After a little late afternoon drive, we decided to try Mashu Mashu for dinner. since the restaurant was less than half full when we arrived before 6 pm, we were seated immediately. I noticed a couple of tables with reserved signs, and the restaurant continued to fill up as we had our meal. The decor was fairly elegant, with the dark walls and tables, and the white high-backed chairs.
SWBMO ordered the Chicken Schnitzel with Fries and Greek Salad ($21.95). The salad was very colourful, with the addition of red and yellow bell peppers. The breaded chicken had been pounded thin before frying, and had a tasty, crispy coating, but unfortunately the chicken was a bit dry. The fries were nicely done; a bit crisp on the outside.
I chose the Salmon Shish Kebob with Israeli Salad and Seasonal Vegetables (one skewer $20.50). My salad was healing and filling. The salmon was *really* good. The kebob chunks had a nice little char, and the size of the pieces allowed it all to be cooked uniformly, and it was cooked just right. After I added some freshly squeezed lemon, each bite had a pleasant tanginess. The veggies were good; not overcooked.
Service was friendly and polite. The prices were a bit high, but overall the food was pretty good.
Mashu Mashu in Forest Hill Village is an attractive Mediterranean restaurant, with a good menu with lunch combo specials, spacious seating and efficient staff. The pictured lentil soup and falafel wrap for lunch was filling and delicious.
Food was delicious as always and Elisin made an extra effort to make our dining experience special. Chicken skewer dinners are always moist and not dried out, as we have found at similar Mediterranean restaurants.
Absolutely delicious! Great atmosphere. Friendly staff. I'll be back :)
The food is very tasty! Take out is really quick. Service is meh, but every item on the menu is great. The portions are hefty and very good. Tzatziki is some of the best in the city outside the danforth area
Mashuuuuuuuu. I could eat here 3 times a day. don't know what to get every time I go in because there are so many choices. The only time I don't enjoy mashu is when is too busy, you can see the servers dance through the floor is amazing. Even though last sunday was lineup at the door, there wasn't one single time that I did see the server not smiling.
Best of Forest Hill Village. I would have to say without a doubt Mashu Mashu is my favorite restaurant in the Forest Hill Village area. The portions are huge for the money, and the food is fantastic. The wait staff are very friendly, and the decor is pleasing to the eye for a casual dining experience. Highlights- definitely the appetizers sampler, their huge chicken schnitzel, israeli salad, and great lentil soup.
Good and some amazing food. The three-portion appetizer (includes pita) is absolutely diving. I recommend the eggplant (soooooooo yummy), babaganoush, and hummus. The beet is delicious too. And make a delicious and healthy school lunch for kids.
At different times, I've had the salmon kabob or lamb kabob with salad and it's always been very yummy.
Very friendly, helpful, accommodating service.
Great food, friendly service and huge portions. Really enjoyed this place and it was my second visit!
Delicious salads pricing a bit high small location
Mmmmashu. Good enough for lunch and dinner every day of the week. If you get a salad make sure to get the basil dressing. The lentil soup is a must and don't forget to finish it with a squeeze of lemon. Hopefully you live close by because you WILL get addicted to the food.
