant on and off for six years, and now work as a teacher in Paris. I would like to say that I have gotten to know the owner very well in my time at the restaurant, and he truly means well in serving everyone who comes through those doors. You do not get through 36 years in the restaurant business without having a passion and love for cooking and serving others, and that is what the owner of Izba Restaurant has plenty of.
The food itself is really quite good and I think anyone who comes for the special pork schnitzel will walk away very delighted and pleased. If you would like to venture away from pork, then the chicken schnitzel, while not as a big of a seller may actually be a bigger hit with customers when they order it. With either schnitzel order comes a generous portion of roasted potatoes, carrots, and cabbage. The borsch, goulash soup, cabbage rolls are all homemade, and will compliment a schnitzel meal wonderfully.
I know that I have only really positive things to say, but that is because ultimately I really enjoyed my time working at the restaurant, and always find myself when I am back in the city going back to catch up with the owner, and it is a pleasure to find that after all of these years that Izba Restaurant stays open and does a great job serving the community of Etobicoke.
I enjoy going out with family and friends to restaurants that have a good, cordial atmosphere and the food should be something to remember. IZBA on the queensway fit the bill for my family last month. Cozy with a nice middle eastern European setting. The Borscht and Schnitzel were especially good. Definitely worth a second visit.
IZBA is good if you know where you're going. It's been a pioneer in the Polish/small restaurant category, given its reputation and longevity in the business. I know my way around here and know what dishes taste the best. You should try their evergreen Polish dishes, the souvlaki, the Schnitzel-Pierogi platter, Vienna Schnitzel. I would rate them like this.

How often do you write a review when you're actually eating? This is my first LIVE review. The guys are very friendly. The ambiance is fantabulous, the temperature is perfect. You could actually feel the magnanimity of European art sitting right here. I've the Goulash Soup, Mushrooms, the Schnitzel-Pierogi Platter and the cheese cake on my order. The soup is thick and the consistency is great. Mushrooms seemed a little overcooked, or it must be the sauce that has affected its texture. The Schnitzel-Pierogi Platter is your classic Polish treat, it's perfectly cooked and has all the right ingredients in it. I'm eating the cheesecake right now, it's the only blot on this othewise perfect menu of mine. It's truly beautiful here. Back to finish my meal, I'd need help to get up from the table though. :D
Dining out here was a good thing that I did in some time. Definitely, try the Vienna schnitzel & the Schnitzel-Pierogi platter, they're delicious. I bet that you'd also like the goulash soup and the Crepe. Though the menu is not extensive, they make up for it by doing justice with whatever they offer. Definitely worth a try.
A regular customer to this place for over an year now, I must say that they're a fantastic bunch of people. The food as always has been very delicious. The decor is simply majestic. Trust me, a very fine place in this neighborhood.
All I wanna say is that IZBA is truly a very good restaurant. Being an old timer, I can say for sure that it's a gem of a place. The decor, the artistry in it, the food, everything about IZBA is so remarkable. Never miss their chicken or fish if you're here, it's just so delightful. The service is excellent, the staff is so nice with you.

Great food in a Parallel Universe. I've eaten at IZBA quite a few times. I've always liked their rich menu, the service provided is great, the ambiance relaxing and above all, you detach yourself from the craziness of the outside world. It feels as if you've entered a vacuum in time and have been enchanted by this brilliant, chic and opulent decor. I'd keep going here for that serene atmosphere and peace of mind. Don't underestimate the food though, it's top class, definitely try their meat entree.
The best money can buy. What do you do when you're in Rome? You follow the Romans. I did exactly that. As clichéd as it may sound, the reality is this happens to be one of the best European themed(or original) restaurants in town. How do I know it? Well, I was here a few days ago with the family. The staff welcomed us and made us feel like royalty. The decor and the ambiance of this place was heavenly. The best part is the food. We had the goulash soup, their custom specialty, the Izba salad, meatballs, Schnitzel-Pierogi platter, and ended our meal with the cheesecake. It might be a little pricey but worth the trouble.
From Movie date to 'Happy Endings'. Planned a movie date(not in the purest sense) with my girlfriend last weekend. This place was part of the plan, as I was recommended by my friends, just for the opulence and beauty of it. We two ordered more than usual, she liked Vienna schnitzel and the dessert, which I could notice from the look in her eyes. I LOVED the Souvlaki, which was, as you know Souvlaki but did not like the dessert much. I think this is a perfect place for young couples and recommend you young lovebirds this beautiful nest, more so because of the romantic ambiance. My evening ended in 'Happy Endings', in case you were curious ;)
