Best Thai restaurant on the Danforth for vegans and vegetarians! The recently updated menu specifies which dishes are vegan or vegetarian friendly, and which can be made vegetarian/vegan. We have been to Sala a few times since it opened last year and have never been disappointed. The food is fresh, flavourful, and creative - and the portions are generous. The squash fritters are a MUST try, as is the coconut ice cream - sticky rice and house made coconut ice cream topped with toasted sesame, mango, and other goodness. On top of all this, the staff are lovely - friendly, welcoming, and attentive. The cozy atmosphere is wonderful to enjoy a delicious meal.
One of the best thai places ive been to for real authentic Thai cuisine. The place can get quite busy at dinner time. The owner is wonderful, sweet and engaging with each table. She made our experience that much more special. You can really tell the love and attention she puts into running a successful restaurant, as it shows in the flavors and presentation of the food. Curry pad thai is a must!! I've been telling everyone i know about this place and can't wait to go back to try the other dishes
This place is is next level Thai Food. We tried many things on the menu and all of them were incredible and the best part of all it didn't break the bank. The owner was delightful and the serving staff were very accommodating. Not only will I be back but I will be bringing friends.. if you don't go here.. you're a fool!!
Visited on Sunday April 30th, I had the Fresh spring roll, Tom Yum soup and Curry Chicken Pad Thai.
Every dish tasted amazing, tasted fresh and the portion sizes were perfect! I'm a big guy and like to eat, I left feeling satisfied. The only thing missing was a cold a beer, and the staff said, they should have their liquor license soon. Can't wait to go back!!.
Quality food, beautiful presentation, sooo delicious, great value, and beyond amazing service. I would highly recommend this amazing restaurant to everyone I know! The owner is an absolute sweetheart. 10 stars . Thank you for an amazing experience each time we come in!
The food portions were huge! I got the pad Thai with chicken and glass noodles. Service was really good. Just wished they double checked the orders before giving it to us - my friend beside me ordered the same thing with medium spice, but they didn’t confirm when they gave us the plates. I ended up receiving the medium spice and had to switch with her after she already started eating. It was my birthday when I went, and they brought out two of their mango sticky rice! So sweet!
This was the best Meal ( Thai food) I have ever had. Five star in presentation , Excellent customer service and well mannerd staff. Highly recommended.
Cozy dining environment. The best Thai so far I have encounter. Must try Tom Yum Soup, Moo ping skewers grilled pork and last but not least Pad gra paow (pork) with sticky rice, authentic Thai Basil served with a punchy sauce of Thai chili and fish sauce and topped with an over-easy egg. Simple but tasty.

Absolutely delicious! I would say it is one of the best Thai restaurants in the city and the service is great. The Sala Pad Thai and Curry Chicken nuggets are amazing! Prices are fair and the atmosphere is fantastic! Will be a regular! Skip the Dishes and Uber Eats are available as well!!
The food was both beautiful and fantastic. Friendly staff and a great place to spend an evening. Get the Tai pancakes for dessert. You won't regret it.
Always my go-to Thai spot! It never fails my cravings every time. Good food, good service & good presentation!!
Enjoyed our authentic Thai lunch and it was lovely to meet the friendly staff and owners. Ahaan arroy! Finally, real Thai food on the Danforth! Yin dee!
This restaurant always makes me so happy . The food is amazing and the service and owner are even more amazing! I can't think l of a week without Sala Modern!
we had Lunch here today. Sala Modern Thai is right down the street from Danforth Karate Academy, we really enjoyed the food, the atmosphere, and the service. we will be returning again and do recommend this Restaurant to everyone
When my husband did an ex-pat stint in China, one of his favourite restaurants was owned by a Thai couple who made the “best pad Thai”, in his opinion. He fondly remembered the thin omelette that encapsulated the noodles, a dish he never found in Toronto until seeing a picture of Sala Modern Thai – really the sole catalyst for our visit.
The chicken version ($13) arrives covered in a thin crepe that’s more flour than egg; upon breaking through you’re greeted with a pad Thai made from chewy vermicelli noodles (as opposed to the typical thin rice noodles) and a sweet and sour sauce that’s one of the best I’ve heard had – it’s not overwhelming sweet or sour and there’s no tell-tale hint of red indicating ketchup was used in lieu of tamarind.
True to their name, the fresh rolls ($6) are made-to-order as the rice paper is soft, chewy, and lightly warmed. With a simple vegetable and tofu stuffing, you get the contrasting textures of crunchy and soft ingredients, with the Thai basil adding a refreshing essence. On the side, a sweet chili
The Bangkok pad Thai and the pad Thai were amazing! Washed it down with their Thai ice tea. Highly recommend this little restaurant. Great for dining in or takeout
