Paradise's dim is good/above average. They can also get quite packed, so it is a good idea to reserve your seat ahead of time. Weekday's dim sum gives a discount if you order before 11AM.
What makes this place shine is the dinner. Their Peking duck is top notch and not oily. They also have a good source for their duck, it is more meaty than most restaurants out there. Definitely a recommended dish if it is your first visit.
Other dinner dishes that my family and I enjoy includes Dice Beef Tenderloin with Garlic, Fish Tail, or Fish Belly Stir Fried, Sauteed Scallops with Vegetable, Soya Chicken, BBQ Duck, Stir Fried Snow Pea Leaves with Garlic Sauce. Their Water Cress soup is also quite good, if available. They change their menu regularly, so if you are undecided on what to order, you can always ask the staff to make recommendation.
I should also mention that I usually bring my parents here, as my mother's digestion system doesn't do too well with oily food. We find that Paradise's food is less oily compared to most Chinese food places. Service is excellent, staff is friendly and speaks English.
This review is for their dim sum only. This is our favourite restaurant for dim sum. The decor and tea is higher class and they make the absolute best Chinese dessert: Golden fried sesame balls with soft custard centre. Everything that we’ve tried there has been good, but the texture of the Steamed BBQ Pork Buns is very crumbly, so we don’t recommend that one. Go before 11 am for better prices.
My dear and I have been constantly eating out. I suggested this place since it's close to home and dear was looking for a lobster Asian dish. This is another Chinese restaurant that has a large seating capacity for dim sum morning/lunch. You typically just get a checklist of what possible dim sum foods available and just mark how many you want. We came here on a Sunday lunch and it was packed. I saw a sign that said every dim sim dish is $3.1 per dish before 11 am. We just arrived at 1pm ...
My friends and I are always looking to expand our dim sum repertoire, and Paradise 世外桃園 was a great addition to that list. The har gow skin was not thick, and the cheong fun was silky and smooth. We had egg tarts for dessert which was a great way to end a delicious brunch; if you come early there is an early bird discount!
Fresh Dim Sum. Born and raised in Hong Kong, I've eaten dimsum all my life. My boyfriend and I went there for dim sum the other day, and thought the food tasted flavourful and fresh. It was his first foray into dim sum so I wanted to give him a good experience! The decor was modern and bright and the seating was comfortable. Service was reasonable except it took me three requests to get a bit or Worcester sauce, when the place was not busy (around 8 tables?). I did particularly like the shrimp dumplings that had the thin, translucent, delicate layer on the outside. We went at 2:30 and was a little disappointed that there wasn't an 'afternoon tea' discount like many other dimsum places. For 2 people ordering 6 kinds of dimsum, the bill came to about $30 - pretty good!

A must-go. I love authentic chinese food, especially dim sum, but most chinese restaurants are noisey, and not too comfortable to eat in. but paradise surprised me. went with my coworker and was surprised at the modern decor and comfortable setting. different from other chinese restaurants. service was excellent, food was delicious!
I wanted a nice place to enjoy a family-style Chinese meal and I knew I wanted Peking Duck. I searched the newspaper for some deals and ended up choosing Paradise for a $98 package featuring both Peking Duck and lobster, two of my favourites in Chinese fine dining. Complimentary taro chips were tasty treats to start off the meal! These were nice and crispy. The first course was the glorious homemade roasted Peking Duck ! Before the duck was sliced, it was presented to us for our approval. I'm so curious... do people really reject their duck and ask for another one? I would eat Peking Duck all the time if it wasn't so fatty! But of course, that decadent layer of fat is what makes the meat so good, in combination with the crispy, roasted skin. I wished we had more pieces to go around, but it was truly delicious. Peking Duck is definitely one of my all time favourite dishes.
