Food were great. I love Hainan rice, Assam whole fish (deep fried) and so the curry lamb. Very very goodDefinitely recommend!!!
Food was excellent and has variety. Price was fair and service was fast. Indonesian fried rice was my favourite dish as well as the roti.
Place does not look great from the outside and is not the best in the inside but the food was good and the service was also not bad. We were a large crowd (13 of us) so we tried various things and shared a lot. Mango salad is amazing as was chicken satay. Other food was good too. Did not like the eggplant option in vegetarian as it was bland but it looked fresh. Will I go there again? Not unless I am in that area and at lunch or dinner time.
I shared a few of the dishes with others at my table, so I got to try several different ones. The fried rice dishes were really good. The Pad Thai was very tasty. The service was ok. The menu could use descriptions of each item, so that it's clearer for those that are unfamiliar with the cuisine. I enjoyed what everyone else at my table ordered, but did not enjoy my own because it was not what I was expecting. Overall, good food, and I would return again.
If you want good Malaysian food in scarborough then this is the place to be. They have a huge selection of Malaysian dishes to choose from.
Also their roti is the bomb! Their food is delish and tasty! I also love that they have a huge selection of vegetarian dishes. A must try :)
One of my favourite places to go when I visit Toronto. The food is spicy but authentic. And it's the closest we've ever found outside of Singapore/Malaysia. Our staples are always the satays, mee goring and Singapore laksa. Till the next visit. Yum!
When I approached this restaurant from the outside I didn't have high expectations. However, once I sat down and smelled the food I was pleasantly surprised. The lunch specials are pretty good value and offer a lot of food. I ordered the curry chicken noodle and thought it was delicious. The meal came with a soup and cold iced tea. The nasi goreng did not disappoint either.
It had a good vibe as I walked in. For some reason, I really enjoyed just admiring the white curtains against the window and sunlight seeping through. I guess it sort of reminded me of a scene from the movie The Great Gatsby. . It appeared they recently hosted a banquet. . You Fan Service Callers. It's pretty much a call bell for customers' needs. I think this is brilliant and effective!
By some strange fate, I was checking xiaoeat's blogs and discovered that this Gourmet Malaysia was also strongly recommended. After more cross-checking on Yelp and other blogger websites, I was more convinced to visit this. Lastly, my wife's coworkers suggested a restaurant that was really good for Malaysian food since they originated from there - located somewhere on Sheppard East and Brimley. Was it the same restaurant, "Gourmet Malaysia" ? YES! Historical records online revealed that this restaurant used to be located in a food court long ago.
Food:4/5
Service:4/5
Price: $10-20 per person, depends on the dishes
Atmosphere: ...
Ordered my first Singaporean laksa here! I thought the flavours were quite all right and rich in coconut; however, my mother said that it wasn't the best version that she has had and that it still lacks in depth. The Hainan chicken rice was very flavourful and delicious in garlic taste, but the chicken fell flat and was too dry. Overall, decent but may not come again purposely!
I go there all the time. It's one of my favourite places. Never been disappointed with food. Huge selection of food, Singapore laksa is amazing. A+++
I love this place! The size of the menu is absolutely ridiculous, and the restaurant space is large as well. They've got tonnes of great menu items, including their satay, their curries, and their Hainan-style chicken with flavoured rice. Whenever you have the choice, go with the roti, which is crispy, buttery, and super delicious with curries. Word of warning: some of their menu items are very spicy, coming from someone who loves spice. They also offer a unique fried version of Hainan-style chicken, which I haven't seen at other establishments.
