If you love churros then this is the place to be. Love how have different sauce to fill in the churros plus the churocone dessert is a must have! A cute gem in Kensington market.
This place is a hit and miss when it comes to churros. I've been three times already and only once was I served fresh, steaming hot churros straight from the fryer. They were amazing! My favorite filling by far is the dulce de leche. But then the other two times I was given stale, half warm churros that have been sitting in the fryer. So they have the potential for great churros but you have to get them fresh. I also tried their tacos and they were truly excellent! The meat was very flavorful and well seasoned and the taco itself was huge, one of those and 3 churros and I was full. The sanitation of the restaurant is seriously questionable though as I've rarely seen dirtier cooking surfaces or a nastier bathroom....
We tried the churro ice cream cone at this Kensington market store (probably designed more for take out). The cone is essentially a churro rolled into a cone and is filled by a sauce (e.g,, caramel), ice cream and another topping (e.g., nuts). It is a very interesting thing to try. The ice cream itself was very tasty but the churro turned-into-cone was not as moist as I would have liked. The whole thing was worth trying. I would like to return to try their unrolled churros as I suspect would be more moist than the cone version. My impression was that this is a popular place.
Delicious! My friend and I each got 3 churros and had them filled. I had chocolate, strawberry and dulce de leche (caramel). My favourite was the strawberry filling. I would definitely recommend this place!
Pancho's bakery is one of our favourite stop to eat churros. You will never get churros without waiting in the line. They make really great crispy churros with options of strawberry, caramel or chocolate to fill with. 3 for 5$ is the cheapest that you can get here in Toronto.
Tried their churros and the new churro cone when their truck was stationed in Dundas Square! The churro sticks with chocolate and caramel was wonderful. They were crispy on the outside and soft and gooey with fillings inside. The hyped churro cone which I took the classic one was good.I won't say it was out of the world. The almond and coconut on the ice cream topping the cone gave it a nice touch.
Would love to try their special red velvet flavour.
4 churros for 5 bucks! so I don't what i thought then, I bought 4 sweetie churros with 4 different flavor. it was good if you eat only one. but you know 2 or more means you don't want eat it at least half a year. it's my fault cause the churros and the man made churros are all very sweet!
I came here CRAVING a dulce de leche churro, since I tried churros at their Dufferin location. I asked for a piping hot churro filled with dulce de leche. It was piping hot and had the perfect texture. I was glad I stopped there for a churro fix. The only problem I had was the piping did not reach the bottom of the churro so around half way through, I had run out of dulce de leche.
All in all, a fresh piece of fried dough for $1.50, or 4 for $5...what more can one ask for?
Saw the high rating on Zomato and finally went to try it out. The churros were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. They fry them fresh as you order and coat them with cinnamon and sugar followed by fillings, which is melted by the remaining heat inside the churros. They only had chocolate and caramel when I went. Both were good. The caramel has a light taste and for me was surprisingly better than the chocolate. They are perfect for a snack craving, especially when you can choose how many you want to order. Becareful not to bite from the other end or you'll make the mistake of leaking churros like we did :S.
Pancho’s Bakery is a little bakery that is known for their traditional Mexican treats and churros with fillings! This bakery is part of a food court where you can find a wide varieties of shops that sell different type of cuisine.
Other than their brick and mortar store, Pancho’s bakery also have food trucks and I remember seeing them at most of the festivals in the GTA. Hence if you are unable to make it to the stores, look out for their food trucks!
