How fresh would you like your meat? I think I’ve found an answer for you. Former financial businessman, Jacques Kavafian, created Fresh Burger in 2013 by opening his first location near his home in Richmond Hill. Kavafian was “frustrated” with Toronto’s burger scene. He thought, “People are trying too hard to be different.” All he wanted was a good old-fashioned fresh hamburger. Thus, leading to him opening a small hamburger restaurant called Fresh Burger. In January of 2018, Kavafian expanded his franchise by opening his third location of Fresh Burger. With three operational restaurants in and around the GTA, Fresh Burger has attained considerable attraction within Toronto’s burger scene. We went one afternoon in June to visit the Church and Wellesley location with barely anybody in the restaurant. It was unfamiliarly quiet. The menu is simple. It serves burgers and fries with the option to customize your burgers and upsize your fries.
Double prime burger + cali fries are the waaaaave. I tried this first up by Jane and 16th and feel in love. Really a top burger place in Toronto
California fries wow - not enough love for these guys.
Burgers are so fresh, they melt. I come here at least 2-3x a month if I can, and always tell anyone I know who loves Burgers (or doesn't!) to come. 10/10
This place is INCREDIBLE! I promise, try it - they have amazing burgers, cali fries and everything is made fresh. You will not be disappointed, I promise!
“Tastes Good like a Hamburger Should!” That is Fresh Burger's tag line, and I agree. Fresh (never frozen) ingredients, simple preparation, properly cooked. That adds up to a hamburger that tastes like a good hamburger. Along with a large portion of fresh cut fries and a can of pop, the Fresh Burger Combo is $10, including tax. A good value.
Love their burgers, everything is super fresh and worth the wait while they cook it for you. You can see the sacks of potatoes waiting to be sliced into fries, and the grill while they prep your burger.
I requested that my burger be well-done because I was sharing it with my 17 month old son. I assumed that because of this the patty may be on the dry side. SO WRONG. It was flavourful and juicy. I loved it and my son did too. The fries were nice and crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The fries portion is rather large so I would recommend that if you're with a friend, one can order the combo and you just split the fries.
Best Burget in GTA. Went to Fresh Burger a few days ago with my son after basketball practise and I can honestly say that this was one of the best burgers I have had in GTA. Conveniently located in Richmond Hill at the corner of Leslie and 16th Ave. The Burger was so juicy and delicious that it melted in your mouth. The menu is very simple so I chose the 8 ounce double Fresh burger. Honestly I could have probably has another one it was so good. My 8 year old son who is the pickiest of eaters, said to me "Dad this is the best burger I have ever had". I high recommend this place.
For my first experience I decided to keep it simple and have their Freshburger combo - a 4oz patty with the classic fixings. Admittedly, it's a little plain, I'd suggest at least adding the pickle and onion to it.
The combo normally comes with fries but the smell of their poutine was intoxicating so I had to make one upgrade. The patty was tender and beefy thanks to the lean Canadian AAA sirloin they use. The fresh version was a decent amount of meat, but for the bun I think the prime version would be more suitable.
I personally enjoyed that they didn't add too much spice mixture on the meat so that its natural flavour was pronounced. The bun was soft and
Fresh Burger has built quite the following in Richmond Hill, ON, with their no frills burgers menu. They were the recipient of the 2014 Yelpie Award for "Favorite Burger Restaurant"; an annual award run by the people of Yelp. They have now expanded to their second location and it's located on Church St in downtown Toronto.
