Good, satisfying food. Curious that the glutinous rice dishes are cooked with red bean, which isn't mentioned anywhere on their extensive menu. Fruit is plentiful. Service is extremely inattentive.

Great, affordable place to go with friends for hang out. Their drinks are ok but their desserts are amazing! What I appreciate most is that they don't try to kick you out or pressure you to leave like some other places. We stayed there, having ordered three items, for five hours on a busy night. I would definitely come back
Got the golden royal drink & popcorn chicken on rice, only been here once, staff were nice. Food was freshly cooked, drinks were freshly made. All in all I had a great time. They only accept cash so I had to use the ATM i side their restaurant.
There are quite a few dessert options to choose from. I had the house special mango sago. It came quickly and was quite good. It was filled with fruit and sago and Not overly sweet. There are some desserts that take up to 30 min to prepare so be sure to ask ahead of time if you are ordering with a group. My friends ordered ahead of us so we didnt have to wait tpo long for their desserts after ours came.

We headed on over to Sugar Marmalade to try out some of their desserts in-store. We had already visited the location twice for takeout, receiving efficient and courteous service both times, so it was decided that we would try something different this time around.
After much thought, we ordered two classic Chinese desserts: Black Glutinous Rice with Durian and Coconut Milk and Steamed Papaya Egg White with Milk.
he papaya took a while longer than the glutinous rice dessert to arrive, which was to be expected as it required time to steam to egg white and milk pudding. The black glutinous rice had a chewy consistency, while the coconut milk was neither too watery nor too thick. It contained just the right amount of sweetness as well.
Durian, a well-loved ingredient in a number of tropical countries, is usually a hit-or-miss for most people. While its atrocious smell may ward off many, the texture and taste is actually quite nice. The durian chunks included in the dessert were not only extremely fragrant, but also added a nice coarseness to the dessert as a whole. The only downside was that we could still smell the fruit even after finishing all the food items we ordered.

Forgo ordering dessert from any restaurant that you'll be heading to, because after coming here once, you'll just want to come back over and over again.
They have quite an extensive menu that includes almost any possible Chinese dessert imaginable. The service is typical quite fast, though it can get a little bit busy on Friday night and weekends. Waits for myself don't usually go longer than 15-20 minutes at most as there are a lot of tables and many people come and go.
I especially like that there's a button at your table to summon the waiter/waitresses since it can get a little bit crowded, so you don't have to hunt them down or leave your table.
All of the fruits used seem to be quite fresh as I've never encountered anything that's stale or overly ripe.
I highly recommend ordering the mango desserts as well as the lychee ones as they aren't overly sweet, but have the perfectly milky consistency to quench your thirst while still remaining a dessert.
I also loved their squid tentacles and nori fries (Japanese mayo on anything is always a win!), as well as their assorted fish balls.
Price wise, this restaurant is fairly affordable. Most of the dishes are under $10, except for the larger full meal ones. I also forgot to mention that if you want to eat there, you can as well. They have rice dishes that I have yet to try, but would love to.
One thing I would keep in mind is that going there in the winter time, if you wear contact lenses, your eyes may get a little bit dry. They crank up the heat quite a bit so after sitting there for about 30 minutes, my eyes got extremely dry and uncomfortable.
Sugar Marmalade Inc. is an excellent restaurant for dessert lovers seeking for fine Chinese and Taiwanese desserts. Located on Yonge St. in a popular Korean district, Sugar Marmalade Inc. offers an excellent blend of finely crafted dishes, convenient location and a comfortable environment reminiscent of shops from Hong Kong and Taiwan. When walking in, you are instantly brought back to a typical dessert shop in Hong Kong. With its rustic yet modern interior and canto/mando pop music selection, Sugar Marmalade Inc. is a welcoming sight for hungry dessert lovers with a taste for Asian flavours. Words cannot describe how happy I was when I saw that Hong Kong style steamed rice rolls was on the menu. It's hard to imagine that such a simple dish could bring such joy but there's something about the mix of sesame paste, hoisin sauce and sesame seeds that brings back warming memories of my childhood. After dinner at a Korean restaurant (Nak Won) close by, we joined another group of friends who just finished a winterlicious dinner at Sugar Marmalade for dessert. This place is usually crowded on the weekends. They serve all the traditional and new age Asian desserts. From fruit mixes, egg pudding, cakes, and drinks they have it all. On this occasion, I ordered the mango grass jelly in coconut milk. It has a nice mixture of fresh fruit to go with grass jelly which is kind of like Jello without the artificial flavors. The coconut milk is insurance in case the mangoes are unripe and provides a sweetness boost. For the price of each dessert ($4.99-$7.99) in the area, I think it provides compelling value and a nice place to hang out with friends at the end of an evening.
I've been here a few times and they have desserts you can't get at many places in Toronto. They BEST thing to get , in my opinion, is the fresh watermelon and sago in coconut milk base. It is oh so wonderfully refreshing. And the taste of watermelon and coconut together is so simple and perfect. I've ordered a bunch of desserts from the menu and the watermelon sago coconut milk combo is still my favorite. Really affordable prices too.
