Ok so I'm on my way there now with my hubby!! Our only place we go for breakfast in Scarborough!!! It is delicious, served with a smile, great prices and let me tell you the most amazing place to eat a flap Jack at!!! (Pancakes) I wish I could give this place 10 stars. Oh yeah and very clean too xx

A Bit of Nostalgia. Bendale Restaurant, located in the "Ben-jungle" in Scarborough, Toronto's east side of town. It was started by my father, Peter Siskos, around 1959. We ran this as a family until 1978 when he sold it. It is still there and a place I love to stop by when I'm in "da hood".
I started working there when I was 6 years old. I remember when I used to wash dishes while standing on a wooden Coke bottle crate. Work continued in the basement where I'd peel the potatoes for dad's famous Bendale Fresh Cut fries. The best in town!
Whenever life brings me back into this part of the city, I have to stop by for a banquet burger, fries & gravy, and a vanilla milkshake. Even more special on this day was being able to share the moment with my son.
If you are in this part of Toronto, I highly recommend dropping by Bendale Restaurant. Being served by Colleen is pure joy, she's been there for over 18 years. The customers are always friendly, don't be surprised if they'll strike up a conversation with you. You'll experience an eating establishment that feels as if time has stood still but the food and atmosphere is as great as ever.
