Cookies were delicious and moist. I ordered a lemon cake from here as well. It was a bit too dense for my liking but very tall and pretty. Service was good.
I visited this place after searching on google about vintage coffee shops in town. I was thrilled to step in and check this place out.
Decor and furniture are well organized, products and labels match the style and the atmosphere reminded me a l typical old attic back in the days or a rustic cottage kitchen in the county side in Italy.
Staff is gentle and smiling. Which is for me a key of success. I asked for gluten free products but unfortunately thy don't have any yet. They have told me that Janet is working on few recipes but here is where I, as developer, definitely can help them with.
I haven't taken picture of the treats who I tasted but they were wholesome and not over sweet.

The wonderful aroma of fresh baked goods is the first thing that hits you when you walk into the Phipps Bakery Cafe. The front half of the shop is a bakery, and the back half is a small cafeteria. Sandwiches, salads, hot food and more. Today's hot selections were mac and cheese, spinach lasagna, stir fry vegetables with chick peas, quiche, pasta with mushroom ragu.
SWMBO chose the Pasta and Mushrooms. Given that it was served cafeteria style, the pasta was a bit overdone, but still tasty. I had the Quiche, which turned out to have mushrooms, which I love. I also had a small side of the Stir Fry. My dishes were served in a bowl, but it probably would have been easier to eat the Quiche if it was on a plate.
The dining area was decorated to look like an outdoor cafe, with wrought iron trellises, flag stone floor, and two-top cafe tables. The tables were an eclectic mix of cafe tables, including granite, wood, square, round, painted and plain.
I found this place on Zomato when looking for a place to buy my best friend's birthday cake. We got the honey chocolate cake and lets just my best friend loves me even more now. Everyone devoured the cake and it was definitely the talk of the night! Highly recommended!
I came to this lovely cafe for breakfast. What looks like your typical coffeehouse from the outside turned up to be a memorable experience. The smell makes you want to try everything, and I did end up getting way more than initially planned! I had a coffee and two cookies for breakfast, and bought several butter tarts and chocolates to take home for later. The decor and atmosphere made me very comfortable, and so did the very nice and helpful employees. I definitely recommend it!
Just walking in is a crazy experience, smells and LOOKS amazing. The staff was super funny and helpful, went through absolutely everything for me and my bf, we had endless questions and they had endless patience. I recommend the apple ruchulegh, my boyfriend is addicted to the lemon triangles. It's our date place now, they also have the best coffee on eg west. Ten stars ten hearts.
Midday break. Stopped in this afternoon for an Americano and apple crumble tart.
Relief to be indoors in such a cosy place on this cold and wet November day.
Many great looking sweets on offer. My tart was excellent with lots
of crumble topping and a caramel drizzle.
Whether it's a just a coffee, a peace offering to your sweet tooth or a full meal. The home cooked offerings at Phipp's won't disappoint...
Cute Cafe and bakery in mid town Toronto. They have the best butter tarts in Toronto.
I absolutely enjoyed the caramel butter tarts. The chocolate ones are good too
Stumbled upon this little bakery by chance and I was certainly glad to have discovered it. The place is rather small inside, and it kind of feels like an older style French café. They have a fantastic array of baked goods and desserts, complete with some exquisite tarts and cookies, which go perfectly with a nice cup of coffee. Definitely one of the hidden gems in the area and worth checking out.
