Can't stress how amazing the take out food is. From lasagna, pizza chicken or veal parm, pasta . Around the corner is the deli fresh bread pasta. Pannetone and so much more.
The bakery is mouthwatering. As a kid I used to place my face to the glass display window of all the fresh pasteries. Just mouthwatering. The almond cookies so soft so delicious. The cannoli which one would you choose they all look and taste delicious. Just add a cappuccino or espresso and enjoy. The display of cakes makes you want to buy the whole store. Did I forget gelato yummy. Have to watch I don't become diabetic ;)

As we headed west for the day, we stopped at Tre Mari for lunch. It is a busy neighbourhood Italian bakery and grocery that also has a hot table. They have a small dining area that seats about 20, which was full when we arrived around noon. As I finished paying for our food, SWMBO managed to snag a table for two.
SWBMO and I each had a Premium Meal ($9.95), hers with Lasagna, mine with Eggplant. The meals came with and 2 sides. She got a riceball and gnocchi, and I had a riceball and broccoli. We were offered extra sauce and grated Parmesan, and we both said yes. We were also offered a small Italian bread roll, but we passed on that, because the meals looked pretty big.
Both our meals were really good. The lasagna had about half a dozen layers of pasta, with lots of cheese and beef. The eggplant was also multi-layered and was cooked properly, all the way through, so that it cut very easily. The sauce was just the right amount of zesty. One tiny issue: the broccoli was only warm, and could have been hotter.

I love the flavour of the crusty fresh bread and buns! This Corso Italia neighbourhood bakery is full of tradition -- from the desserts to the hot counter offerings. I always stop in when I'm in the area. Try the sfoglia (pastry)!
Just was there to have the excellent porchetta with all the sides of your choice. Forgot to take a photo 'cause I was so hungry. You can also get fantastic breads, cheeses and Italian cold cuts.
I've only ever had the desserts in the bakery and can attest that everything there is amazing. The tiramisu specifically is out of this world. Can't wait to try the savoury stuff!
I love the old world charm this place refuses to leave behind after all these years. This place is a staple in Corso Italia. My wife's grandfather goes almost everyday! It's this kind of allure that drove me to love the place. The bread and pastries are fantastic and I would cry if they ever closed.
Great coffee and even better cannoli's. Excellent selection of bread, olive rosemary is my favourite!! The service is unbelievable, I'm treated like family every time I walk in. One of the few classic and authentic bakeries left in the city!!
