Great spot for reasonably priced takeout Malaysian classics. The Curry Laksa was fantastic, an authentic version that offered a good level of heat, complexity and correct amount of salty. The Mee Goreng was bland and underwhelming. The Curry Puff was just average and tasted a touch off balance from too much cumin. Most definitely, I will return for the laksa as well as check out the other items on the limited but effective menu at this family owned restaurant.
This small shop has the best and most authentic Malaysian food in the city. It's family run, and not well known yet. To be honest, they have trouble keeping up with demand already! The prices are very affordable, but note that it is pretty much a take-out place only. The best stuff sells out early, so go early or call ahead to order take out. My family likes their laksa, and the malaysian version of tamales pronounced something like ban gan. Their weekend menu differs slightly from their week day menu.
One2Snacks is a family-run restaurant hidden in the plazas around the Midland and Sheppard area. I wouldn't have known of this place until a few foodies and colleagues suggested that I visit here. It's very rare to find a passionately family run Malaysian food restaurant in Toronto.
Atmosphere: Stall restaurant with very limited seating (4 seats along the front window and maybe 2 on each side of the restaurant. This tiny restaurant fills up with lots of customers and orders take about 30-45 minutes on a given busy day!
